Hitting The HARDEST Track We Could FIND - Mt. Greenland

Rolling.
Good morning.
We're at the side of the side of the track.
So last night, Charlie did get his axle put back in.
This morning, the boys got the bearing pushed in.
So he's still with us, which is happy days.
We've got three cars and convoys still.
Today we're doing Mount Greenland.
Track that I was told from the get go, we have to do it.
And being with Tim, he's done this a few times.
So he's the man to go with.
And there's a few obstacles up here.
So it's probably the hardest wheeling so far for our truck.
So the highlights, the lockers will be getting a workout
and hopefully the winch as well.
And yeah, it's about a four hour trek up to the top.
There's a hut up there and we'll spend the night camping.
So did I miss anything?
I think that's it.
It's going to be magic.
Epic views, epic weather.
So clouds today.
So we'll be able to see the ocean from the top.
It is cold though.
Oh yeah.
Apparently colder than even when we're in the snow today.
So yeah.
Overnight it's meant to get down to like,
I think negative four or five.
So it's going to be fresh.
How many times has this come out this trip?
Quite a few, but this time it's not because it's broken.
Okay, I'm going to show you something
that you may not know is in here.
I just said, this kit has everything.
It's the tool that is for checking your tyre pressures.
So we'll see what we got.
Bang on 15, look at that.
Woo!
You guys can see behind us, we're at our first obstacle,
which is a massive erosion.
When there's a massive rain, this all just floods out.
But each time trucks have come through,
they've kind of had to pick up at the bank
to get the cars around.
So you definitely roll if you go in there.
I would suggest you jump on that edge, bro,
because that's overhanging a lot.
And I'd rather you go down in the car.
That'll hold a harlot.
Okay, now it is super hard to see on camera,
but on the right there, there is a massive drop off
and it's a very soft erosion sort of material.
So a lot of convoys that come through
have to eat away at the bank on the left-hand side
to ensure their car won't roll off the edge.
All right, we're at the second major obstacle,
which is a massive washout.
Luckily, there is a little chicken track on the side,
which used to be fairly hard,
but it's actually quite simple.
But this, if you're really keen,
you can send your way up here.
It's been recently washed out,
but if you have a look at the ground, look at this.
It's like jelly.
It's like weird ground.
And like the whole ground just like shakes under you.
So you kind of dig in pretty quickly.
So we're not going to attempt that.
We'll just dip out.
That's wild, the exit is.
There's also nothing to winch off up there.
Yeah.
No one's been up in there.
What line would you take?
Bah!
Conor, you got six PSI on your treps
and sliders and scrub bars.
What's your excuse?
Uh, no comment.
I've got a bad wheel bearing.
Okay.
This holds the height of a whole 40, so.
That is wild.
That's like here.
And then that just sticks out at you.
Burnt our car in the bush.
What is it?
It's a Triton.
Oh ----!
Or is that like a Ford Courier?
It's iced up.
Anyway, is this the bog hole section?
Goats!
Ow!
Bah!
All right, so just what I want to be doing
on my Monday morning, bog holes.
But it's the only way to get through the track.
This is not the bogs, that's the bogs.
Oh.
So we've got six lines to choose from,
from bad to worse.
The good news is I'm not going first.
Actually, you're first because you've got treps.
No, he's last,
because he'll dig out the track and **** it.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, well, I don't know.
It's kind of like,
we're seeing a rock and a hard place there.
I reckon this one looks friendly.
Yeah.
We'll give it a send.
We're going to do this one,
because it's in the shade and it will look pretty cool.
Yeah, so there are easy ones,
but we don't want to go with the super easy lines.
So we've picked the medium one,
which has two little puddles starting at the end
and a bit of mud in the middle.
Oh my God.
Harder than we initially thought.
I was just pulling the piss out of your face.
It's going to be so easy and he hasn't even made it.
He can't, he can't bike there.
All right, we've got a first recovery.
So Tim was just trying one of the easy lines to get here.
There was a little bypass, but he's got stuck.
So he's got to winch off me.
The problem with this, there's no trees to pull from.
So he's got a little something we'll show you later
if we get stuck, but pulling off the car is the first option.
Yeah, look, so this wasn't that expected.
We were actually trying to get to the obstacle
and Tim got bogged,
but this goes to show you how slippery it is
as he tugs my car towards him.
We ended up having to pull him backwards to get him out.
Whoa, it smells like cow ----.
That's sick.
Should have straddled it.
All right, guys, so this is a land anchor.
Quite a few of the boys run these
because places like this without trees,
this essentially is a winch point.
So it's an anchor that the more you pull on it,
the more it buries itself into the mud
and then you can pretty much safely pull the car from it.
So we're going to give it a go
because I haven't really seen one of these venues before.
Some guys have been straddling for the sand,
but over here it's for the mud.
Sam, move!
Sam, do you reckon if you go fast enough,
you'll just skate across the ice?
