This is the sub 1000 that has just been finished from Sportec.
So much work and love has gone into this car.
There is so much to talk about.
Too much actually.
So I won't go into everything.
However, I will leave a link below the video to this project on the Sportec website
should you want to read every detail about the car.
Out for a coffee run in what is a very special Porsche 911
or as it's now called the Sportec sub 1000.
So many nice things to touch and play with in here.
Everything has been changed and customized from the ground up.
Let's go for a drive in what is a Sportec.
Have told me this is a race car for the road.
It's not a sporty road going car.
It's a race car that they built for the track and somehow made legal and put number plates on.
It needs lots of revs.
It doesn't want to go slow.
Right now it's in the track setup.
And quite loud in here.
As you're going to find out how much you can actually hear in here.
I don't know.
It's not just the engine of course and the exhaust is the gearbox and everything.
It's a full-blown race car.
That we're gonna go and get some nice coffee in.
So the price on this one currently although I'm not sure it's for sale.
It's for the owner of Sportec is around 370,000 Swiss francs.
So yes quite big money.
However when you get an exchange is quite a special car.
So Sportec are going to offer the sub 1000s.
No two will be alike.
They will never use the same paint on more than one.
So every one will be completely individual.
I have stored it a couple of times over the last couple of days.
So this one currently has 230 horsepower.
350 newton meters of torque.
And of course under 1000 kilograms.
Hence the name sub 1000.
So with a full tank of fuel.
All fluids.
It comes in at 990 kilograms.
Everything's been changed and customized.
They find a donor car.
They strip it down.
Repaint it and then build up the sub 1000 from that.
So bumpers, doors, bonnet, wheel arches.
These are all made from carbon fiber Kevlar.
The dashboard also isn't carbon fiber.
They've tried to keep the weight down as much as possible.
Motorsport fueling system at the front which really looks spectacular.
The car is also 30 millimeters wider.
Each side has a really nice stance on it.
Fully adjustable three-way suspension.
Right now it's set up in a full-blown track setup.
Because they've been testing it on track.
Hence it's a little bit too bumpy and aggressive for the road right now.
So I'm bouncing around more than I would like.
There's just so much going on in here.
All of the different sounds.
The smell of course.
Full stainless steel exhaust system which sounds magnificent.
Let's do a little pull up to speed limit.
Back to the sound.
It really is such a beauty.
Because of these sports camshafts you get this offbeat sound.
That I've talked about in another video.
That had them.
I can't remember which Porsche it was.
But I could listen to this just on repeat for hours.
Need to set less power, more power, different engines.
Otherwise the interior it's a super nice place to be.
Apart from everything feeling nice.
These seats are really comfortable actually.
They fit, well me anyway, very nice to me.
Turning around in cars like this takes a bit of time.
There's reverse.
Obviously no power steering.
And even with the weight being under a thousand kilograms.
Oh nearly stalled it.
You still need a bit of strength.
The more I get to know the car and the more fun it becomes.
Once I really get to grips with the car.
In the end I think you need a good week with a car like this.
To really understand it and learn how to control it.
Really good for practicing heel and toe.
As this is such a noisy bumpy ride.
I'm not sure how enjoyable it is actually for you to watch.
So let's head into Zurich and get some well-needed coffee.
