William And Catherine Make Surprise Announcement Amid Ongoing Changes Inside Kensington Palace

Prince William and Princess Catherine have issued a fresh announcement that has quickly caught Royal Watchers' attention as changes continue behind the scenes at Kensington Palace. The Prince and Princess of Wales are strengthening their communications team, bringing in new expertise as they refine how their work and priorities are presented to the public. At the centre of the update is the appointment of Rosie Traynor, who joined the Wales household this month as Senior Communications Officer. Her arrival marks a notable addition to the couple's inner circle and reflects a clear investment in strategic messaging as their public roles continue to expand. Ms Traynor joins Kensington Palace from Freud's, where she previously worked as a Senior Account Manager. Widely respected within the communications industry, she brings with her a strong academic background. Holding a Master's Degree in Politics and Communications from the London School of alongside a BA in International Relations from Durham University. Her appointment is widely seen as part of a broader restructuring effort underway within the Wales household. In recent weeks, several new faces have joined the team, suggesting a careful recalibration rather than a sudden overhaul, one designed to support the growing scale and visibility of William and Catherine's work. Another key change comes at the heart of their charitable operations. Sarah Henwood has officially stepped into her role as Chief Executive of the Royal Foundation, replacing Amanda Barry, who led the organisation from June 2022 after more than two decades as BAFTA's Chief Executive. Taking to LinkedIn, Sarah Henwood described approaching the role with awe, excitement and a fresh energy, words that hint at both respect for the Foundation's legacy and ambition for its future direction. She also revealed a personal rebrand, choosing to use the name Sarah Henwood rather than Sarah Rose as she begins this new chapter. When her appointment was first announced in September, William and Catherine made their confidence clear, saying they were looking forward to welcoming Sarah to the Royal Foundation and to working with her on some of the issues which are closest to our hearts. They also expressed deep gratitude to Amanda Barry, praising her exceptional leadership and confirming she would continue to work with them as Global Partnerships Ambassador. Last month brought yet another addition to the Wales operation with the arrival of Liza Ravenscroft in Prince William's household. Recruited from global communications firm Edelman, she was initially described by some outlets as a crisis management expert. However, Palace sources stress that her actual role is far more routine, focused on managing day-to-day media relations rather than responding to emergencies. Together, these appointments underline the importance of the Royal Foundation, which sits at the core of William and Catherine's charitable and social impact work. The Foundation acts as their primary philanthropic vehicle, uniting causes that range from mental health and homelessness to early childhood development and environmental stewardship. Beyond senior staff, the couple continue to recognize loyalty and long-standing service within their household. Their full-time nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, was recently awarded the Royal Victorian Medal, Silver, a rare and personal honor granted by the monarch in recognition of dedicated service. Amid these organizational updates, William and Catherine have also maintained their formal public engagements. The couple recently visited Lambeth Palace for their first official meeting with Dame Sarah Mullally since she took up her role as Archbishop of Canterbury. Welcomed on the palace steps, the prince and princess later met privately with the archbishop, with cameras capturing William offering his congratulations. Sources say the meeting highlighted how central faith remains in the couple's lives and their desire to build a strong working relationship with the Church of England's most senior figure ahead of major national and ceremonial moments. Taken together, the latest announcement paints a picture of quiet confidence rather than crisis. As Kensington Palace continues to evolve, William and Catherine appear focused on building a team and a structure capable of supporting their long-term vision for royal duty, public service, and lasting impact.
