Emma Stone Talks About Playing 'Cruella'

I don't mind telling you that I think I'm more excited for this movie than I've been for anything in a really long time. I really really really really because all you are so good in everything and this is like the cruella origin story right so we're going to understand why she's so. Why she's so yeah, I mean she's the worst of the worst I got to say in the in the Disney canon I think there's there's not much worse than skinning puppies, you know exactly pretty bad. Yes, but yeah, it's really kind of a reimagining of her story from the beginning, but it's at 70's London. So the music and the costumes and the whole feeling of that era is very potent in the movie and it felt like such an amazing play I felt like as if I came up with the concept I did not. But it didn't seem like a really incredible place to put this just diabolical person in this kind of counterculture era in London and it was is a very very fun experience and yeah, you see how she becomes so that the makeup is so she that I have a feeling that the makeup is going to influence like prom makeup I really. Yeah, yeah, well, I don't know I grew up in look like a light makeup moment to me. Yeah, you got to do the full. Natural makeup. So you had 47 different looks is that right 47. That's what I was told I I didn't count as we were doing it, I just remember that we were changing constantly it was like a full. A full new law every couple of hours, it felt like it was amazing and it there's so much detail in the costumes and and the hair and makeup it was just it was really it was really amazing, it's kind of possible not to feel fully like who eligible and they're like these genius artists putting you in this true unbelievable, you know all these get ups it was really really great. But so where does the story begin like how old like how old are you. Yeah, we started the very beginning. It is a very good place to start you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it starts at the very beginning and her name is Estella as a child and you sort of see these parts of her that are named cruella by her mother and then she changed it to Riley. And then to Riley when she's 16 and then she transitions in the crew.
