Good evening and thank you for joining us tonight. A major development in the search
for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of today's show co-host Savannah Guthrie. Authorities releasing
new images and video footage of a possible subject in the 84-year-old's disappearance.
Her daughter immediately responding. NTD's Arlene Richards has the latest.
Today, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Office releasing photographs and video footage
from a doorbell camera showing a potential subject in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.
Her daughter, today's show co-host Savannah Guthrie, responding in two Instagram posts
saying, we believe she is still alive. Bring her home. Adding in a second post,
someone out there recognizes this person. We believe she is still out there. She asked the
public to call the FBI or the Pima County Sheriff's Office with any information. Sheriff Chris Nanos
posted some of the images Tuesday depicting an individual wearing a ski mask and gloves
standing at Nancy Guthrie's front door. In close-up images and video footage, the person's
gloved hand is seen tampering with the door camera. The camera was taken off of the door
and has not been found. Nanos says in the post that the images were retrieved from backup data.
He also says the individual is armed. FBI Director Kash Patel posted additional images and video
footage of the individual, who was also seen wearing a backpack. He said the images and video
come from the same camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance.
A four-second video shows the individual approaching Nancy Guthrie's door with his head
down. The FBI has not characterized the individual as a suspect and so far has been saying there are
no suspects. The search for the 84-year-old grandmother is in its 10th day. She disappeared
from her home more than a week ago. The Guthrie siblings have made emotional appeals, even
offering to pay. We are at an hour of desperation and we need your help. A possible ransom deadline
passed last night with no apparent exchange of money. Investigators haven't determined whether
ransom notes sent to two media outlets are real. The images and video footage are the first sign
of a possible break in the case. Arlene Richards, NTD News. President Trump reviewing the newly
released surveillance footage in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case and the president
threatening to block the opening of a bridge connecting the U.S. and Canada as he warns
Ottawa of cozying up to the Chinese regime. We now go live to NTD's Washington correspondent
Mario Tu at the White House. Mari, good evening. Tiff, good evening. That's right and Press
Secretary Leavitt said today that she and President Trump reviewed that new surveillance footage just
minutes before the White House press briefing. And Leavitt also reiterates that the prayers of the
entire White House are with the Guthrie family at this time. She says that they hope that they
find the suspect soon and that Nancy Guthrie can return home safely. Here's the White House with
the president's initial reaction to that new footage. Take a look. His initial reaction,
of course, as all Americans, is just pure disgust. And again, it's heartbreaking to
see now this footage really bring to life a story we've all been reading about.
And again, we're just praying for the safety of Nancy Guthrie and that she will return home soon.
The White House says President Trump is encouraging all Americans with any
information to call the FBI. I think anyone who was involved in this depraved crime,
this abduction, of course, we want to be seen held to the fullest extent of the law possible.
Meanwhile, the White House urging Congress to pass the SAVE Act equating election integrity
with national security. As for the president, he's been very clear he wants House Republicans
and Democrats too, if they were politically wise, to pass this legislation. While a new Pew
research poll shows overwhelming bipartisan support for photo ID to vote with 71 percent of Democrats,
95 percent of Republicans and 83 percent of Americans in agreement, many Democratic
politicians oppose it. In opposition, the White House condemns. Now as for the SAVE Act itself,
it has nothing to do with protecting our elections and everything to do with federalizing
voter suppression. The SAVE Act is nothing more than Jim Crow 2.0. How do you oppose SAVE America?
This is simply on voting. Voter ID. We want a statement that you are a citizen of America.
I think that's a reasonable thing to ask. And no mail-in ballots, which are very corrupt.
No country in the world does what we do. This comes as President Trump threatens to block the
opening of a bridge between the U.S. and Canada unless Ottawa negotiates with Washington on
tariffs and the exclusion of American products. He accuses Canada of taking advantage of the U.S.
with unfair trade practices and cozying up to the Chinese regime. The fact that Canada will
control what crosses the Gordie Howe Bridge and owns the land on both sides is unacceptable to
the president. It's also unacceptable that more of this bridge isn't being built with more American
made materials, even more so than what President Barack Obama committed to with the Canadians at
the time at the start of the project. We don't want China to take over Canada. And if they make
the deal that he's looking to make, China will take over Canada. And the first thing they're
going to do, end ice hockey. Canada gets a lot of freebies from us, by the way. They should be
grateful also, but they're not. Canada lives because of the United States.
