The revived Roman Empire is clearly forming and it's not returning by conquest.
Folks, it's actually returning by coordination.
And that's exactly how Rome came to power the first time.
God's Word told us to expect this.
We may be watching the very beginning of it.
Brace yourself, folks.
A new world order is coming and it's being formed before our very eyes.
All right, folks, let's get into this.
I have to tell you, we have been talking about this a lot.
I have been talking about the fact that we are seeing subtle headlines come across the way.
And those headlines mean big things.
And when I saw this headline, I knew that it was going to be an energy draining video
because there's a lot of complicated things that we're going to have to plow through.
But it is an important one because what we are watching
is yet another sign that things are changing in Europe
just as we would expect by reading and studying the Word of God.
So let's get into this title.
It says EU, that's European Union.
EU hosts emergency meeting over Trump's Greenland tariffs.
Germany threatens World Cup boycott.
Now you might think, well, they're threatening the World Cup boycott.
What in the world is that?
Why is that such a big deal?
You know, it's kind of a big deal.
And I'll explain it all in just a second.
So let's start into the article.
It says Treasury Secretary Scott Besant clarified Trump's positioning on Greenland overnight,
stating that we are not going to outsource our national security.
And by the way, they're not going to.
And there's a lot to talk about when it comes to this very issue.
We'll discuss it in just a minute.
But folks, let me just tell you something.
It's a lot bigger than people think.
And there's a lot more to it than people might actually think.
So let's go on with the article.
It says this.
The elites of the European Union are not best pleased at Trump's tariff threat on some European
allies that oppose the United States' efforts to acquire Greenland and immediately called
an emergency meeting of the ambassadors from the bloc's 27 nations to discuss just how
sternly worded their email response would be.
Go ahead.
Send the email response.
Mess around and find out it's not going to work out well, folks.
But nonetheless, let's get into the story, because the story here isn't what we're reading
right now.
The story is what this is more indicative of concerning the bigger picture with respect
to what we're seeing happening in Europe.
Look what it goes on to say.
As we detailed yesterday, Trump has reiterated numerous times that the United States needs
Greenland for national security purposes and warned that world peace is at stake if the
United States does not succeed in obtaining Greenland.
By the way, that's not an exaggeration.
I think that statement is a reasonable statement to make, especially understanding we don't
see the whole picture.
President Trump has a much better picture as to what's going on around the world because
of all the briefs that he receives.
But there is so many other things that have to be considered here, and we're going to
try to plow through those together.
I'm going to talk about Greenland.
I'm going to talk about why it is important and why it's not a new idea.
It's actually one that has existed for a long time, and we're also going to talk about what
I mean when I say a new world order is forming because this continues to give us these indications
that this is happening.
Let's continue on.
It says, meanwhile, the eight European nations, which are already subject to 10% or 15% terrorists
by the United States, have sent a small military presence to Greenland.
Yes, folks, a small military presence to Greenland.
By the way, this is more reflective of NATO and a few other things that have sort of complicated
the situation.
But nonetheless, it still is a very important point for us to be focusing on.
Here's a quote.
It says tariff threats undermine transatlantic relations and risk a dangerous downward spiral,
the group of the eight countries said in a joint statement on January the 18th.
As Jacob Berg represents below for the Epoch Times, the military deployment is intended
to bolster Arctic security as a shared transatlantic interest and poses no threat to anyone.
The nation said, adding that they are all ready for dialogue with the United States
based on principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity that we stand firmly behind.
We stand in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland,
the eight countries said, adding we are committed to upholding our sovereignty.
Okay, empty words, empty for a lot of reasons.
We might not have time to get into why so many of those words are empty.
But nonetheless, this is the position that they are taking.
And it's going to create a bigger problem down the horizon.
But the problem has nothing to do with the United States of America buying Greenland.
Okay, it's a bigger issue that a lot of people are too blind to be able to see
because they don't have the benefit that me and you have of the education of God's word.
That's because they've chosen not to have that benefit.
And it's important that we understand that.
So let's go on with the article, and then we'll start analyzing this a little deeper.
In an English translation of a written statement, Danish Prime Minister,
Mette Frederiksen said, since the US president's announcement of tariffs,
the Danish government has been in intensive dialogue with our allies.
Okay, fair enough.
You're going to be in intensive dialogue.
Guess what?
