Mimbres Mythology Life Ways

The images discussed here today were painted on the inside of prehistoric bowls. These bowls were made between A.D. 900 and A.D. 1130 by the Mimbres people from western New Mexico. These figurative vessels give us a window into the past, a time machine where we can glimpse a bit of the culture and stories from ages ago. Many of the tools, toys, lifeways, legends, heroes and monsters of this long lost culture are shown in the paintings.
