Winter storm inching closer to East Coast; slight changes to snow map

A massive winter storm is getting closer to the East Coast, threatening to bring the heaviest snow the Philadelphia region has seen in years.

A Winter Storm Warning has now been posted for our entire area from Saturday evening into Monday. The heaviest snow is expected to fall Sunday morning, with impacts carrying into Monday.

The latest trend shows a stronger push of warm air aloft. That means more mixing farther north. So, that snowy winter wonderland Sunday morning turns into a sleet/icefest for most of our area by lunchtime.
