Simple Valentine's Day Decor Ideas / Cozy Valentine's Day Decorating 2026
You know the saying, if you can't beat them, then you join them. Well,
that's why I'm using chat GPT to help, you know,
give me some ideas on how to decorate my space for Valentine's day.
Now it's right around the corner.
And if you want to add some small touches around your house,
just to make it feel a little bit more loving,
then watch today's video because all of the tips that I'm giving you today are
super simple to implement in your own home.
And you can also use these ideas, not just for Valentine's day,
but for other seasons and decor spaces as well.
So let's jump right in. If you're having difficulty with your space,
sometimes Pinterest doesn't always exactly show you what your space looks like.
So I'm plugging in a picture of my mantle and my living room to chat GPT and
saying, Hey, help me decorate this space. And voila,
I now have an inspo pic to go off of.
Now I could go further and be like, Hey,
take away those bows or do this and that. And they could change it for me,
but I feel like this is doable. So it's not going to be a hundred percent exact,
but I'm definitely going to add some minimal pieces to the decor that I already
have just to like freshen up the space.
If you're new here, welcome. My name is Michelle.
I am so glad to have you here.
I'm a mom of three and the mission of my channel is to help you enhance your
home with different tips, tricks,
and ideas and also to empower your mind with inspiration and motivation.
So I'd love for you to join this community.
And also if you have ever felt called to create by sharing your mission and
message here through YouTube,
but you're not sure where to start or the process seems overwhelming. Well,
I have created a program just for you.
It's called the called to create beginner course where you will learn how to
create and post your first video in five days and grow beyond.
So check out my link below for more details and you can always write me a
comment if you have questions,
but let's go ahead and get started here in the living room,
decorating this console table.
My goal with decorating seasonally is that I have a lot of decorations already.
I've been on YouTube for over five years doing lots of different seasonal
decorating and before being on YouTube, I never did a lot.
So one of the struggles is that I don't want all of this extra stuff that I have
to store all these extra decorations.
So how can I decorate a space minimally using what I already have because I
don't like taking everything down and putting new things up,
but just buying a few new pieces here and there. So with seasonal decorating,
I do, the sun was like totally right in my eye.
It's where the kitchen window kind of hits was just a bad timing.
But for Valentine's, I've never really fully decorated.
So I did head over to Hobby Lobby and I picked up some floral pieces and then I
saw this really pretty picture and I decided to pick that up as well.
In my inspo pic from AI or chat GBT,
they had a couple of flower vases and I saw this really,
really pretty urn type vase and it says it's not intended with water use.
So I'm going to have to get creative and put flowers in there.
But also when picking out pieces,
I like to pick out items that I can use for different seasons as well.
So it's not super,
super specific to the season because I can reuse this not only for Valentine's
day, but also for spring and summer as well.
I picked out the picture of the floral bouquet instead of picking out a picture
that has hearts on it. Then with the floral bouquet, I can, um,
you know, continue to use that on through spring.
So just being intentional with the things that I do buy and where I can get
multi-use out of them.
Now one of the things I personally love to do with every seasonal decorating is
to add real flowers.
Usually do this with table decor and table scapes because that means I don't
have to buy a bunch of fake flowers and then figure out where to store them.
I can have real flowers, make a beautiful table piece centerpiece and then their
time is up. Then I can create something new with new flowers.
If you're more intentional about your decorating and not wanting to over
purchase and over store all of this stuff, then that is a great thing to do.
The obvious con to this is that they don't last very long and sometimes they can
get kind of expensive.
Now I'd love to go to Trader Joe's for all of my flowers and florals because you
can mix and match.
They have such a variety and they're super reasonably priced.
I did not make it to Trader Joe's and I wanted to get this video out.
So I went to my local grocery store and I only bought two dozen roses.
They would have been cheaper if I went to Trader Joe's and then one mix and
match floral arrangement, which is what I am using here.
So I think it turned out super cute, super simple,
and I'm going to use that over on the console table in the living room.
Before we jump back to today's video,
I have to tell you about the new Intimates that I have been loving and they
are all from skim and honestly these have completely replaced my old bras.
Okay, so I don't know about y'all,
but my experience over the years with bras is one,
they are either comfortable but not supportive or they are supportive but very
uncomfortable. Never both.
It would be like the straps would be too thick and always show through my shirts
or the padding was shift around all day while I was trying to chase my kids or
they would dig into the side and you know that pocket of skin that would hang
over. Yeah, nobody likes that. So as a busy mom running around all day,
I want something that is soft,
comfortable and easy to move around in and that's exactly why I keep going back
to skims because their pieces are made of such good quality.
