Screaming Piha Call & Sounds - One of the loudest birds in the Amazon!

The call of the Screaming Piha (Lipaugus vociferans) is one of the loudest bird sounds in the Amazon rainforest. The piercing calls of this species have been used (and overused!) extensively in documentaries as a typical Amazonian background sound. Male Screaming Pihas gather in leks in the forest understorey and often call for extended periods in order to attract females.
