Change is What Life is — Buddhist Wisdom
Why does everything change? The Buddha discovered — through direct observation of his own body and mind, not abstract theory — that everything we experience is conditioned, and the conditions themselves are also conditioned. There is no fixed foundation anywhere. That is why change is not something that happens to life — change is what life is. But we suffer because we freeze things into images and expect them to stay: a love, a career, a sense of who we are. The Buddha called this craving for permanence taṇhā — and he showed that impermanence is not the enemy. It is the very reason healing is possible, no winter lasts forever, and every moment becomes precious when you truly see it for what it is.