The tariffs are still coming.
She goes on to say, it's all the more important that we stand firm
on the fundamental values that created the European community.
We want to cooperate, and we are not the ones seeking conflict.
And I am pleased with the consistent messages from the rest of the continent.
Europe will not be blackmailed.
Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristensen,
echoed Frederiksen in a social media post on Saturday, adding,
only Denmark and Greenland decide on issues concerning Denmark and Greenland.
This is an EU issue that affects many more countries
than those now being singled out, he added.
Sweden is now having intensive discussions with other EU countries,
Norway, and the United Kingdom for a coordinated response.
Germany's Vice Chancellor and the Finance Minister, Lars Klingbeil,
said that a line had been crossed, adding that the affected nations
must not allow ourselves to be blackmailed.
Folks, I'm going to tell you this right now.
When we start talking about the insanity behind the deployment of the word blackmail,
I'm just dumbfounded by it.
Because it is a functional reflection of their desire to propagandize something
that is far more simple than anything they're trying to create.
Why?
Because they're trying to absolve themselves of the responsibility
that now must come by the bed that they made, okay?
They've got to lay in it.
And I think that this is really important to be able to understand
because there are bigger pictures here.
And we're going to talk about them in just a second.
He goes on to say this,
there will be a European response to this threat.
It's hilarious.
Now, this is a quote from Denmark's Defense Minister.
And the statement is,
it is unacceptable to hit countries that are now taking more responsibility
for our common security in NATO.
And it goes on to say, of course, that they're going to be having a meeting
with Mark Root on Monday, who is the NATO Secretary General.
Very interesting situation because the President of the United States
has a good relationship with him,
should be interested to see where that ends up going.
Not to be outdone,
France's Emmanuel Macron has called for the EU
to activate its so-called anti-coercion instrument
that can restrict access to the single market for American companies.
Of course, if he did that, it would be an absolutely huge mistake
and it would completely collapse the economy of a lot of European countries,
which is why I don't think that that's going to end up happening.
Here's another quote that we see here.
He will be in contact throughout the day with his European counterparts
and will request on France's behalf the activation of the anti-coercion instrument.
The FT reports that EU capitals are considering hitting the US
with 93 billion euro worth of tariffs
or restricting American companies from the bloc's market
in response to Donald Trump's threats to NATO allies
opposed to his campaign to take over Greenland.
The move marks the most serious crisis in transatlantic relations for decades.
Manfred Weber, President of the European People's Party,
the largest political party in the EU,
said the party would not back a trade deal with the US.
The EPP is in favor of the EU-US trade deal,
but given Donald Trump's threats regarding Greenland,
approval is not possible at this stage.
The 0% tariffs on US products must be put on hold.
The tariff list was prepared last year
but suspended until February the 6th to avoid full-blown trade war.
Its reactivation was discussed on Sunday
by the EU's 27 ambassadors
along with the so-called anti-coercion instrument, the ACI,
that can limit the access of American companies to the internal market
as the bloc wrestled over how to respond
to the US president's threat with punitive tariffs.
By the way, it's crazy because all they're doing
is shooting themselves in the foot
and it's not going to be a pretty picture for them
if they end up doing that.
And here's a quote from a European diplomat
who has briefed on the situation.
There are clear retaliation instruments at hand if this continues.
Trump's using pure mafioso methods.
At the same time, we want to publicly call for calm
and give him an opportunity to climb down the ladder.
The messaging is carrot and stick, they added.
European officials said that they hoped
their retaliation threats would increase bipartisan pressure
in the US against Trump's actions
and result in him retreating from his tariff pledge.
It is already a situation that no longer allows compromise
because we cannot hand over Greenland.
Said a fourth European official.
The reasonable Americans also know
that he has just opened a Pandora's box.
Has he really?
There's a lot of reasons why, folks,
he hasn't opened a Pandora's box with this
and we'll get into that in just a second.
The article goes on to say,
US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio
met with Denmark's Foreign Minister Lars Lok Rasmussen
and Greenland's Foreign Minister Vivian Malmstedt
at the White House on January the 14th.
Rasmussen described the talks as a frank
but also constructive discussion.
Trump said on January the 16th,
he was considering a wave of tariffs on European allies
if they don't go along with allowing the United States
to purchase the Danish territory.
