Hey guys, welcome back to my channel today
We have some new makeup that we are going to be testing out
This is mostly drugstore makeup with the exception of one high-end product that I happen to find it at Ross
So I feel like it's kind of drugstore. I cannot wait for this one
I've been dying to get my hands on at least three of these makeup products for a while now
I'm sure that you have heard about them. We're putting them all on my face today
And I have to say you guys this is one of the prettier makeup looks i've done in quite a while
Some of these really impressed me. I can't wait to share it with you guys before we get into all the makeup though
I want to wish any of my new visitors a special welcome. I hope that you enjoy this video today
Please give it a thumbs up
Make sure you're subscribed and that your notifications are turned on with that said we got a lot of makeup to get to so let's
Jump right in. Okay, so we're going to kick things off with just a little bit of primer before we get into the foundation
I'm just going to use this one that I used in my last video. It's from essence called their good stuff glow serum primer
I've been using this for the last it's been almost not quite a week yet
I like it. I don't know that I like it quite as much as I like my
glow recipe
It's not an exact dupe. It's a little bit thicker a little bit stickier, but it is also it's pretty hydrating
Now we're going to jump straight into the plump and glow. So one thing to note I ordered this online
I ended up picking the shade 220 because I have the shade 220 in the skin tint
Which I absolutely love and that actually is a very good shade match for me when I have a little bit of self tanner on
Looks a little bit darker than what I was thinking. The skin tint was I have it right here
I don't know. It's tough to tell i'm going to insert a swatch of these
Side by side for you guys so you can see how the shade of these two compare
Fortunately, I do have some self tanner on I deliberately after seeing this bottle
Put a fresh layer of self tan on this morning in hopes that this would
Match me. It does look a tiny bit dark possibly
But we shall see i'm gonna go ahead and just jump straight in with that's one full pump right there
Like that's kind of a lot for one pump. We'll see though
Oh gosh. Yeah, this is a little bit dark
I don't know. I've heard mixed things about this one some people online
I mean, I haven't I haven't dug in too deep. I haven't watched a ton of videos on this
Foundation and people's thoughts on it, but i've heard some mixed things
As one does with just about everything these days. It's very hydrating
I have a hard time imagining this is going to beat out my super stay skin tint because this is one of my all-time
favorite drugstore foundations if not my number one currently
It's so good it's one of the few foundations that i've repurchased
More than once or twice in the last year or two. Okay. That was one full pump. I'm just about done blending
I don't know that the coverage is quite as good as what I get from the skin
Skin tint this gives me a solid maybe even a strong medium coverage
I'd say this is more of a just under a medium coverage. I don't really call it light coverage though
It's definitely giving me some coverage. It is covering some things just not covering some of the more stubborn spots
And shade match wise it is a little bit on the dark side
i'm going to be able to get away with that today because I do have
Quite a bit of tan self tan on my neck. I don't see how this one builds up
I'm gonna add just a tiny bit more on just some of these
areas where I have some
Sun spots
Just see if it layers up nicely
It's very pretty. It's very glowy looking. Well, i'm going to take a clean sponge and just go around the edges here
This one especially is going to be obvious around my hairline if I
Don't blend it out
So i'm just really kind of removing any of the foundation that gathered up along the hairline
Which is always don't skip this part guys if you wear foundation all over
Always make sure you blend along your hairline your jawline if you need to
Especially if your match is not just spot on let's leave it there for now
We're going to kind of just see how it wears underneath everything else that we're going to be putting on
So we're going to go back to the soft glam concealer, which I just tried out, which I did enjoy
I did pick up a new shade. I felt like I needed one shade lighter to work with
So I have the shade number 21. I also picked up shade 30, which was way too dark for me
I have it in my drawer right now
So I went back and picked up shade 13
So I have something a little lighter to work with if I want to brighten up my under eye
I've worn this now about three or four times and I I can't
