OpeThe Forbidden Head Teachings: Why The Buddha Never Taught Blind Compassion
Stop practicing "Blind Compassion." The Buddha taught that the Head (Wisdom) must guide the Heart (Emotion) to be truly effective. Your mind must be like a River, not a cup, to dilute the salt of bad karma. Even if bandits cut you with a Saw, you must maintain goodwill to protect yourself. If someone is nasty, be like a traveler slurping water from a Cow Footprint—find the tiny good to save yourself.
