windsurfing day 3

Hi guys, this is the next day with the same gear, winds 18 to 24 knots, northeaster, same gear except I changed from a 38mm fin to a 44cm fin, which seems to be right on the edge of being too long, so I'm in the hunt to find a smaller fin now. In between those two sizes. Conditions were good, I've been busy down there on the water over the weekend, Christmas parties, heaps of kiters, I'm on my own like normal. Sometimes I'm doing a bit of swimming, things don't go well, but you don't see that. Today I lost my shoe, my boot had come off, I had to swim for like 7 minutes to go retrieve my shoe, couldn't let go of my gear or else I'd end up in the surf. One of the clips I actually outran a twin tip kiter, which always feels good when that happens. I think this is the clip that I lost my shoe on, did a tumble in the water, shoe came off, had my hat and my sunnies. So this day everything seemed to be going well, seemed to be set up well, but I used it the following day, which I haven't seen yet, and didn't go well at all, which I'll see shortly. Don't know why, similar conditions. Maybe this gear is on the edge of its capabilities and its wind strength.
