First Christmas tree of the year I wanted to do โmy takeโ on the Ralph Lauren theme, this time with some blue and green giving it more of a moody equestrian vibe. I hope you guys enjoy this video as much as I did making it!
Hello and welcome to my first Decorate for Christmas video out of six.
Today we're starting off with the Ralph Lauren theme, better said my take on the Ralph Lauren
theme.
As you can tell, I didn't end up going for the traditional colors like the reds and the
greens.
I wanted to do more of an equestrian, moody, rustic vibe and it turned out even better
than I was expecting.
I am so in love with it.
I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did creating it and get some inspo.
So without further ado, let's get started with the video.
All right, so this is what we're going with.
I decided to go with blues and greens for this version with also some like golds and
brown tones here.
My main inspiration came from this Tartan blue and green print and I feel like we're
off to a good start.
Hopefully I'm more of a visual person and I need to see everything laid out and I feel
like this is also a great way to show you guys everything that I'm going to be using.
Starting with the blue garland.
This is from Hobby Lobby and I have, I believe five of these.
They're pretty long as you can tell, and then I decided to get two packs of these like medium
large ish size balls.
These are also from Hobby Lobby.
These right here are from at home and they are real glass, but I love the shape that
they have.
So I got two packs of those.
These are bells, a little bit bigger than these.
Also from Hobby Lobby.
I got two packs of those.
I have two packs of the blue and green Tartan.
These are from Amazon.
This is my first time using ribbon on a tree, so fingers crossed that it actually works
out.
I've never been a huge fan of ribbon on tree to be honest, so we'll see how that works.
To give it more of a rustic and equestrian vibe, I decided to use these two clear glass
with gold ornaments.
These are from Home Goods and these bells are from Hobby Lobby.
These are from Hobby Lobby as well.
These little horses, I have five of those.
I got these from my other tree, but I'm thinking of using them in this one because it might
go with the vibe, but these are from Walmart.
This is the twinkly star that I use in all my trees.
I really love this tree topper, it's from Target and it's worth every penny.
And then I randomly found these bears at at home and I had to get some, so I have five
of those.
Then for greens, I have a few packs of these, but I just decided to lay two of them.
These are from Hobby Lobby.
These are old from many years ago when I did a green and white theme and I don't think
they sell them anymore.
I got it from a random website many years ago, like I mentioned, and I think they closed
down, but I'll try to list or link similar pieces.
I have, I believe, five of these and then a few more of these right here.
For some reason, this was giving me raw flooring and I decided to add it as well.
This is from at home.
I was only going to do one, but I decided to get two just in case.
Back with the plaid, we have these two from Hobby Lobby and then these two are from HomeGoods.
Last but not least, I have four packs of these green ones.
I thought the shape was really funky and different.
And then our Christmas tree.
I also have these bells that I might remove the red bow, but I'm not sure yet.
Now in terms of picks, you guys know that I love adding picks to the tree.
I was looking for blueberry picks and I couldn't find any.
And now I'm considering using just like regular tree sticks from our backyard.
So we'll see how that turns out.
Alright, so we're going to start with the blue ornament garland and then we'll add the snow.
So I ended up putting all the garland that I had.
I could have sworn I had five packs.
I only have four and I doubled the layers, like the garlands, into two per section.
So now I need two more and Eric is on his way so that I can finish the bottom part.
But I am really liking how it's looking so far.
Shout out to Eric for going to Hobby Lobby very last minute.
Let's continue.
I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about this ribbon.
I've never worked with ribbon before on a tree, so wish me luck.
But I did get this garden, right, flower wire.
I heard that this is really good to add the ribbon and also to attach all the ornaments
nicely on the tree.
This is just like floating on there.
So I'm going to adjust it and add the ribbon somehow.
I don't know, I'm like...
Okay, I think I'm going to try to start at the top.
I saw someone do something like this.
I couldn't find regular scissors.
So we're using kitchen scissors.
It's clean.
I don't even think you can see it properly.
I'm not loving that.
I'm loving it.
I hate it.
What am I saying?
Tรบ sabes porque imagรญnate.
ยฟQuรฉ se va a hacer?
Let's just go on to the next.
Oh my God.
It looks so bad from this side.
How do people make this work?
Like a genuine question.
Okay, I think I'm just going to try to quite literally put it in there.
You know what I mean?
Quite literally.
And hopefully that works.
I love that.
Don't love that.
I don't like, hate it anymore.
I do dislike the little ribbon situation that I did up there.
Today is literally one of the windiest days, but I went outside and got a bunch of like
dead sticks to put on the tree.
I really wanted to find something to make it a little bit more rustic.
As you can tell, I added some touches of browns, which I love, but I think these sticks will
be really nice.
And then I also ordered some birds that should have arrived today, actually.
I think we'll check it out.
I think this might help.
I got these birds.
You guys know what?
I love adding birds to the tree and these are so realistic looking and they have like
glimpses of blues.
Oh no.
I actually ended up just getting the browns, but I love these.
I'm going to stick these all throughout the tree and then sporadically add the birds.
I got a pack of 12, but they also sell the pack of six.
I even found these that have like little, what would these be called?
Not pinecones, but super cute.
I think I got way too many sticks, but I was also thinking we could probably do a little
flower arrangement.
I also got these bells, but I don't know how we're doing it now.
I don't know how I feel.
Maybe.
Maybe because these are perfect.
All right, here is how it ended up looking.
I am so in love with how it turned out.
It's exactly what I was going for, more of that woodsy equestrian vibe.
I wanted to do something different than the typical red, green, traditional colors, but
I love it so much.
I use everything that I thought I was going to use except for the blue ornaments.
So for the garlands, like you guys saw, I got an extra one, basically have six in total,
two per row.
And then I also added these little birds that I got last minute from Amazon.
I am obsessed with these little horses.
I wish I could find a couple more and add them.
And of course, one of my favorites has to be the green deer.
We did two, one here, one there.
I kind of want to get another one and put it maybe here.
That way you can see it right when you walk into the room.
I also ended up adding some brown ornaments, lighter and darker.
These little ones, the bears are my favorite.
I also love how the bells turned out.
This vent is one of my least favorite things about living in an older home, but the bells
turned out amazing.
These have to be one of my favorite ornaments.
But yeah, that's my take on the Rothlorn tree.
I hope you guys enjoyed it and got some inspo.
I'll show you guys how I decorate the rest of the room, including the mantle and everything
else.
But tonight, I just wanted to show you guys the tree and have it up for you guys as soon
as possible.
These are the ornaments that I ended up not using.
All of the blues, basically.
I just stuck with the garlands.
And then I just used one of these.
I hope you guys enjoyed it and got some inspo.
I also loved how the bows turned out.
I basically just got lazy and ended up cutting them and stuffing them randomly throughout.
And it worked out really well.
So thank you so much for watching.
I'll try to link as much as I can in the description box.
I'll also show you guys how I decorate the rest of the room in a separate video.
But I really wanted to get this video for you guys as soon as possible.
So see you next time.
Bye!