Figure out my thoughts on it. I'm hoping that now that I have a lighter shade
I'll be able to use it in the center of my face a little more effectively. So this is shade
What's the new shade? I got 13, which is fair neutral. I want to use this to kind of brighten up my under eye
I'm, just going to use a tiny tiny dot of this. I'm also going to use this on
Oh, actually, no
I'm not going to use this on my eyelid today because I have a shadow stick combo that we're going to be trying out
So let me kind of wipe that off. So that's obviously way too light for me
I'm actually going to add a little bit of shade number 21 right on top of that
And then use shade 21
A couple of spots that I need more coverage
Let me know what you guys thought of this concealer. I like the packaging of it
You don't get a ton of product, but it's pretty affordable
I think this concealer was only about five bucks, which is a really good deal
And it has 0.21 ounces not a ton
Not as much as you get from their camo concealers, but not a bad amount either. I'm going to blend this in with my
brush
as far as coverage
You know, it's been a while since i've used my elf concealers
I wouldn't say they're like my favorite drugstore concealers anymore. But every time I go back and use them again, i'm reminded of
Especially for the value how good they are
So i'm planning to do in the next week an update video for you guys
I know i'm kind of sharing a few updates with you guys
in this video today
But I have a lot of products. I need to update you guys on some of them dating back to
like november so
Keep an eye out for that including the tear tear foundation
We've been on a journey me and that foundation for the last couple of weeks
I have such conflicting feelings about it
Like I feel like I wasn't sure I liked it and then I was kind of really starting to like it
And then I just I had some concerns with it. So we'll address that in my next video, but
Skin looks great. I have to say you guys I mean just for foundation and concealer. This has a nice
Pretty glow to it. It's just a soft kind of natural glow. It doesn't feel super
dewy or
Greasy or anything like that, but it just looks so luminous and healthy so far so good. I have pretty high hopes
I feel like maybelline for the last couple of years has been
Knocking it out of the park when it comes to their lip products their foundations their mascaras
So many good releases from maybelline in the last couple of years. Let's tackle these eyebrows really quickly
I'm not gonna do anything too crazy or fancy. I'm just gonna go with a little bit of my ulta beauty
ash taupe
Just on the underside and the arch
And then we're gonna set that in place with my elf brow. Wow, or wow brow and taupe
Okay moving on to the covergirl products. I'm so excited to try these
I feel like I have seen these on the thumbnail of every beauty content creators videos in the last month or so
I'm finally getting around to my turn. I picked up the bronzer in the shade toasted butterscotch
We're going to start with this one right here. I've heard people compare these to
the hourglass bronzers, which of course made me want to compare how much product you get in them as typically
A drugstore bronzer gives you a little bit less than what you get from a high-end
So let's have a look at my hourglass one. So the hourglass has 0.39 ounces or 11 grams
We get 0.28 ounces or 8 grams
In the cover girl, so a little bit less but not a ton less. That's actually not a bad value
so i'm gonna apply these today with my
Bronzer brush from angie hot and flashy. This is the a507
I'm, just gonna tap this in there
See how this applies on top of this foundation with no powder
I deliberately wanted to not powder this one at all today just to see how it wears on its own
Oh, that's pretty
Very rosy
I love a good rosy color bronzer
That is a beautiful shade. Oh
I'm, totally getting the hourglass comparisons. I've been hearing if you've used an hourglass bronzer
Or even their blushes do this, but you put them on and they have this very
I mean diffused is really the best word to use it. They just
Have such a beautiful blend. I don't know if I like to call it a glow, but it's just this kind of like
Lit from within
super airbrushed almost blended look
That is just stunning and i'm definitely getting this from this right here. That was just literally three taps
and I don't feel like I need to do anything else it's
Done. Do you see that? It's just
super quick
Nice even blended color doesn't sit on top of the skin. It's just something about it like really meshes with your
Products underneath and with your natural skin that makes it look a lot more natural
That's lovely
new favorite I can already tell this is going to be
