In this video we take a look at the best song on every Taylor Swift album to make up for last video looking at the worst song on every album. Let me know what you think and if you want me to rank anything else by T-Swift!
What's up everybody, welcome to Podcast Now, I'm Alex and I'm here today to talk about the best song on every Taylor Swift album.
Now before I start, I just want to quickly talk about, very briefly, the video I made last week on Taylor Swift.
I talked about the worst song on every album.
Now I know not everybody is disagreeing, not everybody is disliking, not everybody is commenting on it,
but I do want to talk about some of the people that were calling me, like, haters, or I'm a hater,
talking about how I, you know, I'm going against her, going against her work.
I know those are probably the idiots of the world, of the Taylor Swift community.
I wish Taylor Swift's community didn't have any of those people on it, because there's no doubt who I am.
I mean, if they saw any of the past videos I've ever made, they would know that I'm not hating on Taylor Swift.
That was just a video to talk about some of her weaker songs.
She's not a perfect human being, she's not a perfect musician, she's made some bad songs.
That's all that video was. I love her, I love her music.
We have so many videos talking about her and her music.
It's ridiculous, actually. It's actually laughable, but slightly annoying to see people saying that I'm against her.
Like, it's not the only video I've ever made.
So I know, you know, if you're watching this video, that may not have been you.
Just wanted to quickly say it.
So in this video, to kind of counteract last video, we're going to be talking about the best song on every album.
And we're just going to jump right in.
Now, here's the thing. If you've been with us for a while, if you've been subscribed, if you've watched all our videos,
you'll know these, because in each album review, I have talked about my favorite song on each album.
So I'm really just going to kind of recap each of the albums and why I picked the song that I picked.
But if you want a bigger explanation, I said that for the other video too,
I broke down basically every song she's ever made, except for a couple songs that just didn't make it in the album.
That she's made for movies before, I haven't really talked about those much.
But I was going to actually do a different video, a different list kind of this week,
but I felt that, you know, there was a lot of criticism on the last video,
so I felt like, well, let's counteract it with a positive video on Taylor Swift.
You know, just like all the other ones.
So, starting with her first album, Taylor Swift.
Now, again, I like this album. I don't think it has that many good songs.
My worst song of all time, my least favorite, Tim McGraw, is on this album.
But my best song, my favorite song on this album, is Mary's song.
Again, if you had watched my album review of this, it's the first Taylor Swift video I think we ever made,
you'll see that I said that as well.
And it hasn't changed my mind, I haven't been persuaded by her songs.
There's some other really good songs on there, Perfectly Good Heart, and others.
But, you know, Mary's song tells, I think, the best story.
And people were asking, you know, last time, what about the lyrics?
What do you think of the lyrics?
Mary's song has fantastic lyrics.
Not just that, it tells a great story, yes, it tells a great portrayal.
I think it's very mature and great storytelling, lyrically,
from a person that at the time was only 16 years old.
And when she wrote it, she was probably 15 or 14.
So I think it shows real maturity in her to be able to even write basically a short story through lyrics.
And I really like it, you know, it's talking about a story of people getting old together,
and their families, and how they react, and how they react to each other as they get older,
and what it was like the first time they met.
And I thought, I think, that that's an incredible idea.
The song itself is really, really good.
All the musical instruments sound really good in it.
Her voice, I think this is one of the best portrayals of her voice back then.
I think that's one of the best vocal songs that she sang back then.
So I really, really love that song.
I've always loved that song.
It's kind of a more deep cut.
I don't see many people talking about it.
I know when I reviewed that album, I think a couple people said,
like, yeah, Mary's song is totally underrated.
We could definitely have a video soon, and probably will, of her most underrated songs.
Mary's song would be almost at the very top of that, because I think that's a fantastic song.
On Fearless, it's not much of a competition.
I think it's Love Story.
I think Love Story is one of the best songs Taylor Swift has ever made.
The music video is phenomenal.
But just the song itself, you know, when you first hear it.
And it's a classic.
It's a song that you can hear still on the radio, and people know that it's her.
Once you start hearing the strumming in the very beginning and all that,
I mean, it just takes you right in.
And, you know, it's a Romeo and Juliet tale.
It's, like I've always said, and I've said this several times at this point now,
it's the country aspect done well with the pop.
Because it's a fast-paced, it's a catchy-ish song,
but it's also got a more orchestral sound to it,
and it has a lot of her instruments going.
And I feel like Fearless, again, is the first album that she really starts to hone in on
what makes this country sound that she has.
