The Mavericks defeated the Warriors, 123-115 tonight in Dallas. Naji Marshall contributed a team-high 30 points to go with 9 assists 7 rebounds and 2 three pointers, with Cooper Flagg of the Mavericks adding an additional 21 points (8-18 FG, 1-5 3P) and 11 rebounds in the game. Stephen Curry finished with a team-high 38 points along with 8 three pointers for the Warriors in the losing effort. The Mavericks improve their record to 19-26 with the win, while the Warriors fall to 25-21 for the season.
Taylor it's game night here on Prime from Dallas. We welcome you American Airline Center. This is
the calm before the storm. They are expecting some serious weather tomorrow afternoon, but people are
lined up to see this man play. Steph Curry, one of the superstars of the game against one of the
young stars in the NBA, Cooper Flagg. Three meetings, Warriors won the first on Christmas over Dallas.
And the Mavs control the tip. Bounces off a discard there as Santos hit the deck.
Green runs the floor, challenges Flagg but couldn't finish. And it's cleared by Powell.
Flagg went ahead of Steele all the way, hangs and hits. It's one. And it bounces off of Curry,
turnover. Five on four developing. Marshall challenging Santos and he flips it up and in.
Four nothing lead for Dallas. Switch, Flagg now has green.
So Curry off the ball, but Jemski handles it. Curry, clean look. Bottom.
Some way to get on the court. Yeah, just give it to him. Yeah, get Steph.
Waiting to create a shooting window. And again, he scores inside the paint.
Oh, really deep for Steph Curry. Unlimited range. Curry is three of three from downtown.
We're tied at nine. Warrior team is eight and 13 on the road. They cleaned up at home.
The fake and the flip is in the lineup. Rhythm shop is good. Golden State got the win 86 to 79.
Joe Barry Carroll led the way with 21 points and 13 for the Warriors. Had a DNP coach's decision,
16 straight games. The touch and the foul for Kaminga. A trade demand and there needs to be
demand. Yeah, when you give it that kind of context the way Mike was approaching it as
Kaminga gets another bucket. By all accounts, Kaminga's handled it like a pro. Thompson misses
on a three ball. Washington flies in for the board and he banks it in. Thompson's really shot
it well recently, but he turns it over. Nice defense there from the Warriors. Richard bounces
three on one, developing the extension by Melton and he gets the run. A little bit of body English
to make sure it went through. Williams takes mode and he lays it in. Pedal to the metal.
Got his body in there for the rebound. A minute and a half to play in the first quarter.
Horford steps into the three. Put it on the board. And this is huge. This is what Steve was talking
to us about. The floor. Swing it. Podziemski. Hard drive. Nice fake. He ducks in for two.
So many players going to that Pinoy step where they slow down on that last step. Completely
legal. Defense not able to catch up. Beautiful move by Potts. Robinson-Thurl is in the game
for Dallas. Washington knocks in a triple. It's the first time Napkins were optimistic.
Well, we appreciate the folks from Wingstop. It was such a blast. You got some sauce. Still?
Yeah, still. You got a little something. Let's focus on the game. Right there.
Started the second quarter. Green couldn't grab it. Nembhard does and Thompson gets a
clean look at a tray. Feet set. Such a quick release from Clay Thompson. How many times have
we seen that? Turnover. Nembhard. Oh, getting physical with heel. And the scoop to the hoop
goes for Ryan Nembhard. Curry is up. Thompson turns. Listening. Slow down. Going to the top.
It hit the three. Green keeps it alive. And it's grabbed by Thompson. Ahead. Christie turns. It's
flag on the follow. Flag. Left-handed pass to the Thompson. Mavericks. Corners made.
Golden State is getting crushed on the offensive glass. Curry gets to the cuff. And Kaminga
using his strength and size. Kick it out. Moody keeps the ball moving. Melton splashing to the
rim. And that was crafty. Really good hesitation. Could not spin it in. On his horse. Pajewski.
Lob it up. Slob it down. High flyer. And this time Melton comes away with it. Looked like it
could have been another offensive rebound for Dallas. Melton crosses. Drives into Washington
and scores. Hard drive. The speed of Brandon Williams. He is so confident going to the hoop.
Arizona has dealt with injuries. It's been a great story. Moody. Catch and shoot. Bottom. A three.
But it's tracked down by Washington. Golden State finally. Nobody there. I'll see you in
the finals. Yep. He's had 14 guys that have averaged more than a quarter's worth of minutes
that have played for him this year. Now Dallas with a chance to regain the lead. Flag. Off the
hesitation. He just makes it look so easy. Touch that it became a huge issue. We decided not to
in the second quarter. Marshall. Kick. Corner. Christie. Full time. Great job by Dwight Powell
just holding off that screen on the box to give Christie a foot more space to let that three go.
And that ends a 12-0 run as Santos laces a three. Under a minute to play now. Both teams have made
six field goals from the three-point line and we mentioned I think Jason Kidd would be fine with
that. To the 10. They've got seven seconds to work with. Williams with five. Williams splits
defenders and he puts it in. Anthony, Dallas won the points in the paint battle and second chance
points. What do you guys want to clean up here in the second half? Man, we want to wall up. Like you
said, they get into the paint a little too easily. A team like this, you know, they really prioritize
getting to the paint and getting layups. So we just got to wall up, be a little bit more physical
and stop them from getting down there. Thanks for your time. 35-21 by Dallas. Koziemski, first
possession of the second half. Kick it out for Moody. And a teardrop goes from Moses Moody.