An instant fave for me for the blush. I went with the shade rose latte
I believe that this was the lightest shade that they offered
I was back and forth between this one and the one below it
Which is a lot more vibrant a lot more kind of coral color
I kind of wish I would have gone with that one, but i'm not going to judge it prematurely. Here's the
Packaging right here. Obviously a very light. It looks like a very nude kind of like cool rose color
We're gonna apply this one with my alter ego 105. I'm just gonna build that up
tip of this brush and cross our fingers
That it shows up on me at all
Okay, that's very pretty
I was worried with this color. I would get almost like a kind of a gray
Gray toned nude
There's a few blushes that i've tried before that have this kind of like nudie shade
That pull a little bit ashy on me and i'm always worried about that because I actually don't
I don't like that in my blush. I don't mind that in my bronzer, but I don't like it in my blush
It seems to have a nice
I don't know a little bit more warmth to it than I thought it was looking at it in the pan beautiful formula
Super blendable if they definitely have the hourglass built to them. I totally agree with those that have said that I think they are very
Pretty luminous quick and easy to blend. I like both of those colors so far
Okay, let's add a little bit of highlighter and jump back over to this elf highlighter in the shade. Prosecco pop
Prosecco poppin this highlighter
So good
I don't know that i've used another highlighter since I first tried this out over a week ago
It is stunning
Makes me want to go back and try the there was a shade lighter than this and then a pink kind of
Rose gold shade below it this shade. I absolutely love very very pretty very kind of an in-your-face sort of highlighter
Let's move on to the eyes. So I do have a product that's not drugstore
However, I did pick this up at my local ross
It was on clearance and I am embarrassed to admit I have I before today had never tried the laura mercier caviar sticks
There was a brief moment in my early youtube channel days where I went on this
Foray into trying out some eyeshadow sticks and I quickly realized most of them
I didn't like because even though they were supposed to be crease resistant
They seemed to always crease on my eyes in the last couple of years though
My eyes are significantly less oily than they used to be years ago as i've gotten older
So i'm hoping that maybe now is a good time to revisit this formula of eyeshadow
I know some people swear by these love them. They're the only things that they use
so when I saw this set which includes a
Dark kind of purpley brown and a rose gold
Shimmer, I think the shades specifically are yeah
Rose gold shimmer is the actual name and dark cocoa matte these two minis were on sale for six dollars at my ross
So I thought okay
I've got to try them. So we're going to do that today
It's been a while since i've even watched anyone really apply these I used to follow you guys remember shelby
I think she's still around on youtube. I don't watch her videos all that much
these days, but there was a while where she was like the
Expert on the laura mercier shadow sticks
I think what i'm gonna do i'm gonna apply the rose gold one first
And then we'll add a little bit of the darker shade to the outer part of the lid
These are super tiny. They're very very cute
Let me know what you guys think. Do you guys use these kind of shadow sticks a lot?
There was a while that I tried them out from several
Brands, I tried some from elf. I tried some from some k-beauty companies
Some other brands that don't even exist anymore at ulta beauty. I just kind of gave up on them because I number one
And here's what i'm already seeing right now
These are the kind of makeup that they give you a little something if you want something that really like stands out
These are very natural looking
And i'm sure it depends on the color that you go with and the finish and that sort of thing
But just from what i'm getting right now, so i'm just drawing this on and tapping it out with my finger
It's pretty it's just not giving me a ton like i'm just getting a tiny bit of a wash of sheen and color
They're not very shimmery. You guys know. I love a good shimmery lid
But if you like a more natural makeup look like you're hardly wearing makeup at all
This might be right up your alley. Okay. Now this one i'm excited to try
i'm gonna draw this just along
The lash line and then kind of up to this outer corner and i'm just going to use my finger
If I remember
Watching shelby apply these she always blended them out with her finger and just seemed like the thing to do. So
Let me know you guys if you use these do you use a finger or do you use a brush?