How can I kind of reel it back and mix it better with pop,
and kind of make them, you know, more of a flow together?
Because in the first album, Taylor Swift, she just didn't have that.
But in this album, she definitely does.
And I think Love Story is the perfect combination of everything together,
and I think it just makes one hell of a song,
both lyrically, both musically, both how it just sounds.
Her voice is awesome.
Like I said, the music video is a really clever and really high-production,
really just beautiful music video all around.
So that is, by far, there are some other good songs.
You Know You Belong With Me is a very, very good song.
I have one of my favorite songs on that album is Hey Steven,
which I think is a little bit underrated overall.
But there are several really good songs.
Change is a really good song.
But Love Story is definitely my favorite on this album.
There's no competition for Speak Now.
Now, Speak Now is her best album I think she's ever made.
That's my personal opinion.
I ranked the albums twice, one without reputation and one with.
And Speak Now was at the top both times.
I don't think I'll ever change my mind.
I don't think she'll ever make an album quite like Speak Now.
That doesn't mean she can't make an album better than Speak Now.
But she can definitely, I don't think she can ever replicate that kind of sound.
There are so many fantastic songs on that album, so many.
Hey, you know, in the last video I talked about some of my least favorites.
And Never Grew Up and Last Kiss definitely fought each other for my least favorite.
I picked Last Kiss.
I know a lot of people did pick Never Grew Up.
I kind of forgot about that song, honestly, when I was looking down at it.
Never Grew Up is actually written shorter, smaller than the rest of them.
But yeah, I did kind of forget about Never Grew Up.
That's not the best song.
It's just another very slow song.
But bottom line, Enchanted is the best song.
Enchanted, in my opinion, is the best song she's ever made.
One day we will have a top Taylor.
Maybe I'll rank every single song.
I don't know.
That would be one crazy, crazy list.
But I would eventually like to rank her songs in general.
But Enchanted, I think, is her best song ever created.
I think it's the best song on Speak Now just by that.
I think it's the best song she's ever made.
Haunted is easily one of my favorites.
I saw some people say they didn't like Haunted, their least favorite album.
I think Haunted is a phenomenal orchestral kind of sound.
And she does that quite often here.
I really like Dear John.
I really like Back to December.
I really like Mine.
There's a lot of really, really, really good songs.
Long Live.
The list goes literally on and on because they're a story of us.
But Enchanted, I think, is just overall, it tells a great story.
Her voice is probably the best that I've ever heard her.
At least I like her voice the most in this song than ever before.
And just the sound.
The sound and how they even go back and forth with how she sounds.
And the music in the background.
One of my favorite songs just in general.
Actually, one of my favorite songs by any artist is Enchanted by Taylor Swift.
I know how to play on the guitar.
It's a really phenomenal song in every way.
So that's by far my favorite song on this album.
Now on Red, I had said before that Sad, Beautiful, Tragic was my favorite song on Red.
I don't think I necessarily declared it my favorite.
And I still somewhat put it as my favorite.
I think Red is very hard to decide because Red has some not-so-good songs, like I had said before in my last video.
And Red took a while to grow on me, but I truly love a lot of the songs.
I will go through them very, very quickly.
State of Grace is actually one of my favorite songs she's ever made.
That is a contender.
Red, I do like Red. I don't think it's the greatest song.
Treacherous, I really started to like it.
I Knew You Were Trouble, really like it.
All Too Well, yeah, that's a good song.
22, personal favorites.
I Almost Do, eh.
We Were Never Ever Getting Back Together, that's really good.
Stay, Stay, Stay, decent.
Last Time, my least favorite.
Holy Ground is definitely picking up steam because I love Holy Ground.
But here's the thing.
Sad, Beautiful, Tragic comes right after.
I know a lot of people said that it just feels out of place because it's so slow and it's so different.
I like that. That's why I like it.
I like that it's very slow.
I like that it's completely different.
I like the guitar patterns.
I like her singing.
I like it's more like pulled back kind of approach where she sounds like farther away.
And the lyrics kind of reflect that.
It's a beautiful kind of song.
So I really like it's placement after Holy Ground.
But Holy Ground is a fantastic song too.
The Lucky One, I'm not a fan.
Everything Has Changed, that's a good one.
Starlight has always been one of my favorites.
Begin Again, that one's starting to build up because I think that's a really good song as well.
And there's the three bonus songs that really aren't that good.
So I still say it's Sad, Beautiful, Tragic.
But just reading through them, I really like a lot.
State of Grace could be it.
Treacherous could be it.
Holy Ground, Starlight, Begin Again.
