Hello, hello. I'm checking in from LAX.
I am on my way to Hong Kong.
I'm doing a little bit of solo trip before I need to fly to Bali to go to my friend's wedding.
I'm one of her bridesmaids and Paul is also meeting me there.
But for now, starting my little solo adventure.
That was the hardest flight of my life.
I will do a little story time later.
But wow, that was a really really freaking long travel day.
I'm so tired.
Made it in my hotel.
I met the Seychelles collective team, Sarah and Michelle.
They picked me up from the airport.
They're so nice.
I made it to Hong Kong at 2.22 a.m.
I was supposed to arrive initially at 4.45 p.m.
and have dinner with Sarah and Michelle and do all of that.
But instead, I arrived at 2.
And right now in LA, it's around 10 a.m. I think.
So I'm actually not tired even though I haven't slept in over 24 hours.
It has been an extremely long day.
So I'm gonna wash up and go to bed.
Good night.
For the day, we have a full day itinerary today.
Plane, I like spawned a new pimple that was not there 24 hours ago.
This is literally the mirror that I'm using to get ready right now.
Let's do a little quick story time recap of my travel day
because that was actually the worst travel day that I've ever had in my entire life.
Started the day waking up at 5.30 a.m.
so that I can pack last minute, get ready, and leave the house by 6.30.
Got to LAX by 7.30, 8-ish.
Checked in my bags, all was well.
So my boarding was around 10.05.
So I was just loading around the airport.
We got boarded no problem, got on the flight.
So I thought everything was pretty smooth sailing from there.
No.
We're supposed to depart but there was a delay
because they said that the cooling system for the food, like the chilling system was down.
About an hour passes, we're still stuck in the plane
waiting for the chilling system to boot up so that we can leave.
And they say, okay, we're good.
So we leave.
We are on the plane for about two hours.
We already flew basically to San Francisco.
And then the pilot announces that we actually have to turn back around, back to LAX.
And in order to do that, they actually need to drop fuel
because the plane is too heavy to land so it's too dangerous.
So we were around San Francisco circling around in the air dumping fuel for, I swear, an hour.
And then we had to fly back to LAX and that took another like hour and a half, I don't know.
So we are on the plane flying from 11.30 a.m.
And I think we arrived at like 4 p.m., 4.30 p.m.
I don't remember, like back to LAX.
So so much time has passed and we are back to no progress.
Everyone was waiting around the gate area.
They kept delaying 15 more minutes, 15 more minutes, 15 more minutes
until we finally boarded at 7.15 p.m.
Got to Hong Kong extremely late at like 12.30 a.m.
The Sechelle Collective team, Sarah and Michelle, they waited for me and they picked me up.
Just so kind of them.
I felt so bad because it was so late that they picked me up, dropped me off at the hotel
and I think I slept at 3.30 a.m.
And then my body just woke up at 7.
So I am running on minimal sleep after pulling an all-nighter
because I actually didn't sleep at all on the plane.
I was supposed to do my makeup and talk to you guys but I literally couldn't do my makeup.
I got distracted and I just kept talking.
But anyways, I'm so excited to finally make it to Hong Kong.
I've always wanted to visit and the Sechelle Collective team,
which I did my jewelry collaboration with,
we've known each other for a very long time.
I think since 2020 or 2021 but we've never met in person.
We've had a ton of different Zoom calls with each other.
I'm very excited to spend some time with them.
They were so sweet.
They planned out my entire itinerary basically
and even though this is a solo trip to Hong Kong,
I'm going to be seeing them basically every day.
So it's really a solo trip.
Very excited to be exploring Hong Kong.
And actually Hong Kong is one of my biggest audience demographics
in terms of like my viewers, you guys.
I know a lot of you guys are from here too.
So hopefully I can run into you guys.
We are currently in Happy Valley.
Grab some coffee and then we're in line to get some food.
Hong Kong style breakfast for the first time.
I know the weather is quite nice.
I feel like I'm not shy about vlogging when I'm with someone.
As soon as I'm alone, I get really like uncomfortable.
I feel like if I was really doing a solo trip,
like I would be so overwhelmed.
You know what I mean?
Like how do you reach it?
You don't.
Like I feel like it's not very far.
My first egg tart of my trip.
Delicious.
That's why everyone keeps talking about egg tarts.
What is it?
It's called like an iced lemon tea.
It's a signature Hong Kong drink.
So you have to poke the lemon first.
Oh, it's good.
Okay.
This is tomato based noodles with scrambled egg.
Thing that everyone talks about.
I mean, if you're going to Japan,
it's pretty good.
