Living on Water: Inside a Modern Floating Family Home | The Float House

The Float House by Tigg + Coll Architects is a contemporary floating family home located on the Grand Union Canal in northwest London. Designed within the narrow constraints of a private mooring, the house reinterprets canal living through a carefully planned interior, generous daylight, and a strong connection to the surrounding water. Its modular steel hull system allows for long-term maintenance despite limited site access, while durable materials and a restrained architectural language support comfort, adaptability, and a calm relationship with the landscape.
