So this is how our kids' lives just got turned upside down overnight.
So let's take a look at last night and how this all started.
Hi guys, so I just got back from the store.
Lainey told me to go get some iodine because she was talking to the person that we got the
emus from and they said go get some iodine.
So I ran, grabbed some iodine.
She said mix it with some water and we put it in this little spray bottle.
She said just spray it over the cut and literally just leave her be.
So she said with the oils in their skin, they, I guess, regenerate their skin growth very fast.
So literally in like a couple days, this should be healed.
So I'm not going to show her right now, but we're just going to spray some.
It's okay.
I know that hurts.
Okay, girl.
Okay.
All right.
So now that we got the iodine on her, now we just kind of sit and wait and hope for the best.
She's super lethargic right now.
She literally just won't move.
She just kind of just sits here.
Unless like I'll move her feathers and kind of like look at the cut, but yeah, she just,
she won't move.
So I'm going to try and pick her up and bring her over to a little house so that like at
night she's not messed with by like the cows or doggies or anything.
So I'm just going to pick her up and bring her over to her little house.
Okay.
So that was quite the hassle.
Icing is still out here with us.
So this was me bringing cinnamon roll over to her little house.
So she's all comfortable and happy, I think.
So we're just going to kind of let her hang out.
Hopefully icing can keep her company and see how she's doing in the morning.
And all of that resulted in the catastrophe this morning.
All right.
So today we are unfortunately experiencing our daughter's first heartbreak and she's
trying to control it.
You okay?
Come here.
I know.
Come here.
I know.
What happened was yesterday, the emu was kind of just laying down and lethargic,
but it would get up and walk.
So like I would go up to it and I would look at it and it looked like it had a cut.
So I would like try and move the feathers and she would literally just get up and walk
away.
So we thought she was fine and like, you know, she had a cut or whatever.
So we got some iodine and water and sprayed some iodine and water on it.
And we had spoken to the person we got the emu from.
And that's what they said to do.
Just put the iodine and water on it and she'll be good.
And unfortunately now we have a dead emu.
So we are going to have a little burial for our emu, right?
I don't want the burial!
I know, baby.
It's okay.
We got a buried emu.
That means she'll be on this property forever.
She's in heaven.
She's with Jesus.
What's wrong?
Your emu died?
I know, baby.
It's okay.
It's okay, baby.
It's okay.
She'll be okay.
She's with Jesus.
You picked out her little grave spot?
Yeah.
Is it special for her?
Yeah.
All right.
So I dug a little bit of a hole and I didn't really know how big of a hole I needed to dig.
So I went and grabbed the emu and now we're basically measuring out
how big of a hole we're gonna have to dig for our precious little cinnamon roll.
Good job, bakey girl.
This hole needs to be bigger.
Yeah, it does.
It's okay, baby.
It's okay.
This is a disaster.
I'm trying to make it perfect for her.
You are.
Are you doing okay?
Yeah.
Okay.
There is nothing like getting some A.C. after digging a hole in the hot summer sun.
So I got hydrated, got back out there to finish digging this grave.
Everyone say bye to cinnamon roll.
Say bye.
Are you confused?
It's okay.
Hey, buddy.
Now that cinnamon roll is buried next to her home,
it's time to go shower, get ready, and go get a little headstone for this little cinnamon roll.
And I know Blakely wants to get some flowers.
So let's go.
Is that good, Zae Zae?
You like that?
Is that good?
You need a spoon?
All right, baby girl, where are we at?
What are we getting?
For what?
I know.
Are you doing okay?
Doing better than this morning?
Yeah.
Okay, good.
Has mommy and daddy helped you to feel a little bit better?
Yeah.
Good.
All right, Bakey.
Pick the perfect flowers for her.
Yeah.
You like those ones?
Those are beautiful.
That's what you want?
You want that one?
You choose that one?
Bakey, those are huge flowers.
Those are huge and they're beautiful.
You like them?
Yeah.
Are those the ones you chose?
Yes, they're beautiful.
Okay, let's go paint.
So we're driving down to put the flowers on the grave
and I see little icing all by himself.
It's making me want to cry.
I feel so bad.
He's just like wandering around all by himself.
It's really sad.
All right, so we're at the gravesite.
We have the flowers.
We're gonna get out and say our final goodbyes
and give her the flowers that we got her.
All right, Baby, what are your final words
that you want to say to Cinnamon Roll?
First me?
All right, Cinnamon Roll.
You were spunky and crazy
and you would run around all the time
but you made our family very happy
and we're really sad.
We're really sad that you're no longer with us
but I hope that your grave was exactly what you would have wanted
and I'm sorry that we couldn't save you.
We love you so much, Cinnamon Roll.
Okay, what do you want to say?
She's listening to you, Baby.
What do you want to tell her?
Why was she not every single day?
Because she died, Baby, and that's what happens when you die.
You go see Jesus when you die.
So that's what happened to her.
She saw Jesus and now she's healed again.
Is she healed?
She's healed, yeah.
She's healed in heaven with Jesus.
Did she get healed on her death with Jesus?
Yep.
So what do you want to tell her?
I love you, Cinnamon Roll, and I used to play with you and I love you.
What do you want to say to Cinnamon Roll?
Goodbye, Cinnamon Roll.
I love you, Cinnamon Roll.
It's okay.
We'll see her again someday in heaven.
Bye, Cinnamon Roll.
We love you, Cinnamon Roll.
Bye, Cinnamon Roll.
You'll be with us forever, Cinnamon Roll.
How will we go to heaven?
I don't care.
Yeah, you guys are going to go to heaven a long time from now.
How do you think her grave is?
Um, beautiful.
You think it's beautiful?
Hey, I think.
Don't eat her flowers.
Hey, buddy.
Hey, bubs.
All right.
Obviously, this was a very unexpected and raw, real emotional video for us today.
This was not a part of the schedule or whatever we had going on.
Literally woke up this morning and our emu had passed away.
We wanted to share with you guys that, you know,
our family and our life isn't always sunshines, cupcakes, and rainbows.
We go through trials and sad things, especially owning a farm.
We want to teach our kids that it's not always going to be happy.
Like, things happen.
Nature happens.
And when you're owning a farm, at some point, you're going to lose an animal.
That's just a part of having a farm.
And it was a good lesson for our children, although it is absolutely heart-wrenching.
We are very, very, very sad to have lost her.
Some of y'all may say, she's just a bird.
So what?
But to us, she's family.
All of our animals are the same to us.
We got her as a little baby.
We grew up with her.
Well, she grew up with us, but we truly loved and love her.
We just want to thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of the good
moments and the bad.
Couldn't thank you guys enough because if it weren't for you guys, we definitely wouldn't
be here.
So with that being said, if you guys like today's video, smash that subscribe button
and we'll see you in the next one.
Thank you guys for watching.
Bye.
I'm crying again.
We love you guys so much and truly like just what he was saying that like we wouldn't be
here without you guys.
I'm just like really emotional today doing everything, but truly thank you guys so much.
And I'm pregnant and we lost an animal and it's just been a really hard day, but we thank
you guys so much.
And we love you all from the bottom of our hearts.
There is life and there is death, but we know that there is a heaven.
So we couldn't do that.
We love you all so much.
