Hi Aidy, this is Madhuri Dixit. And this is Dr. Naini. Welcome to our Mumbai home. Come on in.
To me, a house means somewhere where you feel comfortable and cozy and loved. And I think about
the fortress of solitude. When you come here, you feel peace, tranquility. You can explore
all of your passions. We built a house with that in mind. We're very similar on the
Everything is uncluttered. It's straight lines, beautiful yet artistic.
Music and theater were something I was interested in. And so kids are also into music. So when we
all come together, it's like a musical family. And that's why I think Ram put the effort
to make sure that the sound quality will be one of the best. That and the views,
you're done. You don't need anything else. You just need people to fill the room.
So the beauty of this house is in the little details that we have,
you know, made here. And so I'd like to show you. Come on.
So as you can see, I have a lot of Hussain's paintings in my house.
I remember he had said,
He wanted to paint the walls. And I said, Hussain, please don't paint my walls.
I don't mind paintings, but don't paint my walls. I can't take them with me everywhere.
And this painting is one of my favorite paintings by him. He says,
just goes to show he had a sense of humor. And I love it because it shows me dancing
in all the dance forms. And I remember I had talked to him once and I said,
what does this painting mean to you? And he looked at me and he says, you know, we create art.
It doesn't matter what it meant to me. It matters what it meant to the people who are seeing it.
Well, as you can see, this is all the family photos, my kids and my third kid. That's Carmelo.
You know, being a mother, I think is one of the wonderful things I've ever experienced.
And both my kids, now they are off to college. I cannot believe that they are at that stage in
their life. And of course, I have the kids room. Both the kids have their own rooms in this house.
And it's just that I want them to keep coming back home and spending time with us.
You got to check this out. Hey guys, welcome to the kitchen. So I've always had a great gourmet
kitchen. A lot of our parties have been around our kitchen where we all have great conversations.
We kind of share recipes. And so for me, this kitchen was part of the bones of the house,
shall we say. So you guys are in the bedroom now. As you can see, it has a beautiful view.
So every morning I wake up, that's the first thing I see. You see, it's very peaceful,
a little nook there to sit in the morning, have my chai or read something or newspaper.
And I love it. So this is the room where we spend most of our time as a family together.
So come on in. So this is the room where everything fun happens. Whenever my kids come
down, they are playing the guitars, the drums. And we all play and sing and participate.
So it gets to be a lot of fun. Hi guys, I'm Apoorva Shroff from Lift Design.
I'm Ram and Madhuri's architect and the envisioner or the dreamer who put all of this together.
The plan was to keep this house simple so it could absorb all the splashes of colors that we threw
at it. Their personalities included, the Hussain's included and Ram's B&W speakers included.
I've always wanted to have a family. That was my dream to have, you know, a husband, a house,
kids. And I'm so glad that, you know, my mom and dad used to live with us and they imparted
all the values they've given me. And I was able to do that for my own kids.
So thank you A.D. for coming to my house. Thanks A.D.
