A newly elected board of directors at the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association discovered that the organization's bank account had been drained to zero, leading to criminal charges against its former treasurer.

Police say 40-year-old Michal Fantuzzo of Westmoreland County spent more than $246,000 of the nonprofit's money on personal expenses between 2021 and 2024.

The association, based in Bryn Mawr, promotes professional development and access to therapists who assist clients with physical changes, rehabilitation needs, and developmental delays.
