Beginner vs Fortgeschritten Perfekt für die PRÜFUNG Deutsch A2 B2
Hello and welcome back to our
channel I'm really glad you 're here
with us today Today we're talking about a topic
what every German learner should
truly master is how to properly
introduce oneself in German—this isn't just useful in real life
for example when meeting new people or
at work as well as in a spoken German exam
And it doesn’t matter whether it’s an A2 B1 or C1 exam
The first task is almost always
Please introduce yourself
And right there you can either say just the bare essentials or
you can directly impress the
examiners with your excellent German
That's why today you're getting two
versions from me: a simpler safer
option perfect for getting started and an advanced elegant version
If you already speak a bit more German
And right at the very end there's even a shadowing exercise waiting for you
a short conversational speaking practice
You can then immediately practice and apply what you've learned
And as always we also have a free
I've prepared a PDF for you so you can download
it at your leisure and review everything again
You'll find the link below in the video description
Now let's move on to our first point
which is the name
Alright and we begin with the absolutely most
important part of any introduction: your name
In an exam that's the moment when the exam begins You
arrive collect yourself and can then confidently begin
That's why I always recommend starting off calm and clear
The sentences you absolutely need for this are the basics
e basics of the German language namely I am called my name
is or I am Once you've said
your name you can if you'd like
Add even more information
That's especially advantageous in exams since it directly demonstrates
that you master far more than just standard phrases
For example you could add: "I have two surnames because in our
country women keep their own name
and add their husband's name "
Or my
parents gave me the first name Blablabla because
it means peace love or whatever in my native language
Or I have the first name Blablabla
In your country
many women are named that or many men are named that
After you've given your name
The next logical step is naturally where are you from
Best to say I'm from plus your country
This is a standard sentence you absolutely must be able to use
Remember the structure: come from plus your country
or perhaps a city
Warning some countries have an article in the German language
Only a few countries but you should know this
Among these are for example the United States Turkey Lebanon and so on
In this case you then need the article in the dative case
because "from" is followed by the
dative case For example I come
from Turkey or the USA which is plural so I come from the USA
You can then enhance this sentence with additional information such as how many
residents your city or country has what
makes it particularly beautiful and so on
Here's an example: my country for instance
Brazil has over xy million inhabitants
Brazil is very beautiful because
it lies by the sea My city is
interesting because it has wonderful
museums or an excellent theater
You can enjoy going out in the evenings there very well
Next we'll talk about where you're living now
Because maybe you're already living in Germany
It's good if you mention how long you've been living
here For example I've been living in Germany for two years
I've been living in Regensburg for five months
If you'd like to say more why don't you explain why you're here
or why you came here
Of course there are totally individual reasons for that
But here are a few examples
I came here because my husband is from Germany
or because I received an excellent job offer here
because the situation in my home country is bad because
I want to build a better life for myself in Germany
Attention here: when you provide a reason and use a "weil"
clause the verb must always go at the end of the sentence
It is a subordinate clause with the verb placed
at the end Additionally of course you can report
How you feel about your new home or city
That can be positive
But it can of course also be negative
I also really like it here in Regensburg and
Munich because there are so many young people around
I feel at ease here because I find this city very vibrant
Or I don't like it here because there are few leisure options
Attention here—'gefallen' is a verb that takes the dative case
That's why we say "mir gefällt"
or "mir gefallen" in the plural
Not that I'm particularly fond of it or anything
Now we come to a very important topic: work and career
Here you can describe your professional journey
What training have you completed
What did you study Where have you
worked and so on For instance in
my hometown I did an apprenticeship
Made into a cook or a photographer
Here you see that is to the plus male professions
and for female professions the plus for female professions
or in my home country I studied medicine
If you'd like to talk about your
current situation you could say
for example right now I'm a student
Right now I have a part-time job
I am currently unemployed
If you don't have a job
I am currently a homemaker
Currently this very word is showing
Currently this is your current status
This is what you are doing right now
It's especially nice during German exams when you
describe what you plan to do after the German course
What are your goals for the future
When I'm fluent enough in German I'd like to train to become
a nurse or an electrician Or
maybe I'll study computer science
Or should I start my own business
In the next section you can talk about your family
For example I am single or I am married
I am divorced
This means your marriage has ended and you are no longer married
I am widowed
This means your husband or wife has passed away
I have x children
For example they are three and five years old
If you want to be more precise you can say I have one child
A daughter She is five years old
Or I have a son and a daughter
He is three years old and she is five years old
If you'd like to share more
about your family you could
say My older daughter is in school in the fifth grade
My young daughter attends kindergarten
Or my son is only two years old and he's still at home
Or I have three siblings
They live in Spain
In conclusion we'll talk about the languages you can speak
My native language is Arabic
I speak a little German
You can add that too
For example I also
speak English French Spanish and so on
I studied English for three years in school
I also speak a bit of Turkish
So now it's your turn
You should now become active
That's why we're doing a shadowing exercise now
Shadowing is essentially an imitation technique
That means I'll now read you an example
introduction text aloud
Trying to imitate me as closely as possible
Also pay attention to how I emphasize the words
ow I use intonation in my sentences for example and how quickly I speak
So try to follow my lead and imitate me as closely as possible
To repeat the
pronunciation You can repeat this step as many times as you need or wish
so you can feel truly secure
Good afternoon my name is Maria My parents gave me the first
name Maria because in my native
language it means "the beloved "
I'm from Brazil from São Paulo
The city has about twelve million inhabitants
and is very beautiful because it's highly multicultural
and nearby is the sea
I have lived in Munich for two years now I moved
here because my husband found a job in the city
I really like Munich because there are so many parks and recreational activities here
I trained to become a photographer in my home country
Now I need to focus on learning German thoroughly
When I'm fluent enough in German I want to work in a photography studio
I have been married for five years and have a
daughter She is six years old and is in first grade
My native language is Portuguese
I also speak English and a little German
Now it's your turn Feel free

in writing in the comments and introduce yourself
