Real life English Conversations for English Speaking Practice English Story for Beginners A2 B1

Let's be honest, English is hard. Grammar, sounds, phrasal verbs, total chaos. But here's the good news. You don't need a textbook, you need a screen to enjoy our everyday conversation. That's how you learn sentence structures, useful words, and how real people respond day by day. So stop overthinking, start watching. One click, real progress. And let's start with us. Wakey wakey. Just another work day. I'm so exhausted. If you're tired, just take the day off. No way that's happening. If he skips work, how's the rent getting paid? Still, if you're tired, you should make time to rest. You can't rest whenever you feel like it. Better to stay disciplined if you want success. Guys, it's way too early for this fight. Just five more minutes, please. That's my boy. Yeah right, the just five more minutes. The next thing you know, boom, day's over. You were late for work last time because of that excuse. Come on, it wasn't that serious. Uh-huh, don't you have a presentation today? Oh shoot, I forgot. I gotta get up. Thanks for reminding. Well, one nil for me. Next time it's my turn. A small act of kindness. I'll be late again for sure. I told you to hurry, but nope. You'd rather spend 15 minutes choosing outfits with Devil than catch your earlier bus. Relax, my dear, we'll make it. Oh no, my apples. Huh? I gotta help her. Hey, hey, the bus'll be here in three more minutes. We have no time for this. But I can't leave her like that. Yeah, you'd better do something. Here, let me help you. Oh, what a good man. All right, they're all safe in this bag now. Oh no. Oh, you're waiting for the bus. I'm so sorry, young man. You missed your bus because of me. It's okay. Waiting 10 more minutes won't make me late for work. This apple is for you. Thank you for helping this old lady. Thank you for this little gift. It made my day. Anyway, 2-0. Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. Small talk. Phew, still in time. Good morning, Jake. Oh, hi, Miss Williams. Just call me Mia. Mia, right, Mia. Talk to her, man. That's your crush. What should I even say? Anything. Just talk. Nice weather today, huh? Wonder where everyone are. Maybe they went out to get coffee. Oh, I see. Seriously? That's your pickup line? Angel taught you that boring stuff? Hey, help me, please. I really don't know what to say. Ask her if she likes coffee, then share your preferences. Oh, and don't forget to compliment her smile. That's the good one. Um, so do you drink coffee often? Not really. I actually prefer tea. But you seem like a coffee lover. Yes, a hot cup of black coffee in the morning. Helps me stay focused. Wow, no sugar? Isn't it too bitter? Well, your smile just made it a lot sweeter. Morning, guys. Why is it so quiet over here? Uh, nothing. Good morning, anyway. You did pretty well, Devil. You too, Angel. Uh-oh, look like someone's about to leave us. If you keep learning English like that, you won't make much progress. Stay with us a little longer, okay? Because the next conversations are going to be intense. It's the showdown between Angel and Devil. Who will win? Whose advice will Jake follow to make his choice? Let's not keep you waiting any longer. Let's continue. Asking for help. Jake, could you help me fix a file? I gotta leave for a while. It's urgent. Again? That's the third time this week. Just a help won't take so much time. Jake, you've got a meeting this afternoon, and your file's still not done. Yeah, but what if she gets upset? She needs to handle her own stuff. You can't do everything. It's just a small favor. You should know what to do. I've decided. Sorry, Sheila. I need to finish my file for the meeting. No problem. I'll take care of it. Thanks anyway. Wow, you actually listened. Because your choice is reasonable this time. 2-1 for you, man. I'm not into your betting games. I just want him to grow, that's all. That's deep. Important meeting. Oh, thank you. What do you think, Jake? I think it's okay. I see a few points to improve. You're giving feedback. I think it's fine. I'm still thinking. Don't overthink. Just share. Yeah, feedback helps us grow, not criticize. It's for doing better next time. So, I just say I have a comment? Yes, start with the good points. Compliment first, then constructive feedback. Okay. Excuse me, I have a comment. First, I really liked your presentation. Oh, thank you. I just have a small suggestion. If the text color were bolder, it would stand out more and help the audience focus. The thin font doesn't highlight the product images. That's my opinion. Thanks, that's helpful. I'll keep it in mind. Oh, and your slides look great. Shopping time. Awesome. I think we deserve some delicious mushroom pasta. And you're gonna cook it, right? Yeah, as long as you wash the dishes and set the table. Yes, boss. Oh, Jake, look. The newest jacket of the year. Dude, it's 350 bucks. So what? We're getting paid soon. Let's get matching ones. Sounds good. Not good at all. That's like half a month's food budget. But Jake's been working hard. He should treat himself. A treat could be an ice cream. If he buys the jacket, he'll have to tighten his belt in case of an emergency. Now that I think about it, Angel's got a point. If you want to buy something that expensive, save up for a special day like your birthday. Okay, I got it. Thank you both. Ken, I think we shouldn't buy that one. But why? We're old enough to start managing our spending. Even though I really love that jacket. Fine, let's treat ourselves to a chocolate ice cream instead. Yeah, good idea. My wallet won't get hurt anyway. Dinner and friends. Whoa, this pasta was really good. I'm glad you liked it. But hey, don't try to skip the dishes. No worries. You know what? I really admire you. Why's that? You can balance logic and emotions. Sometimes you're full of compassion. Other times you're very logical when making decisions. You know, I always think of myself as having two friends, Angel and Devil. Angel stands for compassion, helping me decide whether to help someone. Devil is more logical, helping me say no and focus on what really matters. Yeah, but even when they show up, the decision's still yours. Having those two friends is