Late DRAMA at Villa Park 😱 | Aston Villa 1-0 Brighton | Premier League Highlights

Right footed clearance away. It's a great ball from Martínez into the path of Sancho to the Villa right-hand side. Sancho into the penalty box now, makes an angle for a cross, gets blocked and comes back at him. Still has possession, in towards Rodgers now. Rodgers for the byline, fires it in, blocked by the legs of the goalkeeper. Rodgers again, tries his luck but it curls out of play. It's a goal kick. Yeah, another just simple ball over the top. Sancho getting one-on-one and managing to try something. But then he managed to square it to Morgan Rodgers who from a very tight angle. And it's a great, great save from Werder again. Still Rodgers. Three blue and white shirts in front of him, lays it up towards Buendia. Buendia trying to get his shot away and that wasn't far away. I think the goalkeeper's got a touch on it, it's out for a corner to Aston Villa. That's the closest we've come to a goal. Corner of the penalty box, going for the line now. Bogard is with him. Stands it up the far post, Martinsen heads away and as far as Welbeck again, won't sit down for his shot. Back out to Carioglou, goes for goal, oh, he's hit the bar! And Buendia helps it away. Carioglou whipped it in, thought he might have put Brighton one goal to the good. The bar keeps it nil-nil. Brighton coming again, Dan. They're right-hand side, Douglas Luiz battling away with it and it's out of play eventually. Is that a little touch from Martinez as well? We said Brighton started brighter in the second half. Seems like the aggressiveness from the first half has moved to the second half. Here's Esri Konca. To the left it goes, Ross Barkley. Barkley moves up towards halfway. Ball into the feet of Rodgers, turns it out to Alisson now. Alisson, wide on the Villa left-hand side, checks inside the first challenge. Gives it to Martinsen, Martinsen in there to Rodgers, comes through. Tammy Abraham, oh, he couldn't make connection, was he fouled? Bailey's contested in there, he's gone out and behind, it will be a corner. Referee Peter Banks already saying no penalty. I wonder if VAR will be called in. Here's Leon Bailey with the delivery. It's a good delivery, he takes it to the near post and it's gone in! And it's Tyro Mings! Bailey with a whip delivery in. Tyro Mings glances it home in front of the Holten. And away he goes to celebrate. Just less than five minutes to go. And finally, finally, finally, the deadlock's broken. Villa lead, Brighton by one goal to nil. It's Mings. Yeah, we've been talking about the delivery all day from set-pieces. Bailey, a great delivery. You've got enough players who can attack. You've trained, you've got a set-piece cause. And it was a perfect delivery. And Tyro Mings, he's been out of the game for a while. He's back in the team now and it's a great goal at the right time.
