50 laps to the distance, the Rio Grande 50 presented by Shaw Trucking, at least $25,000,
going to the winner in the finale.
Bobby Pierce, Tyler Earp off into turns one and two.
Bobby Pierce shoots to the lead.
Tyler Earp around the top.
He'll go into second.
Hutting back to third.
Meanwhile, Cade Dillard, he's got Ethan Dotson to his outside.
They battle side by side for position number four.
And nobody picks Ethan Dotson.
He picked up a win here on Wednesday night in the 74X, the end of lap number one.
Pierce out front, turbo second.
Now, Hudson O'Neil will look down to the inside.
Inside of the second spot.
It's an O'Neil right behind your leader, Bobby Pierce.
Pony up in a couple of places down there in turns one and two as well.
That might make things interesting as this race goes on.
What did you say, Billy?
Did you say, uh-oh?
Hudson's counting that $500 a lap.
No doubt.
He's got a good run down to the inside of Bobby Pierce.
They drive into your living room.
Will you have a new leader this time behind Ben?
Coming around.
Lap number 23.
Pierce ducks back to the inside.
Yes, sir, you do.
23 in the books.
And Bobby Pierce back to second.
Hudson O'Neil to the lead.
Now, Pierce tries to take the lead down the back straightaway.
Will Huddy throw the slider off into turns three and four.
Lap one through 22 went to Pierce.
And it was Huddy.
Man, those guys, Billy.
How hard is what they're doing right now?
How hard is that?
You just can't explain it, man.
They're on it.
That Bobby, he said, I'm not letting him out.
He's on the gas.
Pierce has got a good run down the back straightaway.
He's going to take the slider line away, as we call it, from Hudson O'Neil.
Will BP be back out front this time?
Yes, he will.
Lap 25, you've got a new leader, Bobby Pierce, back out front here at Casa Grande.
Keep our eyes on that.
He started back in 23rd.
They fan out two and nearly three wide off corner number four is Hudson O'Neil.
Another run down to the inside of Bobby Pierce.
Maybe a tire choice there where Huddy's better on the short run and Pierce is better on the
long, Billy?
It might be, but I'm about 90% sure they're all on four right rear.
Meanwhile, side by side to lead, Albertsons are right there as well.
If you're Pierce, you think you're dealing with Hudson, you have no idea, Garrett is
reeling the top of the racetrack down the back straightaway.
Last time we saw Hudson get to the lead, Pierce turned on the afterburners.
Right now, not able to break away.
We'll see after a few laps if he can.
As Hudson goes to the cushion, lead off lap number 29 by three hundredths of a second,
Hudson O'Neil.
Albertson out of the party in the 58, guys.
Trouble for the driver that won from last night.
Slider for the lead off into three and four.
Meanwhile, man, I need an extra set of eyeballs for this one here tonight.
Number 30.
How about you got a new leader and it's Hudson O'Neil.
Bobby Pierce leads last 25 through 29 Hudson O'Neil back out front for the second.
They get to get a fire hood.
Oh, no, Hudson keeps going.
They both keep going.
How did he do that?
Unbelievable.
What the hell did I just see?
That was days of thunder in real life.
Oh, my lord.
Billy, walk me through this because you know better than anybody.
Well, Bobby, he knows he's out there and he's trying to give him a little bit of room there,
but not too much room.
And they, you know, Hudson does a heck of a job.
Turn that thing around.
Keep going the right direction.
So they do this blend rule now, I guess.
So I don't know how all this is going to come into effect.
All right.
Now we're waiting.
We'll get the word from race control down there.
Nobody stopped on the racetrack.
They run the blend rule.
So when the caution lights come out, as Billy Moyer talked about, they blend into where
they were running on the racetrack.
Because they had a two-second lead, they happened to blend back in in first and second because
that's where they still were when the yellow light came on.
We've got 20 laps left to go.
And Bobby Peirce for the third time in this race is back out front.
And Bobby Peirce gets a good start now.
Tyler Earp now outside of Hudson O'Neal.
We'll see what Huddy's car, if it's affected by that damage.
You've got to think it didn't do any favors.
And that car is really bouncing on the bottom out of the corner.
Tyler Earp up to second.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Davenport has cracked the top five.
Oh, he slides up in front of Ethan Dotson.
Here comes Jonathan Davenport.
He's gone 23rd to fourth in 31 laps.
Oh, my goodness.
It's time to buy him a strike.
He is nearly two full seconds back.
And don't look now, but it's going to be three-way dances.
Jonathan Davenport center of the chat, guys.
He's going to look to the inside of the one car at full send.
And, yeah, there he goes right up in front.
And Davenport goes around him.
Jonathan Davenport, 23rd to third.
15 laps to go.
Can JD get there?
I would say he's got something for him.
Oh, we might have a slow.
We've got one slow out of turn three and four.
Will we see a midwest caution?
Oh, my.
Oh, man.
Jake Timm has got a flat right rear on the 49.
Going to be on the outside on this Delaware double-file restart,
guys.
13 laps to go.
And he's going to take that second spot away from Hudson
O'Neal.
And he's not done yet, guys.
He's going to give Bobby Pierce a run for the lead.
Well, Bobby's been really good.
And Bobby will pull away down the back straightaway.
And you've got to think, Bobby knew he started back there.
When he saw the leaderboard that Davenport's to third
as Bobby kisses off the concrete a little bit there.
What goes through your mind, too, when you know somebody's
come from that far back?
You know that he's got a heck of a hot rod.
You better be on your game.
He knows where he started.
He knows he's in second or third.
Davenport just took three tenths off, guys.
There's only three to go.
But he's only got 1.2 seconds back now.
We'll see what happens.
Two laps to go this time by.
We're going to check the advantage.
Davenport's coming.
Down to a second.
But the sands are running out of the outlet.
He's got to go one second down the back straightaway.
Three and four is going to be pivotal, Billy.
If he can knock a half a second off here, he's got a chance.
Bobby Pierce driving for Allsworth.
And lap cars, I don't know they're going to get to them,
but they're in front of them.
It was 1.1 seconds last time.
This time, still 1.1.
White flag in the air.
Hochatown Saloon last call.
Bobby Pierce has not won yet
at Central Arizona Raceway this weekend.
And he's going to change it tonight.
The winner of the Rio Grande Waste Services 50
presented by Shaw Trucking,
the smooth operator, Bobby Pierce.
Jonathan Davenport comes home in second.
Hudson O'Neill in third.
