Misty Birch Forest at Sunrise | Watercolor Landscape Painting
hello everyone let's paint a quiet birch forest today with the partially frozen stream. I have
wetted the paper thoroughly and covering it with yellow ochre. I have turned the board upside down
and covering the forest with phthalo blue redshed ultramarine and neutral tint. With watery phthalo
blue redshed I am covering the snow covered field. You can paint this quiet landscape with me on my
patreon you will also get the sketch and the reference link is in pinned comment.
I have placed the board in its proper position back and painting the yellow sages with yellow
ochre first. Take some raw umber and burnt umber to increase the saturation. You can mix some sepia
and repeat the process until you reach the desired saturation or depth.
Now for the frozen part of the stream I am taking some phthalo blue redshed and ultramarine.
Now put some shadow over it with the same color mixes I used for the background.
I am taking some sepia to put some dark shadows over the dried sages.
After wetting the background I am layering it with the same paints.
On that wet background I am going to paint few yellowish tree with yellow ochre and sepia.
For the water and the reflection on the stream I will first put some yellow ochre to give that
warm glow and then I will put the shadow of the trees over it with some dark sepia.
Finally I will just let it dry and remove the masking fluid. Here I am going to show you how
I painted the birch trees. I will first layer it with very diluted phthalo blue redshed.
Then paint the base of those trees with neutral tint. Also you can put some texture over the top
part of those trees some diluted some pale and some dark. After painting each tree separately
the painting has been done. See you next time with another painting till then happy painting.