Not quite.
That's what sunk the Titanic.
It's like glass.
This angle here is actually pretty scary.
Like, we don't know how deep it is
in the middle of that bog hole.
So whether he straddles it and it's too much of an angle
is like half the concern.
Oh, my God.
Cannot get the ******* grip in this thing.
Now, this is probably the dirtiest and boggiest section of the track.
Turns out a lot of people actually get to this point
and turn around and don't see what's ahead of it,
but if you could push through this,
it's smooth sailing after that
with some awesome rock crawling and flexing type driving.
It's proper slippery.
So hard to keep your line through there.
Guess what, guys?
These trackies here...
..pretty nice, eh?
Yeah, they're 150 bucks
and they're my only pants that I've got left, so...
I'm ecstatic.
Yay, mud holes.
This is so fun.
Yeah, boy!
He fell in above his head a bit,
but, yeah, feral.
I'm changing my clothes.
All right, so, pretty sure the mud's now done
and now we're going to hit some more technical rocky stuff,
which is kind of what we were hoping for.
We don't like mud.
It's just gross.
So, now we've got some, like, technical rocky, climby stuff.
Leading up to this.
I might just try this.
No-one's ever seen anyone do it like that.
Yeah, it's because if your backdrop's in your roll.
I don't reckon.
Anyway, this is...
There's no name for it. Let's name it.
This is...
It's the rock step.
The rock step.
T-R-S.
This is T-R-S.
The rock step.
So, everyone goes left, where these ruts are.
Ooh, yeah, it's pretty icy.
And once the front's up,
a lot of guys kind of drop in and the nose comes round,
which is a bit sketchy.
Why have I not seen people kind of do it like this?
You sort of drop in.
All right, can you film, Charlie?
Oh, he's gone.
You're not moving, bro.
So, we got out as far as we could and I've tried to reverse
and boat floppy's in.
I can't even go back, so I'm on a rock.
So, I'm going to have to winch forward.
Yeah, you're right, you're right.
We didn't conquer it.
You're up, son.
Oh, my God.
That was sketchy.
Far out.
That was the big thing.
Good?
Yeah, that was spicy.
It actually felt real good.
No.
It didn't feel sketchy as it looked, but I think...
Yeah, you actually watch the footage.
I can honestly say, probably at this point,
I was having the most fun I'd had so far on this New Zealand trip.
This was a super sick track.
Definitely different to the stuff we get home.
Very tight, very rocky, and actually quite overgrown.
So, I was having a ball, even though the heart was getting
absolutely peppered with sticks and pinstripes.
It wasn't phasing me.
I was enjoying myself.
All right, guys, we're pretty much halfway up the track now.
It's actually a fun little track.
I'm enjoying it.
It's definitely the most technical one we've done so far
that this truck can do.
So, this tuck, this car, this truck...
We're calling it truck.
Everyone calls them trucks here, and I'm just getting the lingo.
But, Winch has been out twice, so that's pretty cool.
And we're at about 500 meters elevation,
and this thing goes to about 900.
So, there is a ways to go.
It's a pretty cool flexi bit, too.
So, I don't know why this is here.
It's one of those roads that's just been done for the gold miners.
Pretty weird why it's even like...
It's so thick through here.
You can barely walk.
Just fit a car in.
So, we're definitely going to need to do a little buffer,
you know, to bounce her off.
It turns out I'd already made it up.
It was over.
****, you know how to pick a weird line, eh?
It's all about weird lines, eh?
This thing likes weird lines.
I'm just going to make it work.
So, you've got to try and drive up the bank there.
Just like that.
Guys, just while you watch me drive this absolutely flawless line,
I've got to do a quick shout-out to our gaming partner, N1bet.
Now, they are one of the largest online casinos in the world,
and they do have a discount code for you guys.
So, if you want to jump on there and save a little bit of money,
have a slap on the pokies,
use the link down below to gain access to that.
You'll also get a bunch of extra free spins on sign-up.
I nearly seen your axle just explode.
Bit of pressure on it.
Bro, you went into a hole, and I was like, a heap planted.
It's just going to explode.
Now, make sure to sign up now, guys, and stay tuned,
because in a few weeks, if you're a member and already signed up to these guys,
you will actually go in the draw for an awesome giveaway that these guys are doing.
So, stay tuned for that.
Can I look at it?
Yeah, you can look.
Shall I do it?
Oh, God!
Oh, I hate my employees.
Here's another case of the ---- in the shitter lawn.
I take the ---- off.
Bank some doors?
That's the door.
This is Bob's Hill.
No, that's called Bog Hill,
because you're going to have to put some bog in your doors afterwards.
Just leave it.
So, as per New Zealand, there's not usually names for things.
So, this was the notorious, there's a rock on one side and a rock on the other side,
and your car barely fits the track.
Tim smashed his way through, and then I thought I'd not do that.
All right, guys.