just a way of looking at a problem from different angles. At the end of the day, you're still the one making the choice. Wow, that's pretty deep, Ken. But eventually, we'll all learn to make decisions through real-life experience. Well, I guess you're right. I'll go do the dishes now. You've got a good friend. Yeah, real good one. Come on, you two are my good friends too. Bedtime. Come on, you two, you've been arguing all day. It's bedtime for me. It's his fault. He says I'm too emotional and always thinking about others. Well, aren't you? You gotta put your own feelings first sometimes. Yeah, and if I only think about myself, that's just being selfish. Hey, chill, both of you. You're both right, depending on the situation. Fine, fair point. Okay, I agree. I need you both on my team, not fighting like this. I know I wouldn't be able to grow and succeed without any of you. Aw, that's so sweet. That's cheesy, but fine, I'll take the compliment. Anyway, I really do want to thank you both. Now, let's put this aside and get some sleep. Tomorrow we'll have plenty of exciting things waiting for us. Okay, I think that's enough for today. Agree. No more fights at night. Good night, Jake. Good night, you both. I don't have money through. I want that chocolate cake so bad. Yeah, same. I don't have money through. Huh? What did you just say? I said, I don't have money through. Oh, you mean though, not through. Aren't they the same? They sound the same. Though means but, through is like going through a tunnel. Oh, so I basically said I don't have money to go through the tunnel. Pretty much. Okay, I'll say it right this time. I want cake. I don't have money though. There you go. Perfect grammar with a side of sadness. Yeah, grammar is correct. Wallet's still empty though. Oh, egg. Chapter five is so interesting. Allison, the water's been boiling for 15 minutes. What are you cooking? Eggs. Hard boiled eggs. You're trying to make dino eggs? Is that bad? I thought the longer the better? Uh, no. Overcooked eggs are dry, hard to peel, and lose nutrients. Seriously? Yes. So how long should I boil them? Six minutes for soft yolk, nine minutes for medium, and 11 minutes for fully cooked. Then soak in cold water. I didn't know eggs needed this much. Eggs need careful handling, got it? Ugh, egg! Why didn't someone tell me sooner? Failing to plan is planning to fail. That's a good question, but let me explain. Uh, Max, who are you talking to? I'm just talking to myself. It sounds like you're doing a whole interview in there. It's for my presentation tomorrow. You know what they say. What? Failing to plan is planning to fail. Okay, so you're... Playing both roles, the speaker and the audience. I ask tough questions, then answer them. Helps me stay calm when it's showtime. Hey, that's so cool. Can I use that for language learning too? Totally. It trains you how to speak, how to react, and also your confidence. You get to practice fluency before the real thing. Try it. Okay, so I stand here and say, Hello, my name is Michael. I love fries, and I'm very smart. See? You're a natural. Alright, I'll try again tomorrow. Good luck with your... Presentation. Thanks. Now, where was I? Oh, right. Complaining boyfriend. I just want to lose three kilos before the trip. That's it. Then just order those pills I saw online. Burn fat while sleeping. Easy. You really think that works? Look, 50% off. Before and after photos. Instant results. That's not healthy. I just want to run or hit the gym. What's going on here? Fitness drama. She doesn't want to try the easy method. I found real fat-burning pills online. Online? Oh yeah, right, of course. Listen up, little bro. Those ads are often fake. No approval. No science. Just marketing lies. Yeah, real healthy weight loss takes time like a balanced diet, exercise, and sleep. No shortcut. Okay, I just thought I was helping. Next time he talks nonsense, you change. Change? What? Change your boyfriend. I know at least three guys who love running and tofu. Better than this complaining one. Wait, I'll support the gym. Ha, works every time. Hmm, I'll consider it. Lucy, no! Last call. I still can't believe you tripped in front of the entire room. I was in a rush. Hey folks, just a heads up. This is the last call. Wait, last call? For what? Someone calling us? Oh genius, it means it's your last chance to order drinks. But he said last call. That sounds like a phone call. Nah man, it just means we're about to close. So if you want one more drink, now's the time. After that, the bar is done for the night. Oh, so it's not like a bartender calling you personally. Sorry about him. Can you bring him a brain? Even a small one? That actually doesn't sound so bad. I'll have another one of these. Same here. All right, two drinks and one brain coming right up. I'm going to get my eyes checked and get new glasses. You okay? Why are you squinting at your phone like that? Oh, I think my eyes are getting worse. Didn't you just get new glasses? That was five years ago. These things are basically vintage now. I can't see anything clearly anymore. Yikes, go get your eyes checked already. I did, booked an appointment this afternoon. I'm gonna get my eyes checked and get new glasses, finally. Oh, can I come? I love judging people in weird looking frames. You mean helping me choose, right? I mean what I said. Hi, I have an appointment. I'm here to get my eyes checked and maybe find new glasses. Sure, take a seat. Try the black ones. They make your face look less confused. I just want to see my coffee without guessing. Good vision makes life easier. I need friends who help, not laugh. Too bad, no refunds for friends. What? It's not even a bear. The American black bear is an excellent tree climber. See mom, black bears climb trees. Brown bears usually don't, too big. I don't really care about those. I just love koala bears. They're adorable. You know, koalas aren't actually bears, right? What? It's not even a bear? But it says koala bear. That's just the nickname. They're pouch animals, like kangaroos. They carry babies in pouches. But they look like tiny tree-hugging bears. Cute, yes. Bears, no. So what's next, dad? Red pandas aren't pandas either? Technically, no. Not real pandas. Wow, this animal world is a lie.
