Chinese Crime Networks Laundered Over $16 Billion in Cryptocurrency in 2025

Chinese criminal networks moved over $16 billion in illicit funds through cryptocurrency last year, according to a new report from blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis. The report says the groups accounted for nearly 20% of all illegal crypto activity, through the use of Telegram and casinos to move money.