So, our issue here is he's coming up this big hill,
and there's that rock between the cab and, obviously, the rock,
and we don't want to smash a tray on it when he comes around.
There's also this rock here that looks like it wants to eat a guard.
So, we're just trying to pack the track up a bit,
and then we're going to get Charlie to push the rooftop over
to try and transfer some of the weight.
Decided to winch.
Why are we winching, Sammy?
We need to work.
We're trying to get past this rock-in-a-hard-place situation.
So, with the winch, it's kind of there as a,
I don't have to risk skidding and then landing into the rock,
so it's more controlled.
Just let it rub.
Now, this section was probably the kind of tightest, steepest, and shalliest section.
The rocks were so large that when you kind of had a wheel come up on it,
it would spit it out from under you,
but shout-out to Superior Engineering.
All the times that we were bouncing up and down this thing,
the suspension never fully bottomed down to bump stops,
so those shots were working wonders.
All right, Charlie the madman is deciding the bonus line,
which is actually the chicken track,
but the entrance into it is way harder than anything we've done.
I don't know, it's like it cuts off there and it wants to roll.
Yeah, it's on a huge angle.
Oh, well, at least it looks pretty.
So, Charlie was super proud of himself here.
It was pretty much the only car that could take this little bonus line.
The start of it was pretty hectic, but once he was up that,
it was quite an easy drive.
Now, the rest of the track was ahead of us.
We just bombed the rest of it out to the heart,
so there's a few little shots of that,
and we pretty much arrived at our final destination.
We made it.
That was a hectic track.
Yeah, that was so full on.
Okay, sorry.
Let me just do this all again.
All right, guys, we've made it at the hut.
It was a really hard and long track.
My legs are burning from running the whole hill.
Sam's exhausted from having to steer the whole thing.
That was pretty full on.
That was quite hard.
We've ended up tracking now like down the mountain,
like 300 meters of elevation to find this hut.
Now, this hut's pretty cool.
It's got a little battery system.
Yeah, it's got a light.
It must have an EcoFlow Delta Max in here,
powering the whole shebangle.
And then you come in here, it's got like the fire pit,
and it's got like the makeshift hot water system too.
Yeah, so you light the fireplace,
and there's brass hoses that run up to a tank for hot water.
And look, there's like even salt and sugar and stuff up here.
Like in Australia, that would have been gone.
Are these light?
Lucky these are light bars.
In Australia, if they were bulbs,
somebody definitely would have stolen them and smoked them out.
Yeah, it's just like an honesty system.
Like full lighting.
Yeah, like if you left the power on, it would destroy the whole thing.
But we're camping tonight because it's a bit small in there for us,
and the mattresses are a bit moldy.
New Zealand does have hard wheeling, all right?
So, knew it was out there.
Now we've done it.
If I would compare that track to anything difficulty-wise,
I'd say back before Keegan got Little and Big Red dozed,
it's probably that sort of difficulty.
There was a fair bit of winching there.
Luxy's twin locked and it struggled,
so we definitely did our hard wheeling.
Rare sight seeing you cook dinner.
You must be hungry.
We haven't had food since breakfast.
I literally cooked the tacos the other night.
Are you off your head?
All righty, guys.
We finally made it.
And this actually is a sad end to the NZ series for this time around.
We are coming back later in the year.
But big shout-out to everyone that showed us around,
especially Tim and Charlie.
Charlie's helped us with like storing the truck while we're gone.
Tim's given me so much information about what tracks to do and stuff.
So we finally made it here.
Sunset's amazing.
We've had snow.
We've had hard wheeling.
We've had touring.
We've had a bit of everything.
So comment down below what you guys want to see
because we have one more trip over here
before we have to ship the car back to Australia.
So stay tuned for that and let us know in the comments what you think.
Now I just stand here awkwardly and say,
thanks for watching.
NZ's a beautiful place.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks for having us.
We'll definitely be back.
Guys, I hope you've enjoyed this series.
It's been an absolutely epic adventure
and one of the dreams I've had for a long time
to ship a car that I've built in Australia
over to another country and do a bunch of traveling.
We managed to fly ourselves over there three or four times
while the car was there,
made the most of it,
met a bunch of new faces,
saw a bunch of new places.
So it was an awesome, awesome experience.
Now comment down below.
I think what I'm going to do is a little round-up video
where we go through all the costs involved
of shipping your car over.
I know we've had a lot of questions about that,
of what it costs to ship it,
what I had to do to organize that sort of stuff
when it comes to license, insurance, registration,
all that good stuff.
So let me know if you want to see a video on that
and I'll let you guys know if it's worth doing or not.
But for us, this kind of brings it to the end of the series.
There may be one more sneaky trip
as we head over to the expo in September
and then the car gets shipped back to us.
Tell you what,
dead keen to get the highlights back in Australia.
I just want to tape the thing up to Cape York.
Let's go.
Thanks for watching.
Subscribe.
We'll see you guys next time.
