In this video I will share how I will remove my succulent flower stalks and what to do with them after. I love my succulent flowers but I need to remove them due to mealy bugs infestation. Some of you always ask if we can keep the flowers, yes , you can but make sure you take a look at them more often to avoid bugs and to take an action right away when you noticed it.
Hello succulent lovers, this is Penamaran ESA and welcome to my channel.
So for today's video, I would love to show you how we are going to remove all of these flower stuff.
On the last video, I showed you the reason why we should keep them or we should need to get rid of
them. To those of you who hasn't watched it yet, I will put the link on the upper right corner of
this video so you can check it out. By the way, if you want to see more succulent videos,
make sure to subscribe in our YouTube channel and don't forget to hit that notification bell
so you will be updated every time I have a new upload videos. So let's begin removing our
succulent flowers. So make sure you sanitize your tools that you're going to use. You can wipe it
with a tissue, with alcohol or you can spray them with alcohol. Either way, it's gonna work.
So make sure you wipe them all just because you prevent any diseases from other plants to
transfer to another plants. So they have two ways to remove your succulent flower stalk. First,
you can use it using the tools or you can just remove the flower stalk just by pulling it.
The first one is right here like this. I'm going to show you. We're just going to twist it just
like this and see that? You see that thing there in the bottom? They also have a mealybugs hiding
from it. So this is one of the reasons why I am going to remove all of these flowers.
So if you're going to check it here, the succulents looking healthy and they don't
have anything from it. But if you look underneath, it's very hard to tell but you can see they have
a little white dot there. You're going to see it when they are big already. So let's continue
removing all of these flowers. By removing the flower also, you are helping the plant
to focus on their growth and not putting all of their energy with the flowers.
With this one here, this is a simple viable cobweb. The only thing about this, I'm going to
remove the flower but this is just for preventing all the mealybugs going on them. But this plant
is a monocarpic. It means all of these flowers stuck here. This is especially, this is actually
the plant like you see in this. So this is kind of look like this before but you see here she's
growing upwards and trying to grow additional flower buds. So this plant right here and this,
after the flower they will die and you cannot do anything about it. That's their life.
But don't feel bad about it. They will sure give you a lot of new growth with this. Simple
viable is really generous giving new pups on the side especially when after flowering. So
let's just remove all of these flowers too. I will keep that and I will just keep out this one also.
There you go. Next one we got here is this. This is heavy. She's having a lot of sunburn as you can
see on the leaf. It's been really hot here and this just easily break. So after removing all
the flower stuff, this is the perfect time to remove all the dried leaves on the bottom.
See that? So after this, after they are all cleaned up, we are going to spray this one with
organic spray that I made and how to make it. I'm gonna show it to you guys on my next video.
Switch the place. I have one here. I forgot what it is. The chroma that I show you in the
the other video. That one are turned to rot. So that's gone. So now she is having one, two,
three, four. Four flower stalks. So we're going to remove all of this also. I probably just gonna
all twist it. It's more they can get all the way from the bottom. I really love to keep this
if I don't have any mealybugs in the garden. But since I'm having a bad infestation right now,
I am going to just remove all of the flower stalks. This is really beautiful but I feel bad.
But no, I need to get rid of it. And most of these leaves, I'm going to remove it and try to
propagate them. See, it's so beautiful. So I'm gonna give all of these to this one.
See, you can see a mealybugs in the edge already. Oh, see this one. So
this one is one of my favorite flower but it's time to remove it.
Look at that flower stalk. It's huge. They are big. So a lot of these leaves from the flower,
I am going to keep it to use as a propagation. So this is really good for you to propagate,
to multiply your collections fast. This one is kind of hard to remove. Here you go. Look,
oh my god, it's like a tree branch already. It's very matured because look at the flowers.
It's huge and it's beautiful. Look, wow. I didn't even know that they grow as big as this.
Beautiful. So these are some of the flower stalk that we've removed. I will try to remove most of
the leaves that I can save to use for a leaf propagation. After removing all of those flowers,
it's time to clean them up. It's been a while since I cleaned all of them. So there's a lot
of dried leaves. So much dried leaves and look, you can really see all of the mealybugs there.
And this one, I don't want to save it because it's been infested really bad with mealybugs.
So I just decided to throw this one away. It's not worth it to save it. They might
leave any eggs on it and they will start infesting your plants again.
So after the cleanup, they look more nicely already and they have the room to grow more
succulent babies on the side. And they look more nicely and healthy. So here they are,
they're all clean right now and they look even healthier already. So okay guys, that's it for
today's video. Don't forget to comment down below, give me a like and don't forget to subscribe in
our YouTube channel. And I hope to see you guys on my next vlog. Thank you for watching. Bye!