The US President noted on social media
that attempts by the United States
to do this transaction for Greenland
date back over 150 years
and US President Andrew Johnson's administration
first floated the idea of expanding American influence
in the Arctic in the 1860s.
Trump has also previously signaled
that Greenland would be a wise investment
for the United States due to estimates of high quantities
of rare earth mineral deposits on the Arctic Island.
While the island was under formal Danish control
since the era of colonization in the early 1700s,
Greenland was granted self-governance in the 1970s
with the creation of a Parliament and Self-Government Act of 1979
expanding the island's autonomy.
However, the island didn't gain full self-governance until 2009.
On January 9th, the officials from Greenland
including Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen
and multiple political party leaders
released a statement reaffirming Greenland sovereignty
and rejecting any claims
that would impede the island's autonomy.
We don't want to be Americans.
We don't want to be Danes.
We want to be Greenlanders.
The statement said,
the future of Greenland must be decided
by the Greenlandic people.
No other country can interfere in this.
Well, there's going to be a lot of people
that are going to beg to differ on that one
because it's going to become a real issue.
Now, Germany, of course, is getting involved in this
and German politician Jürgen Hart
spoke to newspaper Bild recently
to suggest that Germany could withdraw
from football's biggest competition
in response to Trump's threats against Greenland.
Dropping out of the tournament
would, however, only be considered a last resort
in order to get Trump to see sense
on the Greenland issue, he said.
This is just hilarious.
Germany are not the only nation
who have raised concerns over the participation
in this summer's World Cup.
Back in September 2025,
Spanish government officials suggested
that withdrawing their national team
was on the cards due to the political tensions
on the global stage.
It seems to us that boycotting the World Cup
would be a naive and, we're sure,
highly unpopular move,
most notably in Germany,
who are among the favorites,
likely ending disastrously
from a domestic political perspective.
Perhaps the politicians are not aware
of the prolariat's passion for the beautiful game.
I think that's a funny way to end the article.
But folks, let's talk about this, okay?
Let me bring some analysis to the table
because it is pretty important
and we have to ask some important questions.
We're gonna talk about the new world order formation
in just a second because this is very highly telling.
Okay, first, let's talk about
why it would be extremely important
to obtain Greenland as being described here, okay?
Let's talk about some of the reasons
and why this is important
and why this isn't just something
that came out of nowhere.
This has been a discussion for, yes,
as said here, well over 100 years.
It's been really on the table as of late
because of some of the things
that the president has actually been saying,
but this has been something
that has not been a foreign concept to anybody
by any stretch of the imagination for quite some time, okay?
Let's talk about why this is so important.
Number one, there is a strategic military position
that we have to talk about here.
Greenland sits between North America
and Europe in the Arctic, okay?
It hosts Thule Air Base, which, by the way,
for those of you that might not know,
this is a really critical U.S. air base
that deals with missile warnings
and space surveillance, okay?
It's like perfectly primed for that area.
Controller influence over Greenland
strengthens early warning against Russian missiles
and protects the U.S. homeland,
and that base says everything to us.
So possession of it, or at least security of it,
is super, super important, okay?
The other thing is it creates dominance
when ice begins to melt.
So as Arctic ice begins to recede,
which it goes through stages of doing so,
new shipping lanes will eventually open,
and military access is going to increase as a result.
President Trump literally views Greenland
as a cornerstone for securing U.S. influence in the Arctic
before rivals come to dominate it,
and they will if this opening happens.
The other purpose that this has
is it blocks China's expansion,
and that's a big deal.
Why?
Because China has openly pursued infrastructure
and mining projects in Greenland
under its Belt and Road Strategy.
We've already been seeing it.
It's been very, very obvious.
It's been in front of our face.
The president sees this as a national security threat, folks,
and he wants to prevent China
from gaining a foothold so close to North America.
This was partially why Venezuela happened
the way that it did.
We cannot discount it.
And by the way, this is the same issue for Russia.
It contains Russia's power over the United States.
Why?
Because Russia has heavily militarized in the Arctic.
It's reopened bases and expanded its navy.
Greenland helps the U.S. monitor and counter
Russian movements across the Arctic and the North Atlantic.
It helps very much.
If Greenland is not at our disposal,
if we don't have it,
then we lose the ability to be able to contain
what's going on in Russia,
specifically with their naval fleet.
And that's kind of a critical area.
There's also an argument
that it's got critical natural resources.
