Cat in a Tree Rescue - Snow

Snow was an unknown #cat when we met.

A Hilliard resident spotted this unknown giant floof in her backyard ash tree and gave me a call. I directed her to search for an owner or someone willing to take in the cat. The community responded quickly -even a friend from my high school reached out to me about this big boy. The tree was crispy, and there weren’t many large branches to allow me to get above the cat, so I had to get as close as I could and utilize the net. One concern was that the cat was completely silent throughout the whole process. This is behavior that suggests a cat might be feral. But how could such a giant beauty #persiancat be feral?
Hours after this #rescue I received a call from the cat’s owners. They heard that it was me who rescued the cat, and found me online. I was excited to return this big boy to his family, and rushed over to take him home. The family were the warmest, most inviting people. They insisted on feeding me and welcoming me into their home. As we were talking, I showed them a photo of me and Snow on the tree, and when they saw my helmet (@baladystitch ), one of them started speaking to another in Arabic. A young boy (the one who accidentally let Snow outside the previous day) left the room and returned with a #kufiyeh in his outstretched arms. They told me they brought his with them from their homeland and wanted me to have it.
I will cherish this gift always.
