In this episode of Antiquities Explorer, I explore how the ancient Egyptians tried to protect their continued existence, and why that system was never as secure as it looked.

We begin in the Valley of the Kings, descending into royal tombs cut deep into the cliffs. From there, we move to the Valley of the Queens, where smaller, less consistent tombs reveal how the system strained as it filtered down the social hierarchy. Finally, we travel to Deir el-Medina, the village of the artisans who built the royal tombs themselves.
