Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson sitting down together for this episode of “Inquiring Minds” feels like a fever dream we’re glad is real. The ‘Die My Love’ co-stars swap stories about the controversial things they’ve said in interviews (knowingly or not), Rob’s most “dad-coded” habits, and Jennifer’s latest fixations. From Rob calling Jennifer’s love of reality TV a “shtick” to Jennifer realizing he hasn’t seen much of her work, the pair take on the debates everyone’s secretly invested in: ‘Hunger Games’ vs. ‘Harry Potter’ and Team Edward vs. Team Jacob.

I've been resisting the camel toe trend,
but it is, it is hot.
It is inevitable, and so I will be wearing it shortly.
Wearing a camel toe.
On my feet.
What?
Hi, I'm Robert Pattinson.
Hi, I'm Jennifer Lawrence.
This is Inquiring Minds with a Squire.
Now ask me a question.
What's the most embarrassing thing
you've said in an interview?
I mean, every interview I've ever done is embarrassing.
What, are you trying to think of the most embarrassing thing
I've ever said, or you?
You.
No, I can't remember anything that was that embarrassing.
Well, I remember when I was doing press for Mother,
hurricane season was really ratcheting up,
which has to do with climate change, obviously.
And I said something about how we need
to acknowledge climate change or something.
And Fox News just did a headline that was like,
Jennifer Lawrence blames the hurricanes on Donald Trump.
It ended up getting picked up so much
that I was like, did I say that?
And then when I watched the interview
and I didn't say that, but it was very convincing.
So you're saying you haven't done something embarrassing?
I've never done or said anything embarrassing.
Out of all the words.
I don't know about you, but I haven't.
What's the strangest thing you've signed for a fan?
I signed quite a few,
which people got them tattooed afterwards,
I guess that's kind of weird.
Yeah, that is weird.
I think there's much more security vetting,
like premieres and stuff.
Because you used to have a lot of crazier things happen.
And like now it's like a little more tame.
Yeah.
Maybe our fans have just like moved on.
Older.
What's the most challenging part
of playing Grace in a dime a minute?
Working with you.
I guess I didn't like anything
that kept me away from crafty.
Just doing anything.
You're never very far away from it.
What's your most dad-coded thing about you?
I think I know this.
I think the way that you plan vacations is very dad.
It's very like airport dad.
What, being super paranoid about people seeing my abs?
No, not about people seeing your abs.
It's just being like the way
that you try to like plan a vacation
is very like dad energy.
I do wear a lot of cargo shorts
and like Patagonia things.
I know, I've started being aware of like my arches
and shoes.
Yeah, yeah.
Which reality competition show do you think you'd win?
I can't do any of the stuff
where like I eat crazy things.
I have no, I just can't do that.
I think I could do like a Bear Grylls situation.
So this, this is my own question.
This thing where they know all the reality shows
and stuff, is this just like a shtick
to peer relatable?
Oh my God.
No.
This is another piece of the shtick
that everyone's talking about.
But you don't really watch TV.
Like falling over the cone.
Oh my God.
Why are you attacking me today?
No, I really do watch reality TV,
but you once said that you don't have
the attention span to watch TV.
You just don't watch TV or movies, period, at all.
Yeah, I like to look out the window.
When was the last time you fumbled a first impression?
Probably with me.
Oh my God, like every day.
I can't imagine you having a good first impression.
No, I have to really think.
You grow on people.
You're a grower.
It's like my personality is like,
it's like trying to like,
what do you call it when you have to buckle a horse
or whatever, and you try and like.
Oh, break it?
Break in.
I have to break in my own personality
every time I meet someone.
It's like lassoing it.
What's the best piece of advice
you've gotten from another actor?
He didn't give me this advice,
but Christian Bailey, I used to notice
that he would start kind of focusing
and kind of getting into the energy
when the rest of the crew would start getting ready.
Like when they would be like,
lights, we're rolling, quiet on the set.
Like he would kind of start.
And I was like, that seems like a good idea.
So then I started doing that.
