Hi guys, welcome to my channel or welcome back to my channel.
Today I'll be teaching you how you can move your arms better when you're dancing.
If you want to learn more, grab a free guide I prepared for you.
I'll put the link in the description box below.
Okay, let's jump into the tutorial.
If you're just dancing the club, doing regular steps, regular moves,
you don't want to be too noticeable.
You just want to blend in on the dance floor.
You want to avoid the arms being the center of attention.
Here I'm not talking about, you know, those trendy dance moves.
I'm not going to show you, but I am going to insert the clip.
Of course, that's an exception because the arms are supposed to be the center of attention
in those moves, right?
So if you're just like showing off in front of your friends, that's fine.
I'm just talking about regular club dancing, like average person club dance steps.
There's two things that contribute to arms being the center of attention,
which we don't want.
One is the size of the movement.
The size of the movement that's too big for the arms compared to everything else that's happening,
let's say with your feet or with your torso.
If those movements are small, there's no reason for the arm moves to be huge.
It just won't go together.
What it means is if you're moving, you're doing a little, let's say two-step,
you don't want to do like big crazy arms that overshadow everything else that you're doing
because that, of course, brings more attention to you.
See, does this go with the movements?
I wouldn't say so.
The footwork and the body movements that I'm doing are pretty small,
so there's no reason for the arms to fly around, right?
You see that second reason why the arms would be in the center of attention
is that you're doing the movement, the action that doesn't go with whatever else is happening.
For example, like a fast roll maybe or something like that.
You see that just everybody will notice your arms
before they notice your entire body behind the arms.
I would say you want the arms to just complement
whatever you're doing with the feet and with the body in general.
So let's say if we're doing, let's take a step forward,
you want the arms to move, right?
You don't want to have them stiff and just not participating at all
because that's also not a good look.
But you want the arms to move with the body.
So let's say they will just bounce a little bit side to side,
they can sway or swing, right?
So it's not overshadowing whatever else I'm doing with the body.
Let me demonstrate with the music.
Okay, so I'm just dancing, I'm in the club,
moving the arms, but nothing specific is going on, right?
And then if I do want to do a specific arm movement, let's say a roll,
it still goes with whatever my feet are doing, right?
And the torso or maybe let's say a two step
and we're going to do a little cross open.
It's still very small movement, not too noticeable.
It matches whatever else is happening with my feet and with my upper body.
Okay, I'll show you a couple more.
If I do a simple two step,
because I do want to blend in with other people on the dance floor,
but then I want to try a move that I saw
in some kind of YouTube video of somebody doing choreography.
It doesn't go together, right?
So if I did just a simple step,
I would have to do something simple with the arms.
All right, you guys, that is it for today.
Thank you so much for watching and learning from me.
I hope I helped a little bit.
