Our First Family Camping Trip

Alright guys, we are about to go on our first camping trip in this Sprinter van. But my kids don't know yet, so I'm gonna go surprise them with it. They have no idea. They have been dying to go inside our camper van, and I just rented this one out, and we are going camping. By the way, none of us have ever been camping, so this is gonna be a very big adventure right now. Abella, Neo. You remember how I told you I was gonna have a surprise for you guys? I have the surprise. You know what it is? No. Alright, come outside. Outside? Yeah, come on. Outside? Neo, you wanna see the surprise too? Yes, he does. Are you guys ready? Was it your atrocious outfit that was the surprise? You guys have to wait here, okay? Abella, no peeking. No peeking! Daddy is having difficulties, but just, just, thank you for being so patient. What is it? You wanna see inside? Yeah! We're literally gonna go camping, guys. Neo, is this cool? Oh my gosh! This is so cool, right? What is it? It's a bed up here. Neo, look at that! We've never been camping before. Okay, I do have to go get some things ready. No, like today! Yeah, like today, after gymnastics we're gonna go. No! Yay! No, that's where we sleep. You guys are sleeping over here. No! Yeah. Alright guys, so we are in our camper van and finally ready to leave. Abella, are you ready? Yeah! You're like super ready? Yeah! Neo, are you ready? Alright, whoever's ready scream louder. Ah! Okay. Oh, Neo is excited too. This is gonna be so much fun. The only problem is our camper spot that we're gonna stop at closes at eight to get in and it's three hours away and it's already six. So, I think we may have to sleep in a parking lot. That would be kind of not good. Abella, we never gave a camper van tour. So, we'll give you guys a little house tour right now. Here's a front seat. That front seat turns. Yeah, and they turn around. This turns into a bed. A table can come up. Yeah. And that's our bed. Okay. And then mom and dad are sleeping up there. Wait, actually no, we're sleeping there and you're sleeping here. No. Sorry to tell you. This is the kitchen also with the stove and stuff. That's rude. Well, when you're older you get to make the rules. Alright, mommy is finally here. We can't forget the jam, you guys. Oh yeah, we can't forget the jam. And we gotta get going mommy cause it's literally like an hour until it closes and like we'll not have anywhere to sleep except for our van. At least we won't be homeless. Bye Camp Am. Bye Neo. Alright guys, we are officially off to our first camping trip. Ah! We got two hours and 40 minutes till we get there so enjoy the ride. So, we're off the path. The kids are asleep. The gate to get into this place may or may not be closed. We have 30 minutes on this dirt road. It's super bumpy. That would really only go five miles per hour. So, I'm hoping that you're taking us in the right direction cause I don't feel like this is the right direction. So, it's 10.30 p.m. and we have made it to our campground but the gate is locked and Crystal's all the way over there looking for like someone to open it which I don't know if she has. This is crazy. We went to like three different wrong places just trying to figure out where to go. It's actually like one. It's 31 degrees outside. We are not prepared for this. Crystal's coming through. Let's see what she says if she has an update. Any update? There's like nobody. Oh my God. It's so cold. We're not prepared for this. We're just gonna have to like camp it out. Oh my God. Wait, what are we doing? Just like bag up and like go. Go to the other place? No, we're staying here. Hey guys. It's so cold. Look at it. So, we can either do two things. I stay here and then like someone's gonna come and just be like, yo, you can't be here and be like actually, you guys should let us in because we paid to stay here or we can go like around and then like see the other entrance is open but there's a chance it's not. Mail's at no service. So, I think we should just like park it here. We got food. We got shelter. What's important. What do you think, Daddy? I just don't see a spot for us to like park over here. I'll park right here. Anyone needs to come park right here. Right in front of the gate? Right here, yeah. Who can say something? The problem is, what if they open this thing at 6 a.m. and then like they wake us up at 6 a.m.? I don't care, I don't care. They just leave me? Executive decision, right? We gotta just pull over to the side at least. Huh? You okay? Oh, yeah. So, we're just gonna do an update for everybody. We're just kinda camping