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney says he's spoken with President Trump after the president
issued that threat and that the situation will be resolved, although he didn't give
further details. And this is coming just a couple of weeks after President Trump
threatened 100 percent tariffs on Canada if they made a deal with the Chinese regime.
Tiff, back to you.
Mari, thanks for those updates.
Cuba is warning international airlines that jet fuel will no longer be available on the island
starting today. It's the latest sign of worsening conditions as the U.S. is cutting off the
Communist-run nation's oil supply. NTD's international correspondent, Arian Pazdar, has the story.
Cuba is issuing a notice to airlines saying jet fuel is no longer available on the island.
The nation is implementing a fuel rationing plan as the U.S. is cutting off the Communist-run
nation's oil supply. Urgent measures must be taken because people who are going to travel
far away if there is no fuel, I don't know if their flights will be canceled.
Cuba has historically relied on Venezuela to provide most of its jet fuel,
but the nation has not received any oil from its top allies since mid-December
when the U.S. moved to block the South American nation's exports.
Cuba now has no income. They got all of their income from Venezuela,
from the Venezuelan oil. They're not getting any of it.
In late January, President Trump signed an executive order to impose a tariff on countries
that sell or provide oil to Cuba. On Monday, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed
that oil shipments from Mexico to Cuba have been halted. But she says Mexico still seeks
to support the people of Cuba. Two vessels carrying around 800 tons of humanitarian aid
deported Mexico on Sunday to support the island.
We're going to help the people of Cuba, as we've always helped at any time peoples who need it.
And now food was sent mainly, and more is going to be sent.
The fuel shortage is strongly affecting everyday life in Cuba.
Congresswoman Maria Salazar warns do not travel to Cuba. There is no electricity,
no food, and no medicine. Only blackouts, hunger, and repression.
Don't risk your safety. A regime in its final hours is unpredictable and dangerous.
The United Nations is monitoring the growing crisis.
Disruptions to the delivery of clean water, medical care, food, and other critical aid
in parts of Cuba that were hard hit by Hurricane Melissa last October.
The UN is seeking funding for a $70 million plan to help families recover from the aftermath of
the hurricane. So far, the aid package is only 23% funded. Cuba's fuel rationing plan
is set to last until March 11th. Ariane Pastor, NTV News.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departing for the U.S. ahead of his upcoming
meeting with President Trump. The two are expected to discuss growing tensions with
Iran over its nuclear program. NDD's Jason Perry has the update.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was surrounded by security as he prepared
to board his flight to the U.S. He told reporters that it was going to be his seventh meeting with
President Trump during Trump's second term, and said the two were going to discuss Iran.
I will present to the president our ideas about the principles in the negotiations,
the important principles, and in my opinion, they are important not only for Israel,
but for everyone in the world who wants peace and security in the Middle East.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said he thinks
everyone would like to see something get resolved without a war.
On the same day, Iran's top security official Ali Larijani met with the leader of Oman,
where last week's talks between the U.S. and Iran took place.
Larijani said this during an interview with Oman's state-run media.
From the beginning, we believe that war does not resolve matters between the two countries,
and the regional disputes between Iran and the West must be resolved through dialogue.
This comes as both Iran and the U.S. are preparing for a possible war
if Iran cannot reach a nuclear deal with the U.S.
According to satellite imagery analyzed by Reuters,
U.S. forces at Al Udeid military airbase in Qatar put missiles into truck launchers,
giving the U.S. military the ability to move the missiles more quickly if necessary.
And according to the Jerusalem Post, experts reviewed satellite imagery of an Iranian
nuclear facility and said Iran was preparing for the possibility of a U.S. strike
by covering the entrances to the facility with dirt.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu also said he's planning to discuss the Gaza Strip with President Trump as
well. Israeli forces and the Hamas terrorist group have reportedly continued to attack
each other despite the ceasefire. However, according to the spokesman for Indonesia's
president, a proposed multinational peacekeeping force for the Gaza Strip
could total about 20,000 troops, and Indonesia estimates that it could contribute up to 8,000
troops to the Gaza Strip. Jason Perry, NTD News.
