Hello friends, welcome back.
Hyun Bin recently opened up about stepping into villain territory for the first time
in Disney Plus Made in Korea.
I never saw Baek Gi-tae as a simple villain, he explained.
Yes, he does terrible things, but there are moments you can almost understand him, and
moments that make you really uneasy.
That mix of dark charm and moral complexity, he added, is what made the role so irresistible.
Not just for him, but for viewers too, who likely felt torn between being fascinated
and unsettled.
The most heartwarming reaction, however, came from his biggest fan at home.
His wife, Sun Ye-jin.
She watched the entire series from start to finish and told him she really enjoyed it,
adding that she saw a side of him she hadn't seen before, and she loved it.
Even more impressively, she had known about his 14-15kg weight gain for the role well
before filming began, and fully supported his transformation, showing true partnership
and encouragement.
Hyun Bin also expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response from fans, noting
that viewers seem especially drawn to the slow-burn tension, layered characters, and
The more people watch, the more they enjoy the thrill and the build-up, he shared.
With the series receiving such praise, it's clear his villain era has captivated audiences
far and wide.
And of course, earned the admiration of Sun Ye-jin too.
Thank you for watching.
