48 Hours Inside Scotland’s Smallest City
This time, I’m visiting Stirling, one of the most historically important cities in Scotland and Scotland’s smallest city. Even though its home to just 35,000 people, Stirling has played a huge role in Scotland’s story.
In this video, I wander through Stirling Old Town, visit Stirling Castle, and explore places closely linked to William Wallace, including the Wallace Monument. I also visit Cambuskenneth Abbey and Bannockburn, the site of one of Scotland’s most important battles for independence, led by Robert the Bruce; the battle of Bannockburn.
Stirling is often visited as a day trip from Edinburgh or a day trip from Glasgow, but it’s compact, walkable, and packed with history and viewpoints. If you’re planning a Scotland road trip, looking for things to do in Stirling, or want a more local Scotland travel guide, this video shows why Stirling is such a rewarding place to explore.
