UK Responds to Trump's Warning on Closer Ties With China
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s warning that it’s dangerous for the UK to do business with China.
The comment from Starmer comes as he wraps up his visit in Shanghai.
"I've seen the clip, and I think he then immediately goes on to talk about Canada,” said Starmer, “but look, the U.S. and the UK are very close allies, and that's why we discussed the visit with his team before we came. And I think I'm right in saying that President Trump is himself visiting China or expected to visit China in April."
Trump also said Thursday that it’s even more dangerous for Canada to get into business with China, saying Canada is not doing well and that it can’t look at China as the answer.