I'm not so sure that's as big of a deal,
even though it is really important
because it does have rare earth minerals,
you know, uranium, oil, gas, fresh water.
All these things are all there
and they all are there in,
from what I understand, huge amounts.
So I guess that the president is also looking at this
somewhat from an economics perspective,
which is something that you absolutely cannot fault him for.
The other thing is,
there has been a longstanding U.S. interest in all of this.
This is not just some novelty.
As a matter of fact, in 1947 under Truman,
you know what, maybe 1946,
I want to say either 45, 46 or 47, I'm not quite sure.
This is something that was pursued
pretty actively by Truman.
So Trump's interest fits a historical pattern
of this type of strategic expansion
and not just some off the wall,
you know, crazy sudden or eccentric idea.
This is something that Trump is doing
based on what precedent has existed in the past
and I think it's pretty important to understand that.
The other thing is,
there's an element of defensive realism here.
This isn't some function of some imperialistic act.
This is the president actually realistically examining this
from the perspective of defending the interests
of the United States.
He frames Greenland, not as some colonization,
but as a preemptive security mechanism, right?
He has this logic that says
if the U.S. does not increase its influence there,
then Russia, of course, will and so will China.
By the way, this logic isn't something
that is just carried into Greenland.
This logic is carried into the heavy emphasis
he's been placing on AI,
the movement with respect to how we're handling
digital currency, all that drives it in his mind.
If we don't do it, if we don't master it,
if we don't get good at it, guess what?
China's coming for it,
and that's gonna be a bigger problem,
and that's the issue that the president is thinking about.
He's thinking about it on a whole bunch of levels.
That happens to be one of them.
And finally, this one is really important,
and that's the fact that just simple geography matters.
Okay, so despite all the cyber warfare,
the satellites, the physical territory
that we're talking about here
still determines power projection.
It does.
If he doesn't have possession of it,
if the United States doesn't have possession of it,
they lose that sort of missile defense logistic
that they've always had,
and Greenland's location literally makes it irreplaceable.
It's a location that everybody wants
because it's prime territory for a lot of reasons,
and this is why the European Union
is doing exactly what they're doing.
Now, you may have heard me say this in the intro
because there's a lot of people
that have been talking about this,
and I think it's absolutely true,
but let's think about this.
This is super important, right?
We are looking at,
because the Bible says it would happen,
we know we're going to see a revived Roman Empire,
and I think this headline shows us the fact
that we are actually looking at the very beginning of it,
and in order for us to be able to understand it,
we have to recognize how the Roman Empire originally rose,
like what exactly happened, okay?
It rose through five very simple dynamics
that you can very easily point to.
Number one, there was crisis in Rome,
ancient Rome, that created unity, okay?
Rome expanded power during moments of instability.
There was external pressure,
trade disputes, military threats,
political chaos forced independent regions to cooperate,
and over time, cooperation became dependency.
The second thing is Rome formed
over the promise of economic leverage,
and that actually was powerful enough to replace conquest,
so Rome didn't always conquer with swords.
It wasn't something that they always did.
Believe it or not, folks, it used trade access,
it used taxation systems, it used economic incentives.
All of those types of things were used
because the idea here is if you can control the economy,
you can control behavior without firing a shot,
which, by the way, is no coincidence
when we read in Revelation chapter six
that the Antichrist will have a bow,
but he won't have an arrow.
Of course, we're looking at a world
that's going to be controlled that way.
The third thing that they did was they established,
they developed central authority,
and that strengthened very, very quietly.
They literally went out of their way
to quietly increase that power.
It didn't shift overnight.
Emergency powers were granted temporarily,
then they were normalized.
That's the way it worked.
Decision-making slowly moved away from local leaders
towards a central ruling structure,
and we know that's what happened with Rome initially, right?
That's exactly what happened when they first started.
The other thing is the law became the binding force,
and it was a big deal.
Rome unified diverse people under a single legal framework.
That's why you could have people
from all different walks of life
that still remained unified
because Roman law unified them.
You could be different culturally,
but Rome's law governed you.
So what this basically allowed Rome to do
is they ruled without constant military occupation
because the law actually governed that function,
and they were scared of any type of retribution
if, for whatever reason,
they decided to rebel against that mechanism.
So very, very important thing.
The fifth thing is that Rome presented itself
as peace and stability, okay?
