Planning a trip to Japan but confused by the paperwork? Stop. Most travelers waste hours at immigration because they fill out their visit japan web form incorrectly or they do not fill out at all. Hello everyone this is Ahmed Dan. In today's video I'm going to show you the exact step-by-step way to set up your arrival and trip details using real data so you can skip the lines and get straight to the exploring Tokyo. So no confusion no mistakes just the fastest way into Japan. Let's dive in. So the first thing you're going to do open google.com or your local google and type in Japan arrival card online. So search for that and you're going to see a few links. Now be very careful here do not go to any site which is asking for money or anything. You need to go to official Japan government website and you can easily identify that by looking at the url. For example if you take a look here you can see that .go.jp so it tells you that this is a secure for example here you can see that HTTPS so this is secure Japanese government official website and here you can see that visit Japan web digital agency services. So if you click here then it's going to take you to a page like this and here you can see that this is a service that allows you to perform arrival procedures. So this is the form or page you're going to be needing. So you have to click here start using this service now and that will take you to the form which you need to fill up. So let's click here now what happens here you can see that it's asking you to log in. So if you do not have an account yet so you have to click here to create an account otherwise you're not going to be able to fill out this form. So what I did I already created an account just to show you guys and I'm going to take you to that page right now. So this is the page which has my login address and stuff. So I'm just click here and you can see that it took me right there because I already signed in using my email which is like you know mock email and my password. So this is I use mainly for tutorial purposes this is not my like real real email. So let's go here and the first thing it's telling you to register your details. So here information of after entering Japan so you can like you know go through this but let's start with your details. Now another thing to mention that this is not mandatory. So still in Japan you can use a paper form or paper arrival card. However I do not recommend that because this is going to take you a lot longer at the immigration and the airport when you arrive Japan. So it's always better to fill up this form before. Okay so let's start here. Do we have a passport issued by the Japanese government? So basically this is here asking that if you're a Japanese citizen or not. So we are going to click no and do you live in Japan and will enter Japan with a special re-entry permission. So for most of you this is going to be no because most likely you're going to be a visitor or tourist going to Japan for the first time. So we're going to click no. Now check how to use tax-free procedures. Will you use tax-free QR code? To use a tax-free QR code you must register the photo of your face in your passport. You can change this option later on. Now I do not know what is the tax-free QR code. So let's click here and we're going to click quickly read on it. So when purchasing tax-free items instead of showing your passport or other required document this QR code can be showed provide retail details of the store of the purchases. Okay this is not replacement of the passport. Okay so basically this is for tax free purchases. So I'm going to just like you know skip that. We don't want to make things too complicated. So I'm just going to click here no. But if you decide to buy things then you can just choose yes and follow the steps. So now we are going to click on next. Now here you have to enter your passport details. So there are options which is you can enter or scan with your camera or you can enter information yourself. Now for this tutorial purposes I cannot scan with your camera then you're not gonna like you know see what actually I'm doing. So I'm just going to do it manually. So I'm going to click here enter information yourself. Please have your passport ready to scan it with the camera. Okay so go to next. Now here it's asking the passport number and name and stuff. Okay so what happens I use a kind of like you know dummy name which is not real name for tutorial purposes. And also I'm going to be using it like you know dummy passport number. So let's enter Canada. So I'll just put CA1234 and surname. So this is my kind of like a tutorial name which is a dummy name Adam Bondan. This is not real name so I'm just going to put here but my real name is Amit Don but I'm not going to put it here. So nationality or citizenship I'm going to put in Canada and date of birth. I do have a passport mock copy for tutorial purposes so I'm just going to quickly take a look if I have a date of birth on it. So okay so I do have 1990 January 1st. Okay so that's what I'm going to put in and let's go back to our page and here I'm going to see 1900 which is going to be right here and I think I saw January 1st if I'm not mistaken. Okay date of birth unknown not necessary date of expiration date. So this is your passport expiration date and again I'm going to take a look at here my tutorial passport which is January 15 2033. So you're going to put your real passport real name everything real. The reason I'm using this dummy number just for the video purposes so when you're doing it you're going to have to enter everything real otherwise there you'll be in trouble or there'll be delay at the airport. Now but okay I'm going to x this one so January 15 2033. Okay so here we're going to be putting in 2033 and January 15. That's our expiration date of the passport. Proof of face. Okay use a tax free QR code you must register the photo face photos please scan. Okay okay so if you are using the tax free QR code you need to scan your photo. For us I don't think we're going to be needing that so I'm just going to go to the next section and here it says basic information. Okay registration makes entry easier in subsequent procedures. Okay so occupation. So what's your occupation you're going to choose here the most relevant one. If you do not see your occupation here just choose other. Let me see if I can find something here. I don't think I can see anything relevant so I'm just going to put other home address. So here I'm going to put let's say like you know a mock address or my passport should have an address. Let me check. Okay I don't see any address here. Okay so I'm just going to put in let's say 15 go straight and city name is going to be Tuana and next. Okay so here confirm entered details. Okay do you have a passport issued by the government? No. Do you live in Japan? No. Check how to use tax free process? No. Okay so passport number name date of birth everything looks like we put in occupation other go straight. Okay so far so good. So I'm just going to hit here register and let's see what happens. Now check whether or not you need a visa. Apply for a visa. Okay now this step I don't have to really check because you know Canadian passport I don't think I need visa but if you are doing this from other parts of the world so it's always a good idea to double check whether you're going to be needing a visa or not. So I'm just going to click here. Now do you have a visa to enter Japan? No. Check whether or not you need a visa to enter Japan. Check your visa requirements following the following site. Okay so it's just going to take you government of Japan website and you're going to I think see here that you know if you need a visa or not. So I clicked on visa exam countries and let's see if we have if we have Canada here so you can see that Canada we don't need visa. So just to show you this is how you're going to find out. So now back to home. Okay family members details who are