Hi, Dr. Malka here, your chiropractor and acupuncturist from Los Angeles. In case you
decide to seek acupuncture for your hand and finger pain, I want you to know what to expect.
I'm going to be placing these two-inch needles in the webbing of the hands,
and this is both a powerful energetic point in acupuncture as well as a means
to relax the muscles of the hands. They're going in like butter today.
And if the hands have a lot of arthritis, there'll be a little more resistance with the needles.
Sometimes I'll need to put two needles in the webbing. But I did have a patient who was in
his 60s, a guitar player, and was having difficulty playing guitar. And I did this a few times,
a few times in one week. And now he comes for monthly sessions, and he just released an album,
so that's great. Completely took away his hand pain. Also, if there's tightness in these areas,
you can also put some one-inch needles, something a little bit smaller. I'm going to use these
large ones because it's just what I have right now. Sometimes in this area, the thumb muscles
can get very tight. And then I would feed the needle right into the muscle. So these are left
in for about 5 to 10 minutes. Time to take them out. And the needles are so fine. You don't really
see any bleeding. Ah, feels great. We will be launching a new YouTube video every Wednesday
and Friday at 3 p.m. And I'll be available for any questions you have or suggestions
for future videos.