Potentially being heard and what that means. They get it in for Santos who lays it home and has cut
the Dallas lead to one. Kuminga finally getting a chance to play. He's been waiting for his
opportunity. Knee trouble is going to keep him out for the rest of the night. Another turnover.
Podziemski going upstairs for the flush. I got it. See? Yeah, got it. Put it on the board for Curry.
Pick your band. Marshall gets it in. Flag rises up. Dallas goes back in front. Podziemski
gets two. Skipping. Podziemski aggressive. Moody's open. The three ball. He cans it. Timeout.
Golden State got it done against Dallas in five games. Marshall. You thought you were going to
get a shot for. That's not a great adjustment by Nigey Marshall. Oh, the cut by Curry and the
chemistry with Green. It feels like it's a step on the cut. They are seven of nine from the field
in the third quarter. Williams draws a lot of attention, but Christie can't make a pay.
Rebound knocked around. It's a loose ball foul against the Warriors. Going to stay right here.
It'll be Moody.
Dallas will have 14 seconds to work with. Mavericks are 13 and 11 here at home.
Mavericks are 13 and 11 here at home. Powell all the way for two.
Draymond was trying to communicate the screen away, looking for the pin down on the weak side,
and Powell said, well, look, if you're not going to pay attention to me, pay attention to this.
Went in there and got the score. Green returns the favor on the hard drive. Curry screen from Green.
Good find. Payton. Ball gets Carrom to the outside and controlled by Dallas. Bounce.
The flip is good. He has no fear around the back. Green looks to the inside. That pass was errant.
Ends up in the hands of Curry. Payton. Knocked around. Digs it out. Spins. Blocked by Washington.
Behind the back. Take him. Christie. A pull of three. Christie takes it to the rim and gets it to go.
Max Christie is the forgotten man in the Luka Doncic deal. Oh, he'll be a trivia answer at
some point, but this year he's letting people know that his game has expanded. Not only is
he shooting the ball great from three, but a great drive there. What an answer. The guy's
just to make them feel old. He even calls 21-year-old Derrick lively, old guys.
And the lob is converted by Williams. We call Brent on, so we get it. Cooper flags 19 and Jason
wants him to be more aggressive. My son's 19. I'm trying to get him to do his laundry. Different
situation. My son's 20 and he still doesn't do his laundry. Okay, so I think you have made that
pretty clear, what you'd like from your son. Now he knows. 77 to 74. Williams is six of seven
from the field and put another two on the board for Brandon Williams. It's takeover mode right now
for him. 79-74. Curry the answer. Yes, sir. A straightaway tray. 79-77. Mavs under three minutes
to play in the third. Williams bounces, kicks, corner. Oh, splash. GP2 hanging out in the lane
as Steph releases another. Curry got a three. So Dallas retains. Thompson had it knocked away.
Pachebski into the hands of Curry. Whips a pass inside. Horford extra. Melton gets ahead.
Help there by Horford. Williams forced to give it up. Bounces inside. Washington gets it to go.
The ball hit the rim and Horford wrestles it away. Pachebski makes his move.
Around every defender. Pachebski against the world.
Doesn't take the three initially. Music for Buddy Heal. 92-86. Golden State.
Christie. Shake and bake. Horford doesn't bite. Clear it for Nembhard. The young floor general
forced to kick it out for Flagg. Shot clock is winding down. Flagg lines it up and Flagg connects
from long range. Shot clock winding down. Just underway here in the fourth. Flagg the acceleration.
Takes it strong. Can't finish for the left. Ahead. Melton by himself. Doing it all right now for Golden
State. Trying to set the table for Heal. Defended by the smaller Nembhard. Cha-ching from the corner.
They've got their largest lead of the night, Brent. Buddy sides it up that time. Knocks down the three
Right back. Hard drive by Cooper Flagg. End to end. Cooper Flagg denied by Horford.
Looking on the other side of the floor. Now Flagg pops out. Nembhard's jumped him. It's good.
A trade for the rookie Ryan Nembhard. 10-0 run. Curry trying to stop the bleeding. It does.
99-98 Mavs. Flagg against Curry. He attended his camp. Kick it. Extra. Jumper. Marshall.
Great patience by Dallas on that possession. Everybody in the right spot. A quick sweeten
and Marshall with another three. Curry. Count. Cash. Money. Richards from the side. Leaves it.
Marshall. And a foul. Mavericks interaction 12th in the Western Conference. A game and a half out
of the 10th spot. Marshall push shot. Gets the bat. Three layups in this game that Krzyzewski
would certainly like back. Marshall slicing to the rim for two. Steve Kerr needs a timeout.
Curry. A free ball. It's good. Head and shoulder fake. He gets around. Pressure in the backcourt.
Marshall. Contact with Krzyzewski. And Marshall gets all the way for two.
Melton jars it loose. Shot clock down to 10. Washington. The three ball goes for P.J. Washington.
121 to 109. We approach two minutes left. Krzyzewski drive. Kick for Moody.
Melton penetrates and he flips it in. They're losing out on nearly six rebounds and five assists
per game. And a steal and a half. Krzyzewski. Down the middle they need threes. Moody fires.
That will do it. It's a season high four game winning streak for the Dallas Mavericks.
They take care of business in the fourth quarter. To knock off the Warriors. 123 to 115.
