The Basilica of San Domenico in Arezzo, Italy, is home to one of history’s great masterpieces – Cimabue’s “Crucifix.” Painted in 1267, the “Crucifix” clearly demonstrates Cimabue’s attempt to break with the Byzantine style of painting by introducing naturalism.
