Former Special Counsel Jack Smith is testifying before Congress today.

This will be the first time that Smith gets a chance to publicly defend before the House Judiciary Committee his criminal cases against President Donald Trump, both of which were dismissed.

Smith was responsible for two of the four cases against Trump during his second run for the White House, one in Florida, accusing him of illegally retaining classified documents, and the other accusing him of trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election illegally.

A federal judge dismissed the first, and the second was dropped after the Supreme Court found Trump had presidential immunity.
