Exactly How Do I Set Up My Blind For Opening Week

Hey, what's up? I wanted to give you a look at exactly how I'm set up in my blinds.
I normally travel with a pop-up blind and I always have a Yeti chair. They're
so important for full-day sits. Trust me, don't negotiate on that one. All right, as I'm sitting,
my bow is right there to the right. Arrow's on it, release is on it, it's ready to go.
Then right here is my, I take my quiver off, I have my quiver right at my right hand.
So if something happens, I can literally go. All right, over here, put the backpacks in the front
all the time. If you put the backpacks in the front, they're out of your way and if you have
to maneuver your chair, you're not fumbling around with all that crap. Anything that can ting, ping,
I am currently two goes deep into this sit today. The one extra can I've got pinned down where it
won't rattle and I won't set anything on it. Yes, I'll put it in my backpack. The last thing on top
of it is zip it up. All right, backpack, I'll show you a backpack loadout or just look for it
because I'm sure I'll show you. But my spotting scope is there in case I need to throw it on this.
Okay, so tripod, the camera, self-film, front right corner, spread the legs,
spread the legs in the front and get them up tight and then sink the tripod in the back until
you're level. Works good, just be careful of any flash on the lens. Other than that, hydrate
like crazy. My hydration is always within reach and that's always on top of my bag.
When you get here and get situated, you know you're gonna get thirsty.
You might, if you know you're gonna go take a dump or something before first light,
like get that stuff ready and on the top, you know you're gonna use it. That's why I'm unzipped.
My spotting scope is in there but it's unzipped so if I need to pull that out to glass and set
it on my tripod, I'm not zipping and zipping. Hydration, you know you're gonna have it so
it's just laying on top but other than that, this is how I kick it and it works out awesome.
I always get a couple ranges and usually every hour, I'll set my timer on my wrist. You've seen
my little timer on my wrist under there. I'll set it for an hour, hit it and it just buzzes my wrist
in one hour so if I fall asleep, that could wake me up or when it buzzes, I use it as time to
refresh and I range, range, range, make sure my release is still on my sight, check my freaking
sight, make sure it's on what I just ranged. Just methodically doing those things is so critical
and the other thing is when I get the blind or when I put a blind, first thing I do is clear
the deck. Clear it. If you can't clear it, bring, I've got a Yeti blanket that I bring just so I can
lay it down. So there you go, that's the setup.