They're incredibly soft and they are so comfortable to move around in.
So lately I've been rotating between these three bras and let me tell you why I
love each of them. So the first is the fits everybody scoop bralette.
And this one is super comfortable.
This is my go to for lounging around the house on lazy days because it feels so
comfortable, almost like I'm wearing nothing.
This one is the fits everybody Demi bra and onyx.
What I love about this one is that it still gives me the support I need with the
underwire, but it's so soft,
thin and comfortable that it literally feels like I'm not even wearing a bra.
And the last one,
which I'm wearing now is the fits everybody t-shirt bra and I love the neutral
color that I'm wearing here is sand.
This is the one that I grab when I want a little bit more shape in my t-shirts
and shirts, but also gives a smooth coverage.
What I really love about skims is that they actually solve real problems.
So digging into your skin,
no shifting of all of the padding and no super bulky straps that show through
t-shirts and shirts.
It's just support and comfort and I honestly recommend them to all of my friends
because there is literally something for everyone.
Gems offers over 40 cup sizes and offers sizes extra,
extra small all the way up to four X.
They literally have something for everyone, a bigger chest size,
a smaller chest size, whatever your shape is,
you can find something that actually fits and that's rare.
So if you want to try out my favorites,
then head over to skims.com or scan the QR code on the screen to shop through my
personal page. So after you place your order,
make sure you let them know I sent you select YouTube in the survey and choose
my show, Michelle O'Malley in the dropdown.
So thank you to skims for sponsoring today's video and if you try out their
intimates, I promise you won't regret it.
It can also be good for Valentine's day gifts,
but I made this arrangement and I'm going to go ahead and put it over here in
this corner next to my flower picture. All right,
so for Christmas decorating,
I mentioned and you may already know this,
but you can just add bows to everything. Bows are very trendy right now.
They're cute and they are the easiest,
cheapest and simplest way to add festive style to any of your pots,
vases, candles, whatnot.
I like to think of them as complimentary pieces,
so they're not going to be like your bam, wow, look at this,
but they just compliment what it is you want to highlight and I'm obsessed with
velvet, so I grabbed some velvet ribbon from Amazon and I usually don't like
buying some of this.
The garlandy stuff can come off a little cheesy in my opinion,
but my chat GPT picture posted it and when I went to Hobby Lobby it was like
four or $5 and I was just like, you know what?
I am going to add it just to make a statement.
Now the issue I had with this is I wasn't sure where or how to hang it,
so I do have some command cords inside my drawer.
This is actually where I've hung my stockings off of a couple of times,
so whenever I'm trying to get it,
it's like all uneven and it actually takes me like 20 minutes or so to figure
out how to put this on. At the end I kind of give up,
so it's a little bit uneven, but you kind of get the picture.
It's actually heavy and wooden, so when it hangs down it starts to fall,
so that's why I have to kind of hook it in the middle there.
But anyway, I think that it turns out pretty cute.
I was able to keep all of the decor pieces I had,
so I don't have to store anything and I had taken out those hydrangeas because I
thought that the brownish color would clash with the pink,
but I think that it looks better with the hydrangeas. I don't know.
You guys let me know. So I feel like it's minimal.
It's simple, which coming from me, I'm not super minimalist,
but for seasonal decor other than Christmas,
I do like just keeping it simple.
But here is my chat GPT image,
which has a few bouquets and kind of that centerpiece and the garland going on.
And then here is my simplified version of that.
Let's move on to the mantle.
I'm trying to pick out a really pretty, um,
what is it called? Frame. So whatever. I'm going to do that one.
I'm going to do it in pink.
And then here is my chat GPT inspo pic for my mantle.
So if you have not been following along,
guess all of the garland on my mantle is from Christmas.
And because I liked it so much,
I decided to keep it up and use it throughout a few seasons.
I'll probably take it down after spring or so,
but I figured why not just decorate seasonally and keep it up.
So when my chat GPT picture was basically all roses,
just adding it to the garland, I was like, yeah, I can do that.
It's simple enough, not over the top.
And I did order some fake roses on Amazon.
I went to Hobby Lobby and you know, at Hobby Lobby,
when the florals not 50% off, you just can't buy it, right?
Because you know that next week it's going to be 50% off.
So anyway, I kind of went on the wrong week.
So I just ended up ordering that little rose bouquet from Amazon.
And then that is what I'm going to use to add it to this mantle.
Girl, I can tell that you have something on your mind,
but I will make you forget all your sorrows.
Let go like there's no tomorrow.
Let's have a drink.
Just relax.
All your problems will fade.
If you're ready for a good time, count on me.
There's a party in the backyard.
Dance your problems away.
