Bradford, England 1902 (New Version) in COLOR [60fps, Remastered + Sound Design]
I used a new colorization technique, fully restored, and created immersive sound design for this rare footage — Electric Tram Rides from Forster Square, Bradford (1902) — offering a vivid glimpse into Edwardian England. Through advanced restoration and colorization, this film brings to life the bustling streets of Bradford at the height of its industrial glory. Once a modest market town, Bradford had rapidly transformed into Britain’s wool capital — a city of grand architecture and energetic street life, though shadowed by pollution and hardship. Among the scenes, two Mitchell & Kenyon assistants can be seen directing pedestrians, while a group of elegantly dressed young women are asked to walk past the camera twice — a charming early example of staged filmmaking.
