In a new tale from the ton, eternal bachelor Benedict Bridgerton finally meets his match: a captivating lady's maid in disguise at a masquerade ball.
Coming back for season four...
And action.
It's so exciting.
We get to explore the romance of Benedict and Sophie.
I think the most exciting part about this season
is telling a new type of love story.
It always feels like you come back
with a slightly different spin.
This season, we get to explore
that upstairs, downstairs element.
In that world, we're introduced to Sophie.
Everyone, this is Sophie.
My name is Yeren Ha
and I play Sophie Peck in Bridgerton season four.
We saw Yeren really late into the process, actually.
But we knew that she was Sophie
the moment we saw her tape.
I think in the book,
Sophie has quite a sassiness to her.
You are not serious.
But there is also this vulnerable side
and this fragility
and I think I was just most excited
to expand on bringing that personality to life.
She was raised as a noble young lady.
Just delightful to meet you.
But after her father dies,
she is forced into being a maid.
You forget yourself and your place.
Even though she's a maid,
she sneaks off to go to a masquerade ball one night
and meets Benedict Bridgerton
and ever since that night,
her life kind of changes
and goes on for quite a journey.
You are perhaps the most intriguing person I've ever met.
This particular storyline
has an element of fairy tale about it.
It does sort of make you a bit like a little kid again.
It cribs off of a Cinderella story a little bit.
Wait!
And Benedict very much represents fantasy.
They sort of meet three times really.
Mr. Bridgerton.
Which is what makes this story distinct.
We wanted to create this sense
that these two were always going to be drawn back together.
It's steamy but so beautiful
and it really is the perfect mingling of fantasy and reality.