outside of the campground. So, we're like real deal camping over here. You ready for this, Abella? She's very unimpressed by this. She's like, she's been saying for the past hours that I don't wanna go home. This is a disaster. We'll see you in the morning. Hopefully, we'll get to our campsite. You doing okay? Doing the drill? Time to go to sleep? Okay, fine. Top of the morning, guys. We are in our parking spot. Mommy woke up early and found a ranger and moved us. So, thanks, Mommy. We're apparently in the middle of nowhere and it is 32 degrees outside. So, we are freezing. And we did not prepare for this, Bella. We did not prepare for this weather, Mommy. First of all, I'm gonna blame this on our assistant because she was like, no, you need both. You need like warm clothes and you need cold. But this is like winter clothes. Yeah, this is freezing. 32 degrees. Like, it could literally snow if it rains. I need my ski clothes. Yeah, for real. For real. Good morning. Hi, Dada. This is actually really cool. We're like in the middle of nowhere right now. This is crazy. There's no noise at all. We got firewood. I don't know how we're gonna light it. We're gonna have to figure that part out. But we can make a fire. Hi, bubbles. Whoa, look, this is so cool. We can play hide and seek. Oh, look at that. There's a hide and seek. This is so cool. I don't know how to make a fire, but we could try to do that. Can I show Bella an extra surprise I had? I did this specially for you. So we are gonna make an actual campfire. Okay, Neil? First of all, that's not a chair. That's a firewood. So we're gonna need you to get off. Okay? I have a chair for you. We're gonna figure this out together, guys. Today's gonna be awesome day. You should try this at home if you have a flyer place because this is so good. Abella, you like it? Yeah. Camping is fun. You look happy. I love it. You do? Even when I got cranky? All right, guys. So we are heading into town because we went camping and mommy forgot to buy s'mores. Mommy forgot to buy s'mores. So we have to go buy s'mores. I told you to stop. You just wanted to go into town and get some wifi. We got here at 10 30 at night. Imagine we would have stopped for s'mores. We got here at like 11 or 11 30. It would have been horrible. You guys want to spend some time in town or you guys want to come back right away? Come back right away. Are you serious? You like camping that much? It's actually really fun. We're thinking about investing into a Sprinter van. Do you think we should buy one of these vans? Yeah. Can we go camping like all the time? Yesterday night when we got here. All right, wait, wait. You're way too close to the stream, my love. This is the gate that we got locked out of and we slept over there. But now we know that Crystal can just open the gate. I can. I feel really cool now that I know this. Go. See her open this gate. Wow, it was that easy and you crawled through it yesterday. That's crazy. All right, Crystal's going to go throw her waste. Okay, it's also the kids and stuff. And trash. That's disgusting. It's not the so glamorous part of camping. Mommy just threw your pee away. All right, guys, so we switched campgrounds. This is an update for everybody. The last campground, which is not very fitting for us. It's amazing for people that are like- Pro campers. Dirt roads. Look at us. We look like we would fit like this, right? Yeah, look at me. I was not made for that other camp life. So this is a bougie camp life. More fitting for us. But this one, there's a grocery store three miles away and me and Abella are going to go get some s'mores because we didn't get s'mores yet because we saw this campsite. So we're going to ride the bike to the grocery store. Neil's sleeping. Yeah, Neil's taking his nap and Mommy's going to set up camp. And Ziko's going to stay there. And they warned us that Ziko needs to stay close to us because there's bears and coyotes here. So, and the kids too. So that's not scary at all. Are you ready, Abella? She needs to put a helmet on. We can't mention the bears and the coyotes around Abella because she is afraid of flies. She would die if she knew that there was bears and coyotes here. Are you ready, girlfriend? Adios. We are going to get some s'mores! ♪ Out of my mind, I'd be so blind, how could I not see? ♪ That's so cool. ♪ Awake on the floor, looking up, wanting more, this is so unreal. ♪ We actually got a red leaf. Wow, you got a perfect one. Made it to the grocery store. This is the chocolate we need to get. It's Hershey's. There. Can I put this helmet? No, you can't. I'll have a deal