Officials from ICE and Customs and Border Protection testify on Capitol Hill amid
tensions surrounding immigration enforcement operations. Republican lawmakers are stressing
the importance of having so-called sanctuary cities communicate with ICE, while Democrats
are calling on Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign.
NTD correspondent Jason Blair has the takeaways.
Enforcing immigration law is not optional. We must take the temperature down and look
at the record of enforcement actions through rational eyes.
Following tensions and social unrest in Minnesota and other parts of the country,
House lawmakers brought in immigration officials to testify on Capitol Hill.
Rep. Ryan McKenzie says that in many areas, jails aren't telling ICE
when illegal immigrants are being released, so ICE can come to the jail
and arrest them for deportation.
In our case, members of Trende Aragwa domestic abusers have been released onto the street,
and ICE had to stake out that location, making the arrests in an unsecure way out in the local
community. Some Democrats called on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign.
Donald Trump and Kristi Noem are doing real damage to this country
and to the department that was stood up 25 years ago in the wake of 9-11.
Some Republicans highlighted the importance of what ICE has been doing.
What are the consequences of not enforcing federal immigration laws?
Sir, if you look at what ICE has done, if you look at the amount of,
as I said earlier, the amount of known and suspected terrorists that we removed from
the country, just that impact alone, along with the 7,800 gang members, makes a significant
impact on public safety and national security.
Go to the Department of Homeland Security website and Google your area and look at who's
being picked up in your backyard. That's how we recenter this conversation to truth.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons was asked to step down.
Mr. Lyons, will you resign from ICE?
No, sir, I won't.
Why not?
Because, sir, that child that you're showing right there, the men and women of ICE took
care of him when his father abandoned him and ran from law enforcement.
Lyons says that law enforcement in Minneapolis was told to not cooperate with ICE.
Which led to ICE officers and agents, as well as our other federal partners,
pretty much having to defend themselves from whatever impediment, riots or protests.
Were they told by local elected officials not to cooperate?
Yes, sir.
Lyons also highlighted some stats of ICE's work
during the first year of the Trump administration.
ICE has conducted nearly 379,000 arrests. Among those arrests were more than 7,000
suspected gang members and over 1,400 known as suspected terrorists.

Coming up, restoring faith in America's electoral system.
A House hearing today delves into ways to reform federal elections,
from limiting mail-in ballots to mandating proof of citizenship.
Sam Wong has details on the latest legislation.
In Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T testified before the Senate today.
They shared what they did when then-Special Counsel Jack Smith
subpoenaed the personal phone records of Republican senators.
David Lam with the key takeaways.
Welcome back. I'm Tiffany Meyer.
The supporting affidavit for the warrant to search Fulton County election records
has now been unsealed.
The 22-page affidavit cites several alleged irregularities
in Fulton County's handling of the 2020 election.
It comes after a federal judge in Georgia ordered the move following an FBI raid
that took place late last month to seize the ballots from the 2020 election.
The raid was done under a judicial warrant.
The newly unsealed affidavit concludes that there were deficiencies in the election records,
such as missing ballot images and duplicated ballots.
It also warns of targets destroying or tampering with evidence,
which potentially indicates why the election records were seized.
Restoring trust in federal elections.
On Capitol Hill today, House lawmakers exploring ways to reform the electoral system
with Republicans proposing legislation dubbed the Make Elections Great Again Act.
Entity Sam Wong has the details.
History explains why election integrity safeguards exist.
They're not adopted by accident and they're not racist.
The Committee on House Administration holding a hearing today focusing on
restoring integrity in federal elections.
At the center of the hearing, Republicans are pushing for a reform bill called
the Make Elections Great Again Act.
It's a measure they say would improve voter confidence and make voting more secure.
Elections should end on election day.
You need a photo ID to cast a ballot.
You need to be a citizen to vote.
You need an audible paper trail and you shouldn't mail a ballot to people that don't request them.
The SAVE Act is very important.
Voter ID.
I mean, if you look at it, no mail-in voting and you have to have proof of citizenship.
The push comes as the House is set to vote on the SAVE America Act this week,
a bill backed by President Trump that requires proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.
Democrats argue the measure would impose hurdles on millions of voters across the country.
That's despite surveys that indicate most Americans support mandating photo ID at the ballot box.
