These forks cost £91 off AliExpress and I'm going to test them today to see if I lose
another tooth or if I've just found the cheapest best forks ever.
Hello everyone, today is going to be epic because while exploring the crazy website
called AliExpress I found these.
Oh my god, look at them.
They look like Fox 36 factory forks but they're not, they're £91, they're called Thunder
Passacks and we're going to try them today and see if they snap and if they don't I might
have just found the cheapest best forks ever.
Let's get them fitted.
First off we're going to take the front wheel off, make life a lot easier.
There we go, then break off.
We now need to whip off the bar and stem.
Boom, bars off and like that we are ready for the Passack.
Get them on, then we're going to measure where we want to cut them.
Right, it's then time for the pipe cutter.
Boom, straight off.
Dreams, let's sand them down.
Let's get the Patax on and it's time for the star nut there.
Then we put the top cap bolt in.
There we go, fork's on, wheel is on and spinning.
Now we've just got to put the brake on and just like that the Passack Thunders are fitted
and ready for shredding.
Let's get out of here and give them their first testing.
We've come to the local woods to start things off with these cheap forks.
I want to start small because obviously they could just snap in my face so I'd rather be
on something a bit smaller for that.
So you've got a few tiny jumps here to get warmed up on.
Here we go, first lap on some jumps.
Oh yeah, dreams, working pretty well and we survived it.
Even on small jumps like this though, you get the added excitement of,
oh, the fork's going to snap.
The rebounders, well, it's crazy.
They've locked themselves out a bit.
I put a bit of air in them earlier, but they're working pretty good.
You can also lock them out completely, which feels weird.
So, so far they've passed that test.
Let's see if we can get some tricks on it.
Oh yeah, final trick, dreams.
I think I can flip that first one.
Wow, that was actually scary.
Quite a small one to flip.
Just waiting to like case and these snap, but seems like if you land smoothly on stuff,
90 quid is going to go a long way.
I'm well pumped.
Let's see what else we can find over there.
We now come over to the biggest gap in this wood.
It's like a nice little step up here.
The lip's a bit bumpy looking, but I'm sure that's not going to affect it too much.
Let's give it a go.
Actually, so far, I don't really notice anything wrong with them.
I mean, they're 27.5 forks.
I've got this big gap here and that's just made the front end a little bit higher.
But other than that, actually the dream, let's tail whip it with shorts on.
My cranks keep spinning, which sucks.
And something just undone on my rear hub.
So we're going to move on, fix that, ride some more stuff.
Let's go.
We've now come to the local skate park.
I love this place.
It's so much fun.
And the problem we had a minute ago was I hadn't tightened up my cassette enough.
So this little bit here was touching the frame and I couldn't pedal.
So that's what it was.
That's why we had to depart the woods quickly.
And my brand new t-shirt design is so dirty right now.
Look at that.
I'm so pumped on it.
This is the ocean and land design, which is available now to pre-order.
And it won't come dirty like that.
I've only got one of them and I used it the other day and something exploded on it.
And I'm just really crap at washing stuff.
It will come in bright white.
I'm pumped on it.
I'll tell you more about it later.
But anyway, we're at the skate park.
Let's do some tricks.
Oh, bar tap, please.
Oh, yeah.
I'm going to try a foot jam.
Like I said earlier, it's a 27.5, which means there's more foot for you.
More foot.
More room for your foot to get stuck, but I'm sure you'll survive.
Oh, yeah, that's made for it.
I've got to do that again.
It feels well nice.
Dreams.
One downside so far is that all new bikes have the wide headset.
So the new bikes have tapered headsets, steerer tubes.
So I've had to put like a special adapter on there.
And it kind of sounds like this at the moment,
which I don't know whether it's the headset or just the forks.
It's all a bit scary.
But they're still holding the wheel on for now.
They're looking quite straight.
I reckon we flare it.
That's going to be the first sort of hardcore impact onto the side, isn't it?
I'm going to do a little fun line now.
Jump in, do a few manoeuvres and then flip fakie on that steep bowl end there.
That's another good test for these beasts.
Here we go.
Transfer session here.
Boom.
Oh, yeah.
That's always so scary first go.
Flip fakes.
Stomped it.
Bike is still working.
What I want to do over there, though, quick foot jam whipper,
a few little bars, then we'll get out of here.
Whoa, sick.
Let's go.
We've come to the classic doom spot here for a bit of a suspension test in slow motion.
But to change it up a bit, I'm going to bar spin in all in slomes.
Then we'll see how much these forks do or don't work.
Dreams.
Oh, that was scary, actually, barring into them.
And then you got to see the suspension working pretty well.
I'm actually quite stoked on this.
91 quid.
I'm actually a super heavy guy as well.