with you. You can't get a balloon, but you can get one of those. No. You don't want one of those? No. The eggs? No. No, we're not getting the balloon. All right, we got our s'more stuff. And what did you get, Abella? And we got all the s'mores. All right, let's go. You ready? Abella, you want to come with me and set up the tent upstairs? Yeah. You're going to go up first, Abella? Let's go, camper girl. We're going to open this thing up, Abella. So you pull it out, and then you... She's going to make the camp all by herself. Pull this up. All the way up, all the way up, all the way up. This is fun! And you're going to tuck one corner. See the long side, Abella? Yeah. I did this a hundred times at school. Exactly. Show me what you got, girl. You have to tuck it in. This is not the way I do at school. So, this... Oh, it keeps popping off. I think that you're supposed to tuck the other side in first. I did it. Kind of. Look. I don't know if it's too small, or if it's just me, but that kind of... When we lay on it, it'll flatten out. You want to see my creation? Yeah. I think it's pretty good. Whoa! It's cool, right? Yeah, but the corners are not that... Yeah, the corners are just going to stay like that. You guys want to go make s'mores? Yeah. What do you say? S'mores, or mac and cheese? Mac and cheese. Can we do s'mores? Yeah, I think he wants more... I think we should do s'mores. I think he just doesn't know what s'mores are. You want chocolate? Yes. Let's go! Good job, Neil. Neil's bringing his chair back. Good job! You guys saw that? Okay, so, there's an art to this, okay? Do you know how to make a s'more? Yeah. Yeah? So, here is your marshmallow. But, typically, the chocolate, you put it where? On top. Nope. What we're going to do, we're going to send these marshmallows into the operating room. Your job, as the s'more doctor, is to open this and shove this in. Now, it's a very sticky situation. Let me go get the sticks, okay? Can I have that one? Yeah. A little bit of chocolate, or a lot? The treat! Oh, you don't want the chocolate? Treat. Give it to daddy. How is it, Abella? It's okay. Mine was nicer. That's perfect. Mine's perfect. Perfectly floral. That's not even burnt. You do have a chocolate theme back there. Yeah. Neo, stop stealing the chocolate! So, quick update, guys. Crystal doesn't feel safe with the kids sleeping in here with me because she just feels like there's going to be a bear or something. But, screw me, obviously, because I'm allowed to sleep in here. But, I'm going to sleep in here to test out the experience. I'm going to get the proper camping experience up here while they sleep cozy in a heated van. Now, I really think it's because Crystal's bougie and she wants all this space. And, it's pretty cold, but whatever. Isn't it so cool? All right, so I ended up not sleeping in the tent yesterday because it was freezing and I'm not properly... This is all... Tell the truth. You were shivering. Yeah. You came to me and you were like, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh. This is all I got because someone didn't pack me, you know, other clothes. I've never been... But, we got bubbles now for the kids. So, we just got back home from our marvelous camping trip. That was much needed. The kids loved it. We loved it. And we did this really as a test run to see if we would invest into a camper van. And I think that both of us agree that we are going to. Yeah. So, that's really exciting. We figured out like some things we like and some things we need and some things we don't really need. But yeah, we're going to create, hopefully, the perfect camper van. I already have the name. We're going to name our camper van? Yes. They all need a name. Ford Chamblee. Because it's four. And then like Chamblee. Oh, because there's four of us. Four of us. Ford Chamblee. That's actually a cool name. We should write that. Ford Chamblee in the making. We should write that on the camper van. That'd be really cool. And if you guys have any other names for our camper van, comment it down below and we'll pick a better name. I think we will. We'll get a better name than that. I really liked it though. There's so many like core memories that were unlocked and like, it was just so cool. It was so cool. And I felt like the kids are going to remember this forever and the more we do it, the better memories we're going to make. Bella was saying like, she wants to take her kids camping. I'm like, yo, chill. Like, you're not even close to that. But that's how much she loves it. So it's like. But anyways, let's end the night because we are exhausted.