This is about control.
It is about silencing people who do not agree with Republican policies
and about blocking women from the ballot.
The American public is resoundingly in support of this.
83% support only U.S. citizens voting and using an ID for elections.
Suggesting this will harm certain demographics is both disingenuous and insulting.
As of now, 13 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
do not require any documentation to cast a ballot in person.
And with mail-in voting becoming more common,
some say that the current electoral system opens the door to more fraud and abuse.
Not long ago, the Supreme Court found that 24 million registrations,
about one in eight in the United States, are invalid or inaccurate.
And 2.75 million people were registered in multiple states.
The Make Elections Great Again Act was introduced by House Administration
Committee Chairman Brian Stile.
In line with President Trump's policies, Stile says the goal is to create uniform
national standards that makes it difficult to cheat in elections.

Major telecom companies testified before the Senate today on why they did or did not
comply with subpoenas of lawmakers' phone records.
They explained how their companies handled probes into President Trump
and his supporters in Congress.
NTD's David Lam reports.
Executives from cell phone companies answered questions from Senate lawmakers
on the implications of the Arctic Frost investigation of President Trump and his supporters.
We are ultimately here this morning because Jack Smith violated his oath of office.
He trampled on Americans' rights that are enshrined in the Constitution, all for one reason,
to go after President Donald Trump and conservatives across this great nation.
A Senate investigation found that special counsel Jack Smith's office had issued
197 subpoenas to over 430 conservative organizations
and individuals as part of the Arctic Frost probe.
The Biden administration's Justice Department launched the probe in 2022
in connection with Trump's challenge to the 2020 election.
AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile were asked, under oath,
to explain why they did or did not comply with Jack Smith's secret subpoenas.
We were compelled to provide this information under the law, and we complied.
No matter who is the subject of a subpoena,
Verizon cannot ignore a valid legal demand or a court order.
But our processes could have been better suited
to meet what was a new and unique set of circumstances.
And FBI documents released by Senator Chuck Grassley's office on October 6th
included phone records from eight U.S. senators and one congressman.
The information included data on where, when, and to whom the calls were made,
but didn't include the content of the calls.
Smith served as the DOJ's special counsel for three years starting in 2022.
AT&T said its own lawyer questioned Smith's probe.
She identified the potential constitutional issue, saying, quote,
The users of the telephone numbers potentially implicate
the protections of the speech or debate clause.
Then she asked a critical question,
asking for special counsel's view of the potential constitutional implications, quote,
so that AT&T may document the special counsel's views
and incorporate them as part of our analysis.
Special counsel's office never responded to that email, at least not substantively.
Attorney General Pam Bondi called the operation an
unconstitutional undemocratic abuse of power.
I'm interested in why you didn't do any of the basic investigation.
Ask a question.
You get a subpoena for all of these numbers.
And your testimony is you just handed over the documents.
You didn't do anything.
Is that what happened?
Three reasons, Senator.
So first, when we receive a subpoena,
we do not know the nature of the investigation or the sensitivities involved.
Second, as I mentioned, we train our subpoena analysts to respect the confidentiality.
The Senate plans to hold more hearings on the Arctic Frost investigation.
David Lam, NTD News.
Coming up, a federal judge has sentenced a Southern California man to four years in prison
in a case tied to the Chinese regime.
Prosecutors say he also worked on a local city council campaign.
Christina Corona reports.
Chinese Communist Party money flowing into American non-profits.
Lawmakers say it's fueling protests, pushing radical policies and undermining U.S. elections.
Jack Bradley breaks down the investigation on Capitol Hill.
Welcome back.
I'm Tiffany Meyer.
A Southern California man is headed to federal prison
after prosecutors say he secretly worked as an agent of the Chinese regime.
They also say he helped a local city council candidate win office.
NTD's Christina Corona reports.
A 65-year-old man from Chino Hills, California has been sentenced to federal prison
for secretly working as an agent of the Chinese regime
while also helping a local politician win office.
Federal prosecutors say Yaning Mike Sun acted under the direction of officials
from Communist China from 2022 through early 2024
without registering as a foreign agent as required by law.
Court documents say Sun also advised a city council campaign.
The L.A. Times reports that the candidate was Arcadia council member Eileen Wong
who won in 2022 and is still in office.
