Digital edition. Hey, good Wednesday afternoon. I'm Nick Oresko and thank
you for joining us for 22 News at four o'clock top stories in just a moment.
But first, after a bitter cold start to today, we have a few chances of snow in
the forecast with a look at that and traffic meteorologist Brian Lapis. Yeah,
I'm confident that, uh, am I confident? I'm expecting that most of the snow
that we're expecting tonight will happen after the evening commute. But
there still could be a few flakes flying around as you're about to see
with our radar. In the meantime, traffic is okay. No major problems
here on I 91. A slight backup at the end of 2 91 at the 91 South merge.
That's not unusual. Pike looks good, and I 91 north of town also looks good.
Temperatures right now are in the twenties. We started this morning
below zero. Here we are in the low to mid twenties, and I expect that will
continue to warm up even as we head into the evening hours of the breeze
out of the south. So here's the snow situation. 12 43 to 3 43. You can see a
little batch of snow moving into the valley right now, so this could be just
enough to limit visibility during the evening commute. And then there's some
more snow in here for later on this evening, so we'll continue to track
this snow potential and maybe chat a little bit about the snow potential for
the weekend on with our 22 new storm team forecast.
Two people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Holyoke
Credit Union in West Springfield. Yesterday, police said their
investigation revealed that a masked man entered the bank with a gun and
demanded money. Police say he then ran away and was later getting seen getting
into a gray Nissan Sentra parked nearby. The FBI and state police located the
vehicle and arrested Marco Sentry of Brockton and Jose Garcia of Holyoke.
They both are facing multiple charges. Also in West Springfield, people are
without a home after a house fire on New Bridge Street Tuesday night.
According to West Springfield Fire Lieutenant Tony Spear, crews first found
the fire coming from the top rear porch of the building. And in this video, you
can see the smoke coming from that area. No injuries were reported, but six
people are displaced. They are being assisted by the Red Cross. Chickapee
police are asking for your help in finding a missing child. They say
Armani Sutton Davies left her home on Sanders Street last Friday morning. She
is described as being five ft two with green eyes and reddish brown shoulder
length hair. If you have seen Armani or know where she may be, you are asked to
contact Chickapee police. We have that number on our screen. Elementary school
parents in Chester are voicing their concerns after a school bus full of
students was late for afternoon drop off yesterday. Mass state police say
that at around 4 30 yesterday afternoon, a bus in Chester was reported overdue.
Police say the bus driver, who they say is an older woman, suffered an unknown
medical emergency and was taken to the hospital. When the bus was found, it
was off its original route. 22 News reached out to multiple school
officials, including the superintendent in Chester for comment. We have yet to
hear back. The company that manages the school buses for the town told 22 News
that they have no comment. All students were reported safe and unharmed. Back
now, meteorologist Brian Lapis tracking some snow for this evening. Yeah, a
little round of light snow, not expecting much, but it could be just
enough to slow you down, especially in terms of visibility. Let's take a look
at it with our clouds and radar here, and you can see this little first wave
of snow. The atmosphere is pretty dry right now, so it may take an hour or so
for this snow to start making it to the ground. But especially in our hills
west of the Connecticut River, there could be some snow falling even as we
speak. And then there's more snow here off to the west, but not a lot. So
let's take a look at this with our 22 Storm Team Sky cast five o'clock here
this evening. Really not much happening. But as we head into the hours after
seven p.m. a little batch of light snow here at nine o'clock and then a little
bit of light snow here through midnight. After midnight, the snow
winds down. We actually get into some clearing seven o'clock here tomorrow
morning temperatures in the twenties to around 30 degrees, mostly dry day here
tomorrow with temperatures that actually will get close to 40 degrees
for forecasting a high of 38 to 42 for the middle of the day and then late
afternoon after four o'clock around of scattered snow showers could move
through. And that's where we start to see the return to colder air here for
friday and the weekend. And yes, at this point we can say that we are
expecting at least some snow here for sunday. We'll update those chances on
22 news at five. But 2026 Baseball Hall of Fame class was announced Tuesday
among the class were outfielders Carlos Beltran and Andrew Jones making his

Massachusetts native Sonny Williams, one of the two astronauts stuck for
months at the International Space Station last year has retired. NASA
made the announcement Tuesday saying her retirement took effect at the end

space station in Boeing's Starliner capsule. Their mission should have
lasted just about a week but stretched to more than nine months because of
issues with that capsule. They eventually returned to earth last

a man killed in a shooting at a nail salon in the Holyoke Mall nearly three

council's public safety committee following his recent arrest in december.
We showed you that body cam video yesterday. We'll have reaction from the
city and what's next for Israel Rivera and how a woman is using social media
in the hopes of solving her late sister's murder case two decades after
her remains were found in Palmer traffic moving along fine here. Be
advised that there will be some light snow around after sunset, so that could
be just enough to slow you down. There could be a couple of slippery spots,
but at least as the evening commute gets underway, we're in pretty good
shape. We will track tonight's snow and the potential for cold and snow over
