Trilateral Peace Talks Between US, Ukraine, and Russia Start in Geneva
Trilateral peace talks between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia started in Geneva on Tuesday, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, confirmed on Telegram.
Still photographs showing members of the U.S., Russian, and Ukrainian delegations were released by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
Negotiators from Ukraine and Russia gathered in Geneva for two days of U.S.-mediated peace talks that will focus on the main sticking point of territory, with President Donald Trump pressing Kyiv to act fast to reach a deal.
Ahead of the talks, Russia carried out heavy airstrikes overnight across swathes of Ukraine, inflicting severe damage on the power network in the southern port city of Odesa, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said left tens of thousands without heat and water.