Prosecutors also say Sun helped run a news website
aimed at the local Chinese American community
posting pro-Beijing content at the direction of Chinese officials.
Prosecutors say his work included targeting Falun Gong,
a spiritual practice banned in China which has many adherents here in Southern California.
Investigators say Sun also closely tracked the April 2023 visit
of Taiwan's then-president Tsai Ing-wen to Southern California
and sent real-time updates on her movements
directly to representatives of the Chinese regime.
After Sun's arrest, the city of Arcadia said he had no official connection to the city
and that council member Wong was not charged.
Sun's defense argued he didn't know he was required to register as a foreign agent
and asked for a lighter sentence.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Asaili said in a statement,
federal law enforcement will not allow hostile foreign nations
to infiltrate the governance of our nation's political bodies.
Sun has been sentenced to four years in federal prison.
Christina Corona, NTD News.
On Capitol Hill today,
House lawmakers are sounding the alarm over foreign money
flowing into American non-profits.
They say groups tied to the Chinese Communist Party
are using U.S. tax breaks to fund protests,
push radical policies and influence elections.
NTD's Washington correspondent Jack Bradley has the details.
Foreign actors fueling disruption and illegal activity in America
using a dark web of tax-exempt groups.
The Chinese Communist Party funding American non-profits
at the center of a contentious hearing on Capitol Hill.
The House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees tax policy,
focused on how money tied to the CCP flows into U.S. tax-exempt groups.
Money they say fuels protests,
pushes radical policies and still gets taxpayer subsidies.
The People's Forum, an American tax-exempt group,
hosts events and courses pushing Communist Party propaganda.
Incites violent protests and riots.
Operate YouTube channels to reach youth.
Others operate fake news websites.
Still more lobby Congress.
Federal property vandalized at Union Station.
American flags burned and police officers assaulted.
Airports blocked at JFK and LAX.
This is not grassroots protest.
It is a repeatable system for paralyzing American infrastructure on demand,
financed through U.S. tax law and aligned with a hostile foreign power.
One example is billionaire Neville Royce Singham,
a former U.S. tech executive now based in Shanghai.
The panel says Singham funnels millions to shell companies that then fund non-profits,
which in turn train protesters and even spread pro-CCP propaganda.
Neville Royce Singham donated over $20 million to the People's Forum through shell companies.
Witnesses say that the problem is the tax code itself.
They argue loopholes allow unlimited foreign cash into non-profits without disclosure.
There is no real requirement that discloses anywhere that they are receiving foreign funds.
This is a huge threat to foreign interference in our elections.
Many also tying the funding directly to swaying U.S. policy.
Most recently, non-profit groups have joined a push to defund ICE
and attack law enforcement after receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars
in donations linked to the Chinese Communist Party.
The witnesses are pushing Congress to close loopholes in federal law
that allows unlimited foreign cash flows into non-profits.
Some states already are moving in that direction with Alabama and Michigan
just passing laws last week to block foreign money in ballot measures.
And a bill is now moving its way through Congress that would do that on the federal level.
Reporting by Jack Bradley, NTD News.
And joining us now to unpack all of this is an excellent panel.
We have independent journalist Nate Friedman.
He's also the host of the Nate Friedman Show.
We're also joined by Adam Savitt.
He's the director of the China Policy Initiative at the America First Policy Institute.
Thank you both so much for joining us.
Nate, starting with you, you've been covering the links between
CCP-aligned left-wing groups causing chaos across the U.S.
Did this hearing hit on the most important aspects of this issue?
Yes, absolutely.
And look, I've gone to these protests and I've proved it.
I've walked up to Manolo DeSantos before a protest has started.
And I said, are you being paid over $20 million to protest?
No denial.
As David Chung, the same person I've investigated before who works at the People's Forum,
who also works with Rise and Resist, who's funded by George Soros.
And when you look at Rise and Resist, you see that, yes, it's funded by Soros,
but David Chung is funded by Roy Neville Singham at the People's Forum.
So you'll often see that these NGOs, they spread their employees across
multiple of them and only get paid by one of them just to hide where the money is.
And Adam, what is the Chinese regime trying to accomplish by influencing groups like these?
What they're trying to accomplish is victory by political warfare,
or you could call it hybrid warfare.