Sometimes I don't, but that is my attempt
and aspiration is to do that.
When they say rolling,
there's about two seconds before action.
You can do a lot with those two seconds.
You start concentrating two seconds before action.
I doubt.
I attempt to start focusing before.
Have you ever pretended to have seen a fellow actor's work?
I mean, we all have done that.
Yes.
Yeah.
Many, many times.
Yeah.
I think I've pretended to see most of the things you've done.
I thought you'd won five Oscars the other day.
Just the one.
What line do fans quote the most to you?
Thank God for me.
From American Hustle.
Oh, no.
If we burn, you burn with us.
I agree, game.
I really haven't seen any of my work.
Okay.
What's a belief or mindset that you've outgrown?
I was going to say talking too much, but.
I don't think you can say that.
You're not very talkative.
Do you know what?
Saying controversial things for the sake of it.
Oh.
Just to kind of, I have outgrown that.
Wow.
You're aware of when you're saying something controversial?
I'm the opposite.
I am not aware that what I'm saying is controversial.
And then it'll become very controversial.
And I'm like, well, why did you say that?
Yeah, well, I think things are like fun.
I can feel like it seems a little like exciting.
And I used to kind of, ooh, press the button.
Yeah.
What's something you're fixated on?
Something I'm currently fixated on?
Bailing Out Loud, Real Housewives of OC,
Real Housewives of Salt Lake.
Now I'm paranoid that you think
that this is like a shtick.
What am I fixating?
It's fine if it is.
It's...
It's not even like flattering to be like,
oh, who wants to watch TV?
Actually, one of my favorite moments in this movie,
I don't know, like, was when...
What?
It's kind of out of the movie,
so I don't think I can really say it.
But when you're like in your tent
and you're like covered in soot
and they're putting loads of,
they're like combing your hair
and putting leaves in it.
Yeah.
And you're just watching Real Housewives of Salt Lake.
And I was like, you don't know
what you look like right now.
What trend do you refuse to get behind?
God, I don't know.
I was really upset about the Hawaiian shirt trend.
That one really pissed me right off.
When was there a Hawaiian shirt trend?
Like seven years ago, seven and a half years ago.
What?
I've been resisting the camel toe trend,
but it is, it is hot.
It's inevitable.
It is inevitable.
And so I will be wearing it shortly,
but I'm not happy about it.
You're wearing a camel toe.
On my feet.
What?
Like there, it's, it's for the,
like here.
Oh my, there's a camel toe?
Yeah.
What's one role you were surprised you landed?
Probably all of them, I imagine.
I mean, this one I was definitely quite surprised.
I mean, we, we asked you to be in it and you said yes.
Yeah, but it's like, I mean, I guess land.
It's still the same thing to me.
I mean, I feel like it's kind of, but like,
I feel like older.
Like I do feel like older.
I'm literally just like, I don't understand.
I don't either.
I'm like, I like, like old, I'm old.
No, you're not.
You're a man.
You're just getting started.
I am old.
Yeah, that's just like, it's been a run of luck.
No, I think you're very talented.
And now it's time for the rapid round.
Shake Shack or In-N-Out?
In-N-Out.
Say goodbye or Irish exit?
Irish exit.
Hunger games or Harry Potter?
Well, hunger games.
Okay.
The last thing you Googled?
Paris Hilton kissing a woman's stomach
that was not actually pregnant.
That's the actual thing you Googled?
Yes.
One thing you always forget to pack?
I'm very good at packing.
I never forget anything.
See, that's that dad vacation stuff.
Team Edward or Team Jacob?
In the books, Jacob.
In the movie, Edward.
Okay, great.
Thanks so much for watching.
Be sure to check out Time Out.
Wow.
I'm Robert Pattinson.
I'm, I'm, yeah.
Really gonna do it again.
You're gonna do it again every time.
I'm Jennifer Lawrence.
I'm Robert Pattinson.
It's much better.
Oh, okay.
I liked it the other way.
I'm Jennifer Lawrence.
I'm Robert Pattinson.
Thank you guys so much.