Yeah.
I just visited the Sechelle collective office,
met the team.
Everyone is so sweet.
Now I have some solo downtime.
I'm currently in Hong Kong Central.
I'm gonna check out some of the stores near here
and just walk around
because we have lunch plans at 1.30
and I'm already so full
and I need to like digest everything.
I'm actually walking around aimlessly.
It's actually so hot and humid.
So I came in this random store
just to like cool off a little bit
and they have the cutest ornaments.
I think I'm gonna get one of these.
I haven't tried much like Chinese food.
Okay.
But I'm open to trying anything.
Okay.
When someone's giving you a service,
it's like God,
but when someone gives you something
that's like not a service,
then it's like
That's really good.
Oh my gosh, it's so hot.
Good morning, day two in Hong Kong.
Literally you guys,
I don't know how I'm alive.
I'm so sleep-deprived.
The last three nights I've had zero hours of sleep,
four hours of sleep
and three hours of sleep last night.
I don't know why I slept at 1 a.m
and I woke up at 4.30 a.m
and I've been up since 4.30 a.m
and it's currently like 9.
We're getting ready to eat some breakfast.
We're gonna try some Hong Kong style breakfast again.
We're going to like this one place called
Australian Dairy Company.
One thing to consider that everyone has been telling me
is with Hong Kong style breakfast,
it's very get in, get out.
The customer service is not going to be stellar.
Like they're not going to be servicing you
and waiting for you.
They want you to leave.
But just one thing to keep in mind,
they're not being rude.
It's just the culture.
Also, let me give you guys a little fit check.
This is my gray top from RuSophie,
my skirt from Danielle Buzio,
my boots from FM 2050
and my slightly yellow cardigan from American Vintage.
I realized even though it's really hot outside,
like you will be sweating.
It's very cold inside
because the ACs are blasting.
You should try it for the experience.
Yes, you can like have a little bit of everything.
We are in line for the Australian Dairy Company.
Line is really long, but it goes very quickly.
I feel like it took you 10 minutes to get like...
10 minutes, 15 minutes, 10 minutes.
Like almost halfway through the line.
We'll see what the hype is all about.
They're nicer to pretty girls.
Interesting.
Oh, we really are.
Okay, well, this will be a test to see if we're pretty enough.
Faith card decline or...?
Wait, why did the food come so fast?
The food here comes like immediately.
It's crazy.
No wonder the line moves so fast.
Until like 11.
We usually don't eat this, but...
This one is the corned beef with scrambled eggs.
It looks so good.
I would be so intimidated if I was here
without a local speaking person.
It's kind of scary.
It's so mean, right?
Yeah, yeah.
The culture is very like rushed.
Get in, get out.
Oh, cold moon.
Is this called milk pudding?
Yeah, milk pudding.
Pretty!
Yeah.
I've been waiting for you.
Does it taste good?
It actually tastes good.
Oh, okay, okay.
When you get older, you get into buying foreign medicine
instead of foreign beauty products.
Oh, I've seen the waffles too.
Everyone eats that.
Oh my gosh.
Oh, yeah, that's kind of a lot.
Do you have a favorite flavor?
The plastic one?
This?
Yeah, someone gifted it to me.
I love it.
It's really, really good.
Oh, that is really good.
Two boxes of the classic ramen.
Yeah.
Get me this one.
I am finally taking the MTR for the first time.
I'm actually really excited.
I feel like a local.
I did it!
Get some gems.
Like 48 hours in Hong Kong to really explore.
And I'm so sad.
I feel like I'm parting ways with Hong Kong way earlier than I planned to.
I feel like there's still so much that I want to do here.
Like two days in the city is so short.
I really like the city.
It's very charming.
It's so fun.
There's so much culture and history and I've learned just so much.
Being here, Michelle and Sarah were literally the best hosts ever.
And I just had the best trip.
And now I have to head to Bali to go to my friend's wedding.
But before that, I'm trying to make the most of my last day here.
It is pretty early in the morning.
I packed up already and I'm gonna go head to Bakehouse.
Maybe get some coffee and then I probably need to head to the airport.
I'm actually so sad.
I don't want to leave.
I just walked over to a nearby coffee shop and I got this Macanese custard coffee.
It's supposed to be a coffee style originating from Macau, I guess.
It's quite good.
It has a Macanese custard coffee and a latte with a creamy egg custard in here.
And then the sugar on top is torched.
This is so interesting, but it's really good.
Finally, a Bakehouse egg tart.
See you next time.
Have fun.
Yeah, I'll be back.
Take care.