You know, of course, they're building up their military, their navy, their air force,
their nuclear arsenal.
But they get more bang for the buck to fund these violent groups on our streets who already
want to take this radical action.
Why not fund these groups and undermine society from within?
That's their goal.
And Nate, one name that keeps popping up here is Neville Roy Singham.
He's an American, but currently resides in China.
You and I have spoken about him before,
but unpack for us why there is so much focus on him and what groups is he accused of propping up?
Yeah, there's so much focus on him because if you just look at New York,
if you were to get rid of the People's Forum, if the People's Forum didn't exist,
you wouldn't see over 90% of the protests that you see in New York.
And I don't know if the camera can see this, but you can see in the same day,
say January 20th, stop ICE terror.
And then you can see on the same day, it's a free Palestine.
So they're double dipping on these social causes.
You can see that's how it's going on.
Singham is behind all of this.
And Adam, how hopeful are you that hearings like this will lead to real change?
And what would that look like?
Let me say, recognize this here is incredibly important.
It had incredibly good results.
We need to shine a light on all of the aspects of the civilizational efforts of China.
Unfortunately, though, I have to say I'm not hopeful that this hearing will lead to
results because basically when you close one avenue of the Chinese Communist Party,
they'll find another avenue, whether it be overseas police stations or through their
student groups, many other avenues.
So while this is incredibly important, I praise the committee.
I don't see immediate change coming from this.
I want to get to that.
But first, Nate, your thoughts on this.
What would real change look like here?
Roy Neville Singham testifying in front of Congress.
And we get to the bottom of what's really going on behind this $20 million that he tried
so hard to hide, you know, putting it through a donor advised fund.
If you're proud of the money you're sending someone, you don't hide it like this.
So, yeah.
And Adam, one of the hearing witnesses said that some Singham-funded organizations that
promote CCP-aligned narratives failed to register as foreign lobbyists under FARA.
How does FARA fit into all of this?
It's incredibly important.
It should come into play more.
FARA, the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938, it was first instituted to combat
Nazi propaganda, German-American groups that were funded by the German government that
needed to declare themselves as foreign agents.
It's been used very sparingly since then, unfortunately, over the past decades.
Interestingly, it was revived in order to go after Paul Manafort, a Trump ally back
in the first term.
But it's been used very selectively and very sparingly.
It needs to be revived to go after these organizations, which are obviously acting
on behalf of the CCP.
And Nate, when you're on the ground speaking to these protesters, is there a sense that
they're aware of the foreign influence funds coming in?
What is the sense on the ground of why they're protesting?
Well, many are not.
Many are passionate about the issues.
But again, that the protests wouldn't be organized if it wasn't for Singham.
And I have to say that the rhetoric, having stopped ICE terror, calling ICE terrorists,
it's very clearly inciting violence.
So yes, it's not just CCP, but it's Singham that's inciting violence and destroying the
West from within by calling ICE terrorists.
And Adam, it's not just protests and organizations on the streets.
How much lobbying do Chinese businesses do on Capitol Hill?
A huge amount, not only on Capitol Hill, but also to the agencies.
I'm proud that my organization, AFPI, did a deep dive on one aspect of that, the agricultural
conglomerates, multi-billion dollar companies.
They used to be Western owned.
They're now CCP state owned.
Syngenta and Smithfield, for example, respectively, spent $8 and $11 million in lobbying over
the past decade.
That includes the Department of Commerce, the Department of Agriculture, the U.S.
Trade Representative, when we were engaged in the most consequential trade negotiations
with China that directly benefited China, the phase one trade deal in the first Trump
administration.
There's also defense companies that are listed as PLA defense companies on the 1260H list,
which the U.S.
government designates, but they're still able to lobby.
One of them is DJI Drones, the viewers might be familiar with, which is a designated PLA
defense company.
It has been able to lobby against the Drones Act in the Congress to the tune of a million
dollars.
Absolutely.
Well, well, Adam Savitt, Nath Friedman, thank you both so much for joining us.
Thanks very much.

Coming up in the Olympics, after a slow start, Team USA collects a number of medals today
while setting themselves up for more down the road.
Dave Martin joins us to discuss.
And now for your sports news, we're joined by NTD's Dave Martin.
Dave, the Olympics are continuing, so let's get right to it.
