Three out of every five homes in the country have a dog as a pet - no wonder people say that “Dog is man’s best friend.” There might be as many as 400-million dogs in the world. The most popular breed is the Labrador Retriever – they’re smart, loyal, and have lots of energy. Dogs can understand as many as 250 words and the average dog is as smart as a two-year-old child. In spite of what people say, dogs are not color-blind, but the colors they see just aren’t as sharp and bright as we see. And, don’t forget – August 26 of every year is National Dog Day.
