Pregnancy Ultrasound Features - Foetal Heart Beat - Dr Gill

A standard part of care during a pregnancy is ensuring that the baby is developing normally. It is usual for many women to attend the pregnancy assessment unit for symptoms such as bleeding, and or pain in pregnancy.

A those consultations, it is common that an ultrasound scan is performed to assess the fetus in utero. Whilst not an anomaly scan in the formal sense, it allows the clinician an overview of the fetus, checking for a heartbeat, and identifying visible features.