Ten medals up for grabs today in the Olympics.
How did Team USA fare?
They fared well, Tiff.
Let me tell you here.
Let's run down some of the medals won by Team USA today.
There were five in all.
First, defending gold medal champion Alex Hall took silver in the men's free ski slope
style run, so congratulations to him.
Then in the men's cross-country skiing, American Ben Ogden won silver.
That's the first Olympic medal by an American man in this competition since 1976.
Really amazing performance there.
In women's alpine skiing, the Americans did well there, too, taking home bronze.
In curling, this is the mixed doubles competition.
U.S. lost 6-5 to Sweden in the gold medal game today, though that still means they take
home the silver.
And finally, in women's luge, American Ashley Farquharson came away with bronze.
She's just the second American woman to win an Olympic medal in this sport, so an amazing
job by her.
So let's take a look at the leaderboard right now.
Now, Sweden, the runaway winner, leader in gold medals, was sixth.
Nobody else has even more than three.
You've got Germany, Sweden there.
They are also the leader in total medals here with 12.
Italy, second in total medals with 11.
Now, the U.S. right now, according to the leaderboard, they are in fifth place.
You've got two golds.
You've got three silvers and two bronze medals, so that's seven in all for Team USA.
Now, FYI, we are through 27 of the medaling events out of 116, so we're just a quarter
of the way through the game.
So a whole lot more medals to be awarded, although I will tell you, Norway technically,
historically, does very well in the Olympics, you know, in cold-weather country over there.
So we're at a bit of a disadvantage.
This isn't like the summer games.
We're close here, though, so.
I was going to say, looking at that leaderboard, it looks pretty snowy.
It's not looking great for the U.S. as far as catching Norway, but for being, you know,
not really a cold-weather country, we do pretty well, too.
All right, well, elsewhere at the winter games, Team USA's women's hockey team had a pretty
big win today.
Yeah, the Americans beat the Canadians five to nothing.
Now, that is their largest margin of victory over their rivals from the north in the Olympic
games, in the Olympic play, anyway.
Now, this was a preliminary round game.
The quarterfinals don't start until this weekend.
I'm sure Canada and USA will be in it.
But if history is any indication, this is a preview of the gold medal game.
Women's hockey was not an Olympic sport until 1998.
It's been dominated by these two countries.
Six of the seven gold medal games have come down to U.S. versus Canada.
Canada has won four out of those six times.
Now, right now, Team USA absolutely cruising through the competition.
Through four games, they have outscored their opponents by a score of 20 to 1.
They've won all four games, of course.
So things are looking good for Team USA.
Although, I don't want to give my hopes up too much.
They've been crushed before by Canada in the gold medal game before 2014.
Tiff, are you ready for this one?
Gold medal game.
U.S. women were leading 2-0 with less than five minutes left.
Canada somehow got a goal in.
They ended up tying it with 55 seconds left.
And they then won it in overtime.
The maddening thing is the tying goal was with 55 seconds left.
But a minute before that, the U.S. missed an open net opportunity.
The puck went off of the post.
No goalie there.
Open net.
Had it gone in, they would have won.
That was a deflating win.
Imagine you have 2-0, five minutes to go, end up losing in overtime.
That was a crushing defeat.
So hopefully we don't have a repeat of that this year.
Team USA women's hockey looking very good.
Can't wait for the men's hockey to start either.
You know, get a lot of rough play probably in those games.
I was going to ask, are they, you know, lined up to play?
Or is it a lot of fights, you know, first?
Well, there certainly will be.
I would imagine there'll be plenty of fights in the men's game.
Especially if the competition that we had last year
in the Four Nations face-off was an indication.
Those two U.S. versus Canada games were very intense.
There was some fighting in those games.
Certainly some rough play.
But it was very fierce competition.
Canada ended up beating us in the end anyway.
We beat them the first game, but then for the one that counted, they beat us.
So either way, though, I just like those, you know, really intense competitions.
And U.S. versus Canada in hockey is always intense,
even if they usually come out on top.
Makes for good TV.
I'm looking forward to watching that on TV.
Paul Davis, O.S., thanks for joining us.
Thank you, too.
And that's all for today's news.
Thanks for tuning in.
I'm Tiffany Meyer.
Good night.
