When the Sea Peoples Nearly Broke Egypt
At the end of the New Kingdom, Egypt faced one of the greatest crises in its history. In this episode of Antiquities Explorer, I travel to Medinet Habu, the mortuary complex of Ramesses III, to explore how Egypt responded when foreign invasion, internal strain, and economic pressure threatened to unravel the state itself. From there, we move to Dra Abu el-Naga, where elite tombs reveal how high officials responded to the same crisis in quieter ways.