I'm all about the good vibes.
I know you're all about the good.
So my kids love when the house is decorated for a specific season.
And for whatever reason, I picked this picture,
the deer with all of the beautiful flowers.
And when my son got home, who's three years old, he's like, Mom,
can we please go there after school and go see the deer?
I was like, I would love to go there after school.
I just don't know where it is.
So for now, we're just going to bring that place home.
Let go like there's no tomorrow.
Let's have a drink.
Just relax.
So another idea for multipurpose items is instead of buying ribbon or buying bows,
I saw these sitting there at Hobby Lobby and I grabbed some.
I'm like, these are perfect for the girls.
So if I use them in my as a decor piece, I can also use them in their hair.
So here is my AI decor inspo.
And here is how it turned out.
If I had a couple more bows, I would add them.
But I ran out of ribbon.
But it's a little bit simpler than that photo.
But I again, I love how it turned out.
So next, I am going to create a tablescape, which is my new favorite thing to do,
I think. And I was over at our local grocery store.
I saw those little lights and I bought them, but I'll add them to my decor piece later.
But first, I'm going to set up the basics, which I have three candlesticks that I rotate
in and out for different seasons, just as regular decor pieces.
Sometimes I pull them out for Christmas decor pieces.
But a great way is, again, just add ribbon to what you already have, add bows to what
you already have. And voila, you have a seasonal decor piece.
Next, I'm going to prep the table and show you how to create a simple tablescape, even
if you have kids.
So I like to use this big tray so that if I ever have to move the table piece, if my
kids are trying to grab it or whatever, or we need to do homework or we need space, I
just simply push it back and then we eat, we do what we need to do, and then I push
it back to the middle.
So I would love to decorate the whole table, but then my kids would start pulling on
napkins and tablecloths and whatever.
So I'm like, this is the most practical way that I can do this.
And I also want it to last longer than like one setting.
So last year I went and bought from Amazon, I think it came in a pack of 30, all of
these little glass vases.
And this is literally my third time creating a similar tablescape using these same
pieces. So for every single season, occasion, hosting party, I can just buy flowers and
then use those flowers in these glass vases.
So that's exactly what we're going to do here with the two different bouquets that I
bought. I am just going to cut them and I pulled out 24 glass vases and I'm going to
put one rose in each vase.
So I'm going to show you how easy and simple this is to do.
And instead of just having one big bunch that you put in one vase, it spreads it out.
And I promise it makes it look so cool, so unique, so different and literally like you
are going to be a pro at this.
All right, you have your 24 mini vases and now let's add a little bit of greenery.
Again, I'm reusing candles I've already had, just adding some floppy velvet ribbon and
putting a little bit of greenery underneath it.
And then now we are just going to spread out the vases into the tray.
Now, my whole goal was to have all of the vases fit in the tray.
So I had 24 vases, but I realized that I wasn't going to have enough room.
So I decided to get creative with the remaining vases.
But I'll show you that in just a second.
So remember the little fairy lights I showed you?
I do like to get festive fairy lights for every time I decorate every season.
So these are little roses and you can use these again for the springtime or for a random
romantic dinner night.
If you love festive tablescapes, I have two videos from last year for spring and Easter.
So I'll link them down below if you want to see what I did last year using this same
concept. Next, I'm going to use silver and gold chargers.
I only have six of each color, so I'm going to mix and match.
But I also have these white plates, so the white plates can go with any season.
So that's why I like having just one set of like base decorative plates, you can say.
But in order to add some seasonality or color into it, I decided this year to actually
get paper plates.
That way I'm not storing tons and tons of dinnerware for every single event.
You can just add paper plates to your nice, you know, dinner plates that you already have.
Now, I know some people will find that cheesy, but I mean, this is for my kids, my family,
my husband, and we like paper plates.
We're in the season of life where anything simple and less messy is a win.
So I have the extra vases left over.
So I am just going to add one little vase and rose on each plate.
Now I have light green glasses, and I feel like these glasses go with every season.
Spring, because I'm always having a lot of florally stuff.
Valentine's, obviously, because I'm always making flower arrangements.
Christmastime, you name it.
I can incorporate these green glasses into just about every season.
Now, lastly, I'm just going to add a few of the rose leaves to the plates to just add
an extra touch.
Now, I realize you can add napkins and silverware, but for now, I am so pleased with how it turned
out.
It's simple, yet it just makes a big statement, and I can already feel the love in the air.
But let me know what you guys thought about this video.
I hope that you enjoyed it.
I realize that you don't have to go crazy or over the top.
Just adding a few simple things here and there can make a big difference.
But I'll see you in my next video.