My nails are kind of long right now. So
Maybe a brush would have been a better
a better tool
that's pretty again pretty soft and natural, but
just a tiny bit more right on the
lash line here
Curious how this sets down if I kind of just draw it and don't blend it out as much
Lightly smudge it and almost like I would my wet and wild
Eyeliner, but i'm going to throw on some mascara. Let's go back to this extensions
telescopic extensionist mascara, which i've been really liking I did mention that this one is not really meant for
super watery eyes
I still haven't tested that claim because I haven't
Had watery eyes more recently I haven't spent really any time outdoors
Baseball season is right around the corner though guys. So
Give me some time and I will have an update on whether this is good
Watery eye
mascara for
Watching spring sports outside. I love what this does for my lashes though. It's just so
It gives them such great definition
Makes them very nice and long and defined
And I also like that it removes so quickly at night. It's a good everyday mascara
Okay, eyes are finished. Everything looks great those
Caviar sticks. They're very basic. I just feel like i'm not getting much
Out of my eyes. I don't know. Honestly, I think it's easier for me to put shadow on that's powder
I feel like I get a little bit more
Out of them a little bit more control, but it might also just be that my makeup style is just a little bit different
I don't dislike them. I just still think
maybe just me and eyeshadow sticks are just not
Not meant to be other than that. Everything looks great you guys my skin looks so
So good today. I'm i'm kind of shocked by how good my skin looks today. I think that foundation
Did a really good job. I'm very impressed. Let's move on to the lips before I get to my final
Analysis, I do have a new lip product. I have a new lipstick
So I am on the hunt recently to pick up and add a few lipsticks to my collection
I have been in this rut of gloss or lip balm on top of just a lip liner and skipping the lipstick altogether
But as I am getting older and i'm getting older looking lips and more vertical lines on my lips
I feel like my lips could benefit from a little bit of something thicker to fill in some of those lines
So i'm trying to kind of venture back into the lipstick world slowly. I picked up this one from l'oreal
I heard emily noel talking about this recently. It's the shade ballerina ballerina shoes from l'oreal
I've actually already tried this one on a few times
I couldn't make it home from the store without throwing this on my lips while I was waiting at the red light
And my thoughts have also kind of been up and down on this one when I first put it on I thought okay
This thing is way too pearly for me. It has too much
shimmer in it
But then it kind of started to grow on me and especially from more of a distant
It looks very pretty on the lips and I was asking myself
so i'll just go ahead and add a little bit of lip liner first while I
continue to talk but
I love a pearly lip gloss
So I wondered well if I like a pearly lip gloss like my buxom or my lawless
Why is it that i'm so put off by a pearly lipstick?
Maybe I judged it a little bit prematurely and it kind of started to grow on me. The color is very beautiful
as i'll show you guys in a second here, so
Let me know if you guys have some drugstore lipsticks that you really love from other brands from even from l'oreal
let me know what you think I should
add to my
Very pathetic collection because right now I only have like 10 or 12 lipsticks total
there's probably a lot that i've missed by the way, this is dangerous dolly from
Buxom great little lip liner. Okay, once that's set down we're gonna add a little bit of the ballerina shoes
It's like a pearly soft barbie pink
So pretty on emily. I don't know like it's a little bit
A little bit much for me. I feel like I have to kind of
Can't over apply it. I'm just gonna throw a little bit of opal
on top of this
And then last but not least let's throw on a bit of setting spray
I'm gonna go back to my tear tear setting spray, which i'm loving
Three is all you need the sprayers
A lot comes out but it's so misty take my bobby pins out and that
Is the completed
Makeup look what do you guys think of this one?
Let me know i'm sure some of you have tried these products because they've been raved about for a while
What do you think of them? Just try this foundation out the shade give you an issue
Did you like the formula the bronzer and blush?
Have you had a hard time getting your hands on these ones as well?
Let me know if you tried a different shade of blush because i'm very curious to maybe pick up the more
Corally shade or the brighter shade that I think there were three or four if you have a recommendation
I am open to hearing it. I love the bronzer. My skin looks so pretty
Today just everything on the skin from the brightening concealer worked out great under my eyes my highlighter the bronzer
Everything looks really nice
And as i'm looking now at my pores definitely seeing a little bit of pore right here
but not a whole lot more than I would just
Really with anything that I use not to the point where i'd be uncomfortable wearing this because I feel like it emphasizes them so much
But just something to keep in mind
If you if that is an issue for you if you have extremely large pores
Anytime you get a blush that has a bit of shimmer in it
It likely is going to be a bit of a challenge
So maybe stay away from the blush if that if that is the case, but I think it looks beautiful