So if you're a young rider and you want to finish off your bike build,
these seem like they're actually going to be a good choice.
I just spotted this, though.
Look, there's like a potential kicker to tree.
I'm going to try and go up to like two wheels onto the tree and then not land back into that hole.
Oh, yeah, that might work, actually.
I've got to like aim that way to get out of trouble.
Oh, God, that moron got his car in the way.
Oh, yeah, it's a road.
Oh, yes, somehow made that.
Let's go to a new spot.
We've now switched up for a quick one minute foil session.
And I'll let you know this T-shirt is inspired by my love of the sea and mountains.
As you can see, there's a mix of both.
It's available now, two weeks only pre-order,
then we'll send them out and you'll never see them again.
This is limited edition.
I'm pumped for it.
We're going to get out of here now and see if we can do some airs on the wing.
Let's see what happens.
Here we go.
Just got back from that sick session, done a few airs.
Love winging.
It's the best.
It's now time to get back on the Passac forks.
Love it.
Oh, yeah, look at this.
Bought trad changing robes.
You want one?
They're in the store along with the fresh new designs.
Right, let's go and see what else we can put these forks through.
Come on.
We've now come over to Twisted Oaks Bike Park,
hit a few bigger jumps and see what else these forks can take.
Let's get into it.
First trick with the cheapies, flip no-hander.
Well, good.
Cutty.
Let's stay with the no-hander theme.
Get a three-tuck.
Lovely.
We're doing a heavy banger now with these forks.
Yo, cleanies.
That bottomed them out then though.
I felt like I went a bit far then and they bottomed out so hard.
You know, I could probably pump more air into them.
And that is, that was a pretty big front flip.
Let me have a little replay quick.
So with front flips, I always travel a bit further than normal.
So I did get quite a heavy impact then, but yeah, fine still.
It is a bit windy over here and I really wanted to do the big line.
That's quite blowy for now.
So I think we're going to head into the woods
and see if it can handle my big slopestyle line.
Let's go and have a look.
Before we head over to the big line to test the forks further,
did you guys actually see yet that I have my own swatch?
This is like a dream come true.
Isn't that insane?
So it's spokes in there.
We've got my tooth on the side.
I actually don't want to get that one out because I need to keep that
because I just want to keep one forever.
It's so insane.
But look, as you can see, this spokes, we got my tooth there, my name on it.
You can actually also swap that for like mountains and a bike
and stuff, it's a bit sweaty, minging.
There's also this tire tread on there.
It's the first time they've ever done like a raised strap like that.
And it's my watch.
It's unbelievable.
I'm so stoked.
It's called the Sam Pilgrim Tread on it.
So if you want one, you can go and find it on their website.
And that box, look, I just sort of had to say,
like obviously I've shown you guys on Instagram,
but if you don't follow me, you won't have seen it yet.
So go and check it out on Swatch website.
I'm pumped.
Let's get over there.
We now come over to the pro line.
This is my slopestyle build here.
Got to open it up, go to the top and then see
if these forks are going to survive off that huge drop there.
Oh, look, the guys have done a bit of work here.
That's cool.
Look at the new grip on the wood up to the end.
That means we can ride it even when it's super wet.
That's cool.
That's scary for these forks.
Kind of a mini forest in there as well.
Look, if you zoom in, it's like, oh my God, that's going to look cool.
You're going to have to hit the wall ride to clear all the little forest.
Get down there, lubes.
All right, here we go.
Full length of the slope line with these cheap forks.
This big drop as well.
Oh, yeah.
Wall leap.
Dreams.
Straight up.
Oh my God, we're firing through.
Wow.
Huge.
Wow.
Survived the slope line.
That's actually insane.
You can ride technical big jumps of a £90 set of forks on there.
That is really crazy.
I mean, they feel, yeah.
Oh, that's scary though.
Look, like the bottom part here is sticking out more than the front,
which would mean they're kind of bent slightly.
Yeah, that's scary, but like, I'm super heavy, like I said,
so I feel like depending on what you're doing
and if you just want to get your bike build finished,
they would actually last for quite a while.
I mean, you've seen the stuff I've done on it today.
I'm quite, quite blown away.
I really wanted to ride the big line out there,
but unfortunately, it's blowing so much wind.
I mean, that's how we were able to do wing foiling earlier.
So that is about it, really.
They don't feel the best.
It kind of feels sketchy riding when you get into bigger jumps,
like the compression and stuff is strange,
but like I said, if you want to finish off your build
and just get out on your bike,
these £90 English pound forks are going to do you great.
Like I said earlier, the new ORTRAD design is available now.
Loving it.
It's going to be available in three colours, as you can see on the screen here.
If you want to get involved, the link's up the top or in the description.
Pumped on life.
See you in the next one, guys.
To the sky!