There's probably six or seven songs on here besides Sad, Beautiful, Tragic that you could argue for the best song on the album.
And I wouldn't say you're wrong at all.
I really, really like this album more now than ever.
And I think it's got some of the strongest songs that she's ever made.
1989, I said it was Shake It Off, and I still think it's Shake It Off.
There are a lot of good songs in 1989.
There are a lot of consistent songs.
Picking a worse song in 1989, I think, is harder than possibly picking a better song
because I think the songs are all super close and super consistent.
It's very hard to say one is really, really bad.
And by the way, I think I picked I Know Places as my least favorite, but it's not a bad song.
I think they're all very close.
This Love was a close one, but, I mean, they're all very, very consistent.
There are some that stand above.
I mean, I really do like Blank Space.
I really do because all you had to do was stay.
Obviously, Shake It Off is a good one.
I Wish You Would I really like.
Wildest Dreams I kind of like too.
How You Get the Girl is a really, really good song.
Clean, the first time I heard Clean, I really, really enjoyed it.
I like it more and more every time.
Wonderland and New Romantics.
New Romantics is probably my second favorite.
I'd say it's probably Shake It Off and New Romantics.
But again, this is a very hard one to pick, but I still think Shake It Off.
You know, it has never gotten old to me.
I know it had gotten on a lot of people's nerves because it was played so often,
but I really do think it's a phenomenal song.
Very high-paced.
Love the message.
I like, you know, she's just going against haters and going, you know,
you can say all you want.
I'm just going to shake.
Like, I really like that.
I really like that.
I think it shows a lot about her personality, and that really shines throughout this entire album.
But definitely, that is my favorite song on 1989.
Reputation, now I had Ranked.
This is an easy one.
And if you want to know the reasoning for this one,
I have a video where I literally ranked every single song on Reputation.
I went least, I went, like, worst to best.
And I said Ready For It is my favorite song.
And I still agree with that.
Ready For It is definitely my favorite song on that.
It's very fast-paced.
It's the first song on the album.
It was my favorite of the four songs when they first came out,
when she was releasing the singles, Ready For It.
Always stood above the rest of them the first time I heard it.
I really, really enjoyed it.
I like her more fast-tempo voice, the more kind of, like, rap, pop sound that she has there.
Really, really good.
The music video, I think, is the most creative music video she's ever made.
But I truly, truly love that song.
There's some others.
There's definitely New Year's Day, I think, is a really good song that I think people forget about.
Although, when I was reading some of the people's listings of it,
New Year's Day was high on a lot of them.
And there are, you know, End Game, I think a lot of people like it.
I tend to like End Game a little bit more now.
I still don't like Future's part in it.
I Did Something Bad is a fantastic song.
I personally really like Gorgeous, and I think Gorgeous is a big split.
I think a lot of people like it and a lot of people hate it.
So there's that.
Get Away Car, I think, is a really popular song.
I personally really like Dancing With Your Hands Tied.
I'd probably say that's, like, my second favorite song on the album.
I know, for some, it's either one of their top favorites or it's always their least favorite.
So I don't know, really, what's up with Dancing With Our Hands Tied.
But I do really like that song, and I like a lot of songs on the album.
But Ready For It's definitely my personal favorite.
But I can see, again, you know, I Did Something Bad, New Year's Day, End Game.
I can see, you know, any of those ones.
Get Away Car, I can see those ones.
Gorgeous being in that listing.
So there you have it.
There are my favorite songs on each of Taylor Swift's albums.
Kind of, again, to contradict what I did last week with the worst songs.
Huge Taylor Swift fan.
You would know that if you actually watched the videos.
For those that had watched the last one and disagreed or said I was a hater or anything.
So, you know, again, I wasn't planning on doing this video right away.
I was actually going to wait on this.
But I decided to put it out earlier just to kind of, you know, cool the temper of some people that
I wanted to just prove, again, that I'm not a Taylor Swift hater.
So we're going to have many more lists.
I'm planning at least one video a week for the next little while.
I'm hoping to do around one a week for an indefinite period of time
just talking about whatever I want to talk about.
Again, a ranking kind of video for more songs is coming.
I want to talk about the underrated songs.
I want to talk about her music videos.
And I have a couple other lists as well.
Maybe like the best lyrics that she's ever written songs.
So if you have any ideas of videos or lists that you want me to do on Taylor Swift,
let me know in the comments below.
I have a couple ideas already.
But I definitely will do anything you guys ask me to.
That's what this channel is all about.
So thank you guys for watching.
And I'll see you on the next Taylor Swift video.