Folks, the Pax Romana was sold
as peace, order, and prosperity.
That was the whole idea.
People welcomed Roman authority
because it promised safety, economic growth,
and predictability,
and then, of course, they added to that,
we'll give you entertainment,
we'll give you security,
we'll give you food,
you know, that kind of a thing,
and that's sort of what made that happen
the way that it did.
And so Europe today is rising in the same way again.
I mean, take a look at what's going on.
Crisis is again becoming the catalyst.
Look at the trade disputes, energy shortages,
war on European borders, immigration pressure.
Look at all the things that are going on,
the geopolitical clashes with the United States.
Think about the European nations
as these clashes are happening.
It's forcing them to respond together.
Every single crisis is beginning to strengthen
centralized coordination.
Look at what else is happening.
Economic power is becoming the primary weapon.
The EU doesn't lead with armies.
It leads with tariffs and sanctions
and regulatory pressure and access to markets.
This mirrors Rome's use of economic dominance
as I mentioned before.
It was used to compel people to action.
Rome did it when it started.
Rome is doing it now as it's beginning to form.
Again, same thing, emergency authority.
That was a tool that the Romans used.
It's happening right now.
All of their emergency authority keeps expanding.
They expanded it when Brexit happened.
They expanded it when you begin to see
some of the things go on because of the coronavirus
and it continues to expand as we see all of these happen.
All of these powers granted to EU institutions
during crisis increasingly become permanent mechanisms.
It's the truth.
It's exactly what's happening.
All kinds of shifts are being taken away
from all of these individual nations
and moving in the direction of Brussels
and nobody should be surprised with this
because that's exactly how Rome
centralized authority over time.
Also, guys, remember this.
In the EU, the law is becoming the unified glue
just like in Rome.
EU law supersedes national law in many areas.
Folks, it's very true.
That really does happen.
This is critical.
Rome ruled through legal supremacy.
You guys need to understand this.
The EU is doing the same.
Different languages, cultures, governments exist
but one legal framework governs them all
and that's what's happening in the EU.
Peace and stability.
Here's the other thing.
Peace and stability are becoming the selling points.
We're watching it happen right now.
The language that we see here within the EU
is identical in function to the Pax Romana narrative
that I've been talking about.
It's crazy, guys, but that's exactly what's happening.
And by the way, most important, this matters prophetically
because the Bible never says that Rome disappears forever.
We don't see it anywhere.
It presents Rome as a system that revives, reforms,
and reappears in this final expansion.
Daniel describes a final kingdom
that is not only connected to Rome.
How is it connected to Rome?
The metal that you see in the statue
that represents the legs in the statue in Daniel is Rome
and it connects to the coming empire
that are the iron mixed with clay in the feet.
It's connected to Rome.
It's divided yet unified.
It's strong and brittle at the same time,
iron mixed with clay,
and it's rooted in complete political and economic power,
not just military force.
Guys, Revelation does the same thing.
Revelation presents this to us in very much the same way.
Guys, what you are actually seeing
is you are seeing ancient Rome returning.
That's what you're seeing.
It's happening, and it's important to understand
that the key here is to recognize
that it's the same playbook.
It's the same consolidation process,
the same promises of peace that are being made,
the same trade leverage, the same center of authority.
It's growing rapidly.
The only difference here is the century, okay?
It's super important to recognize that.
The Roman empire is not returning by conquest.
It's returning by coordination,
and that is exactly how Rome rose the first time.
So when we see all of this, when we see these stories,
when we see these things beginning to come together,
it should raise an eyebrow or two.
It should cause us to recognize exactly
that what we're seeing is a fulfillment
of what the Bible says is coming,
and it should wake us up.
Why?
Because these things should become motivating tools
to teach us to get out there
and to literally stand up for biblical principles
to fight the evil that we're seeing in our midst,
not only in these personal arenas
that we seek to minister to people in,
but in these arenas that relate to the political world.
We're called to be a light everywhere.
Folks, that's what I mean when I say
to get out there and fight the good fight.
The good fight is to be fought
based on the biblical worldview,
to do that which God has called us to do
without reluctance, with boldness,
and with faith and trust in God
that He is capable of bringing to fruition
the very things that He promises He will.
That's what I mean when I say it.
So it's time to look to the Lord,
seek Him, study His word,
get out there and fight the good fight.