traveling with you. So if you have you know family members or anyone traveling with you then here you're going to click and do the same thing and register planned entry return. Okay so here you're going to enter your entry date and all the information so you're going to click here. Okay so visa detail copy details from the visa application proceed to registration without copy. Okay copy entry. Okay here I think if I click this then it's going to just take all the information I entered but if I click this then I'm not sure if it's going to take that information but I'm just going to click here to see what happens because I really didn't apply for a visa so most likely this is the step so I'm just going to hit next. Okay so yeah so that's the right thing to click. Trip name adding a trip name to your planned return. So this is just a kind of a name it's nothing you know fancy or nothing important so you're just going to name it like let's say my Japan trip 2026 or you can just name anything or it doesn't actually have more space so you can just say like Japan 2026. Arrival date let's click on it and see what we can do. So here arrival date and today is 14th which is January 14th so I'm going to assume that I'm going to arrive after a couple of days so I'm just going to enter here okay January 16th. Now airline company name this is going to be Air Canada or your airline so I'm just going to see if it shows up here Air Canada. Okay it's not getting anything so I'm just going to see if there's Air Canada here. Air Asia, Air Canada, Air France right here Air Canada so you're going to just find your flight information or flight name there flight number I'm going to enter here like you know CA actually let's put in AC let's put in like oh actually it says I have saved information so I'm just going to put in here and then point of re-embarkation so I think it is picking up from the other form or what we already filled up if it doesn't pick up then you can just put your flight information like this so I'm just going to enter here let's say 123 and see what happens here so the point of embarkation is going to be the last city before arriving Japan so let's say you're flying from Toronto to Kuala Lumpur to Japan you're not going to put in Toronto here you're going to put in Kuala Lumpur so basically that's what it is so I'm just going to put K-U-L and right here now hit next okay so address in Japan so this is very important you're going to have to need a hotel address where you're going to be staying without that you cannot fill up this form so I do have a hotel address and let's see if it works so postal code is going to be this one I'll copy and paste without the hyphen okay and then enter automatically using posting postal code let me see if this works okay no I think it's not working so I'll just you know type in manually somehow that option is not working so here prefecture so this word here I have here Tokyo this could be like in a province or district so here this is going to be where you're going to so it's going to be Tokyo and okay let's see so there's here city is going to be again I believe Tokyo or if I don't see any city and let me check what my card has okay so this is the city of your address so you have to like you know these should be on your hotel's website or wherever you're staying so you have to need you need to know this before fill up this one so I'm just going to copy this and paste looks like working hotel name what is the hotel name hotel this one and you're going to be entering your real hotel name contact phone number okay so here you're going to be entering a contact phone number so you can hotel like you know you can enter your hotel contact phone number and confirm entered details okay postal code address in Japan okay so looks like the postal code is giving trouble what is that postal code enter 736 okay so I'm just going to click check how many digits oh I think 160 0 0 2 3 160 0 0 okay I missed a 3 now let's see okay so it took it uh you know accidentally I missed 1 0 from here that well that's why this is valid this information is valid uh however you have to enter your own information do not just copy from here so looks like we have everything entered and I'm going to just quickly go through it if like you we are missing anything trip name plan date of arrival and this and this okay so register plan register plan city enter to entry return procedure I found out that it is not completed yet but however I find the website is not kind of user friendly it didn't mention that it's not done so what we have to do again let's click on the our trip Japan trip 2026 and now you can see that there's more other information you need to fill up so this is a little bit confused you know confusing because it didn't warn me at that moment that you know this is not done yet so still we need to fill up this and I'm going to click here do you feel any abnormality or any physical condition no and back to entry and then here you can see that immigration clears and customs declaration so let's click here and link visa optional okay so let's click here once the necessary function register electronic declaration can be used for immigration and okay so click next occupation required so I can just put in other and we already filled this up you're not connecting if you're not connecting multiple flights last flight you already put in Kuala Lumpur and next so postal code we already put in and everything is here next okay so purpose of visit now here I can see that you know how many pages we have to go so that's where uh like you know this looks like it's going to really work now so immigration information to Japan purpose of visit so for most of it is going to be tourism intended length so here I can just put in like you know let's say 12 days and next so have you ever been deported from Japan no have you found guilty no do you present any uh this is like if you're carrying illegal substances no and next so you can see these pages are much faster so we are already kind of halfway through are you bringing the following to Japan prohibited items no so you can go through these and if you have anything from here put yes but hopefully you don't have anything so you can just keep clicking no and same thing here next okay so gold bullion or gold no okay purchase souvenir duty free allow so here you can go through these if you have something from duty free but I'm going to enter no commercial goods or samples no no no can you cash checks exceeding the amount of this much no next okay so this is the last pages so everything looks like done and I'm going to just go through these quickly okay and registers I think this is the final registration okay so now the QR code can be used example of electric is crucial code and accepted however okay back to entry return procedure okay so looks like we are all done and I should be getting an email because this time we already completed and you can see that it's registered but I don't see any email yet I'm just going to quickly refresh my page and sometimes it takes a while so there is no like you know email yet and I'm going to put in let's go back so what you can do you can just enter display your QR code here and take a screenshot so like this agree and display the QR code confirm of the contents of the declaration agree and display okay so this is your QR code and what you can do you can just take a screenshot and email it to yourself which I'm not going to do it if you do not receive anything in the email and let's go back and I think that's all we have here so the process was not that complicated except I found it a little bit confusing in the middle because it didn't really tell me that I had to do more so you know we found out by learning and also you can fill up this form I think 10 days before your trip however I recommend it doing like you know just before a couple of days at least do not wait for the last moment but I think the last moment you can do up to six hours
